Our wedding was very recent (last night) and we cannot get over how seamlessly everything went for us. This venue is extremely comfortable and remains classy yet gives off a casual vibe, so you don't feel like you can't let loose. Everyone had a blast, the staff kept things in order while never spoiling the fun. The after-party at the lobster trap was particularly fun. Our guests raved about the food, atmosphere, and beautiful views during the ceremony & at sunset. -

Honestly there are no true words for how amazing Lauren and the whole team were at the Essex Room. They tackled everything and made sure we were covered for any additional hurdles that may have came our way. They know how to run a flawless wedding, and we are so happy we chose them. -

So Much In One Venue
We have recommended and will continue to recommend The Essex Room to everyone we know! Our wedding was absolutely perfect! We were originally planned to celebrate in September 2020, but as many others we had to move the date by a year. Lauren helped us during every step of the way. She also went above and beyond to help with all of our decorations, and even put together our beautiful arch for us! We especially loved the Essex Room as they provided so many of the needed aspects of the wedding: Catering all of the events, the rehearsal dinner location, the ceremony location, cocktail hour location, the reception location and the after party location, and of course Lauren for day of. It made the celebration so much less stressful knowing we could trust one vendor with so much! -

Better than we could even imagine!
We were blown away at how perfect our wedding was at The Essex Room. Our ceremony in the beautiful garden was one of our favorite things about our wedding day. Having our reception and ceremony at the same location was exactly what we wanted. The grounds are impeccably gorgeous, and we heard this from so many of our guests. We were so excited to have our reception at The Essex Room for so many reasons, but the elegant decor, giant dancefloor and delicious food were definitely some of the reasons at the top of our list. Our guests raved about the food, especially the hors d'oeuvres. The bacon wrapped scallops are a MUST! We were so lucky to work with Lauren, the special events coordinator, who supported us and answered our questions every step of the way. All of the staff of The Essex Room worked endlessly to make sure our wedding was the day we always dreamed of. We wish we could relive our special day over and over again, and we know without a doubt that we made the best choice by choosing The Essex Room! -

The Best Wedding Team!
Where do I even begin. The Essex Room staff (FOH & BOH), Lauren, and Maureen were absolutely incredible to work with! My husband and I were a COVID couple that had been forced to alter our wedding plans twice before deciding on The Essex Room in April 2021. We set our date for August for what was supposed to be a small outdoor semi-casual wedding under the tent since COVID restrictions in Mass were making things anything but easy. As August approached restrictions started to change and lift and so did our wedding vision. Lauren rolled with everything we threw at her. Dance floor that had to be delivered the same day, steady increase in the guest count as more people were allowed, changes in liquor, you name it Lauren made it happen. Every vendor we hired, when we told them that we booked the Essex Room were more than excited to be part of our day there. All of them had nothing but positive experiences with how events were run. It was a relief leading up to the day of our wedding knowing we were in such good hands. Aug 8th came and went so incredibly smooth, timing of everything was perfect (ceremony, cocktail hour, intros, dinner, afterparty, ect...). We chose to do our ceremony on the side of the building with the backdrop of the salt marsh, Lauren gave us a suggestion from a previous couple who had used an antique car to drive the bride up to the end of the aisle. We rented an old 1957 Porsche and gave our guests a fun surprise to start the ceremony. Lauren and Maureen on walkie-talkies helped orchestrate my whole entrance. Our reception was so much fun, our drinks, the set up, and the food, THE FOOD, was beyond delicious - we still have guests talking about the lobster rolls and ribs. We hosted our after party downstairs at The Lobster Trap Pub, which was such a great experience for all of our guests. Having the ceremony, reception, and after party in the same place was the best move we could of made. If you are considering the Essex Room seriously look no further because you have found your venue. All the little touches, attention to detail, and precision of the staff went above and beyond mine and my husbands expectations. Wish we could do it again! The Essex Room exceeded all our expectations! Our day was perfect. From the start of the planning to the wedding day, the staff at the Essex Room was the absolute best to work with. Lauren and Cassie listened to our vision and executed every detail perfectly! All of our guest spoke so highly of their meals. The food, presentation, and service was phenomenal! -

Saved our wedding!
Maureen and the Essex Room saved our wedding day! We had to make some last minute changes due to COVID, and they were so generous and amazing with accommodating our ceremony somewhat last minute. Everything was set up exactly as I imagined and they even offered a beautiful champagne and pre-ceremony snack station for our guests that we got some many compliments on. They truly are the best team and the most amazing people! I wish I booked this venue for our wedding from the very start. I highly recommend! -

