We got married at The Commons on July 15, 2023 and we are so blown away with the professionalism of the staff and how well our wedding went! It couldn't have been more perfect. Our guests were raving about the food and the staff. Paige was our coordinator and did such an amazing job keeping track of time and helping us hideaway for a much needed break and snack during cocktail hour photos. I am SO happy we had our wedding there and it was so easy coordinating with them. Thank you so much Commons Staff!! -

The Wedding Venue of Our Dreams
We had our ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception at The Commons 1854 in October, and the entire experience was exceptional. Our outdoor ceremony knocked our guests’ socks off. The burnt orange, red, and yellow foliage, the pergola, the hydrangea-lined gate and arch, the grandness of the stark white building itself, it was incredibly picturesque. The venue itself is the perfect blend of New England charm and European opulence… marble, columns, statues, chandeliers. The food and drinks were quite frankly too good for a wedding. Typically, wedding food is unremarkable, but this is not the case for The Commons 1854. When we booked with The Commons, we kept hearing about the food being outstanding, and the rumors were true. We have been getting many, many, many unprompted compliments about how delicious the food was - some saying “the best wedding food they’ve ever had!” It seemed that a place like The Commons 1854 with its beauty and culinary offerings was too good to be true… but it was REAL! Now, let’s talk about the service. It matched the magnificence of The Commons 1854 itself. We worked mainly with Giana and Maura, and they are Pros!!!! Throughout the entire wedding planning process, whenever we had a question or concern, they were very responsive and immediately put as at ease each time. The wedding day was a smashing success mainly because of Maura and her team's incredible expertise. Maura runs a tight ship, and kept our ginormous bridal party in order… everyone was where they needed to be and everything ran like clockwork. Not only that, but Maura couldn’t have been kinder. She bent over backwards to make everything run smoothly and truly made us feel that we were in the best hands. She gave us great advice about all things wedding related, and was constantly saying “Don’t worry! We’ll take care of it!”, and she even helped me with my bustle the day of! Way above the call of duty! Giana who we met on our initial tour of The Commons 1854 couldn't have been sweeter - answering every silly question we had, joking with us, being incredibly helpful in every way. Kim the beverage manager was even trialing different cocktail experiments with us during our tasting to make sure we had the perfect his & her signature drinks! My husband and I cannot believe how lucky we were to have found The Commons 1854 and the whole team. It is a Massachusetts gem. Aesthetic, food and beverage, service, convenience of having everything in one place…. You cannot go wrong. 10/10 in every category. It’s miraculous how absolutely perfect our wedding day was. We can’t believe we’re saying this unironically, but it was truly the wedding of our dreams. Thank you to the whole Commons 1854 team!!! -

The best wedding ever!
We got married at The Commons on 10/1/22. We didn't stop talking about how happy we were that we chose The Commons throughout the entire planning process. The staff is reliable and so efficient. We had so many compliments about the service, the food and the atmosphere. Maura was the BEST wedding planner ever. She made everything perfect and I truly did not have to worry about a thing. Book them for your wedding, you will not regret it! -

Classic elegance
We were obsessed with The Commons 1854 the second we walked through the door. From the marble, to the fireplaces, to the ballroom, to the garden our wedding dreams came to life before our eyes. Maura, our day of coordinator, was nothing short of perfection. “On top of it” doesn’t even cut it, this woman was impeccable. She kept us on track, realistic and helped our vision come to life. If you’re looking for classic elegance and a fantastic team, look no further. Also have to mention the FOOD! People we’re talking about for weeks after! We were so blessed to be able to have such a wonderful space for our big day. -

The Commons 1854 made our dreams come true. They were organized, professional, and super helpful. We had a super elegant wedding and the food was amazing. They let us bring in non-alcoholic drinks for our guests, and walked us through every stage of the process. Details like choosing our table seat placements were super easy to do, and we made many changes because of Covid. Maura especially was so helpful. She made sure everything ran on time and smoothly. She helped me with my bustle and made sure me and my husband had drinks and food, and had picture perfect memories. She even calmed down my Dad who was having a tiff, and provided much needed emotional support to us. It was like having a best friend at the wedding reception. The space was beautiful and impeccably dressed up. The space also provided a perfect backdrop for our photos, especially the outside area. They accommodated all our vendors and made the whole night perfect. We highly recommend The Commons 1854 for your dream wedding! -

What a fantastic experience, from beginning to end! The Commons 1854 team was detail oriented and well organized. They coordinated exceptionally well with the photographer, videographer, florist, and DJ. Leading up to the wedding, they were very flexible with changes we needed to make to be in line with ever changing regulations due to covid-19. They were always available and extremely professional. -

OMG! The venue speaks for itself and is absolutely gorgeous. Paige was the wedding coordinator and did an outstanding job. The service was impeccable and everyone working was extremely attentive to me, my husband, and guests. Paige went above and beyond helping me with my shuttle issue I was having. The food was phenomenal and everyone is still raving about it. I highly recommend - you won't be disappointed! -