My husband and I loved The Essex Room. The first time I went there to view the space I was amazed with how nice the venue was and the with the way we were treated. I knew we wanted to have our wedding there immediately.
Throughout the planning process the staff and was extremely helpful. We were supposed to be married in the summer of 2020 but had to rearrange our plans due to Covid and the staff there, especially Lauren, made it so much less stressful than it could have been. Lauren made planning the wedding easy and was always quick to respond to my questions. They took care of pretty much everything.
The food at our wedding was incredible. I have had so many guests tell me since the. That the food was the best they’ve ever had at a wedding. All of the staff that worked the wedding was great. Lauren kept things moving during the reception and perfectly orchestrated everything.
The venue is beautiful, the marsh is an amazing backdrop to pictures, they have a really nice flower garden area with a swing for some really cool pictures.
We also had our after party in the pub downstairs from the reception hall and that was also perfect. We had fun playing pool and just unwinding with our friends and family.
I couldn’t have asked for a better wedding venue. I was impressed all around and have absolutely zero complaints. -

Come here to wed, stay to be fed
We looked at a handful of venues in New England, but the Essex Room took the cake. Upon meeting the staff, my bride and I immediately felt the unlimited potential of hosting our wedding here. The coordinators were accommodating to our every request, the Chef wowed us with a food sampling (an upscale smattering of Woodman's seafood and then some), and the Lobster Trap Pub located downstairs guaranteed that our party would be one to remember, unless of course you had one too many signature cocktails made from local distillers! The beautiful grounds for photos, a plethora of parking, the slew of nearby bars, restaurants, and motels made the Essex Room the perfect wedding venue. But most importantly, they have the biggest wedding dancefloor on the North Shore. Go big or go home! -

Working with the Essex Room staff, especially Lauren Muise, made the stress before a wedding almost non-existent. They were always available to answer questions no matter the time of day and they made my wedding day exactly how I imagined it. Great Experience
We loved our wedding at the Essex Room! Lauren, Donna, and Chef Ned went above and beyond to ensure that we had a great experience. We went back and forth with them several times to ensure that our nontraditional menu was exactly what we were looking for - and it definitely paid off! All of our guests told us how amazing the taco bar was and we were so happy about that. Not only did the Essex Room provide a delicious, one of a kind meal, but Lauren also did an amazing job setting up all of the decor that I brought to the venue ahead of time. The venue was also beautiful and looks great in all of our photos and videos. It was also very convenient to host our after party and the downstairs lobster trap pub, and have the Essex Room order us pizza. The Essex Room is one of the nicest of the affordable wedding venues in the area. I would highly recommend this venue to any of my family and friends!The Essex Room's reply:

August Wedding!
We have recommended and will continue to recommend The Essex Room to everyone we know! Our wedding was absolutely perfect down to the last detail. The coordinators were friendly, thoughtful, professional, and had our day running so smoothly my husband and I were able to simply relax and enjoy ever bit of it! The food was incredible and is still being talked about by our friends and family. Nothing beats the location and gorgeous facility. When I say you’re in good hands, you’re in good hands. They staff here are some of the greatest people I’ve met and I’m so happy I got to work with them. Lauren made it so easy to not have to worry about anything. I can’t thank her enough. The space is so beautiful. There are so many great spots for photos inside and outside. The food is unbelievable! My vision was able to come to life with all the help from the staff. I know for sure in the future I’ll be using the Essex Room again for another event. I HIGHLY recommend. -

From beginning to end, our experience with The Essex Room left us with a wedding celebration that exceeded our expectations. From the very first phone call with Donna, we knew we had found the right place. We were consistently impressed by her and Lauren’s warmth and responsiveness, and felt taken care of throughout the entire process. Chef Ned and the kitchen staff worked hard to accommodate a completely gluten free menu that our guests continue to rave about, and his personal touch throughout the tasting made us again feel completely taken care of. The venue itself is an elegant space that was large enough for our guests to comfortably mingle, dine, and dance wildly to our custom playlist. With access to the entire facilities and flexibility of a truly customizable menu, we felt welcome to make the celebration our own at a price that almost seemed too good to be true. We got married at the end of April 2019. Donna, Lauren and the rest of the team at The Essex Room were nothing short of amazing! We fell in love with the space on our first tour and from that point on they answered all my questions and countless emails. We felt like we were the only wedding that mattered. We are STILL receiving compliments on the food, months after our wedding. They have countless options to fit every need, want, and budget. The day of, the entire space was exactly how I envisioned it. Everyone was so professional and polite. It is the perfect venue for such a special day and we can't thank the entire team enough for all their hard work! -