The Commons 1854 is THE PLACE to get married at. It is such a unique venue! I haven’t been to a venue similar to the Commons 1854. The garden is so dreamy and magical, the first-floor cocktail hour is beautiful, and the upstairs ballroom is very elegant with large windows to let the light in and has a stage which is perfect to setup a band or DJ. The food here was AMAZING. The guests at my wedding are still raving about it saying it is the best food they have ever had at a wedding. The portions were very large too! The Commons adds so many elegant little touches as well, such as serving their beers in tall pilsner glasses. The staff was so accommodating and really worked with you to put you at ease and fulfill your vision. Look no further - book with the Commons - they will NOT disappoint!! -

Amazing venue
I’m not even sure where to begin, because the commons team made sure it was actually the best day of our lives. The first moment we walked into the venue, we saw how stunning all the features were. From the gorgeous marble floors and fire places, to the outside patio, to the amazing ball-room floor it makes for the perfect venue. The commons itself even made for such a dreamy back drop in our pictures. Right from the start Maura, Gianna, Paige, and Kristi made sure we were set up for success with a written out/planned timeline for all elements of the wedding. They provided a rockstar group of recommended vendors, and they truly did not disappoint. Quick shoutout to levitate weddings and Karla Cassidy florals for bringing class and excitement to the venue. On the wedding day, I wasn’t sure what to expect in terms of staff involvement. And when I say Maura and her amazing staff were truly the best, they literally didn’t miss a beat. From helping me out of transportation in my ball gown, to facilitating pictures, to getting the wedding party ready to get introduced, serving meals, and making sure my husband and I sufficiently ate. In terms of food and drinks, we had so many guests coming up to us telling us how delicious their meals were. I can truly attest to this as well as the food was unbelievably tasty and the bar service was impeccable. The DJ kept everyone on the dance floor and the commons staff even moved some tables out of the way to make even more space for people to dance. I truly have only positive comments to say about this venue and hope that other people get to experience the high level of professionalism and class that we also had the pleasure of experiencing. -

The Best Decision!
The team at The Commons made all of my wedding dreams come true! As someone who has never been a part of a wedding party, I wasn't sure what to expect in the planning process. Paige, Gianna and the whole team couldn't have made every step of the way any easier and they truly think of every detail so you don't miss a thing! They were always available for phone calls and put me at ease throughout the planning process. On the day of the wedding, Paige could not have been more attentive to the needs of not only my husband and I, but our parents and guests. We were truly in the best hands, and I wouldn't have changed one thing about our experience or wedding day! -

The Commons 1854 is the most incredible, gorgeous, and unmatched place to get married! I am telling you, you WILL regret not getting married here. The staff: professional, incredibly polite and organized. The food: OUT OF THIS WORLD. My guests (including my own picky parents!) say it’s the best food they’ve ever had at a wedding, from start to finish. The layout: this venue is immaculate, beautiful, and brings the WOW factor you need. Gianna, Kristie and Paige are the dream team! Gianna and Kristie emotionally supported my husband and I when we had to postpone due to Covid, and thanks to them I held on to my vision for our wedding and I’m so glad I did. Paige was a TRUE HERO on our wedding day also! I could not have asked for a more amazing wedding planner between her and Gianna. I have been dreaming about my wedding for 3.5 years and The Commons 1854 surpassed all my dreams and expectations to be more incredible than I ever thought. THANK YOU for making my wedding day absolutely PERFECT!! This venue and the staff can’t be beat, they truly are one of a kind. -

Perfect Venue, Amazing Team
Just wow! Still coming down from the high of the most perfect June 2021 wedding at The Commons. The support and recommendations and insight we received in the planning stages was one thing, but the day of execution was pure magic and beyond what I could have ever imagined. Every little detail and random thing I had mentioned (and even some things I had forgotten about) were organized to perfection. The venue is absolutely stunning and so classy with even the most minimal decor. The chef accommodated custom menu requests and multiple guests have told us it was the best food they’ve ever had at a wedding! And the staff is amazing, kind, and incredibly professional. As the bride and groom, we were catered to all night long and the entire evening was a complete dream. After such a chaotic year of changing plans and life changes, I can’t emphasize how seamless, calm, and accommodating working with Gianna was. She made us feel at ease, always. We felt so comfortable communicating with her and her kindness and warmth were so tangible with every interaction. A million thank yous to Gianna and the rest of the team at The Commons. For a once in a lifetime event, I’m so grateful we connected with you! -

The Commons 1854 - Thank you!!
We had our daughter’s wedding at the Commons 1854 in Topsfield, MA. The venue is beautiful, the staff attentive, and the food outstanding. What really makes the place extra special is their event planning. We were fortunate enough to work with Gianna. She is such a pleasure to work with that it made you feel like she was part of our family working with us. She truly felt the message we wanted to convey and orchestrated the event perfectly.
We can’t thank the staff of the Commons for delivering such an exceptional experience for our daughter and all of her family and friends. These special memories will live forever!
