  Hire Joel!!! The best DJ

  Joel was the MVP of our day! From having mics all set for the ceremony to curating the vibes for all parts of our day, Joel was just the best DJ we could have had -- and he is literally the kindest human on the planet. Because he had played events at our venue before, Joel was able to recommend certain things he's seen before, which helped us figure out what we wanted. He also created a google doc with all pieces of a typical wedding and asks you to populate in songs or ideas -- whether it was just a small description of a vibe we were going for or a specific set of songs we wanted to hear, Joel made it all work!
  
  I am especially grateful for the way he was able to be flexible with the little details we had -- in place of my father daughter dance, I had a dance with my 3 brothers that was to just one song. This was a really emotional moment for my family and it just felt so perfect because of the way Joel introduced each one of them and helped it feel like it flowed. Joel made everything so seamless for us and we had so many people tell us how much they loved the music.

  Throws an amazing dance party

  Joel was the chillest vendor we dealt with, which honestly made me nervous that he wasn't on top of of our playlist and preferences. I couldn't have been more wrong. Joel threw an amazing dance party--multiple friends asked us who the DJ was during the reception because they were having so much fun. He integrated our requests seamlessly with his own choices, and people danced all night. One of the nicest guys ever too. Hire Joel!

  Words truly cannot describe how grateful we are that we booked Joel for our wedding day! What first drew us to Joel was his approach to DJ-ing weddings. Instead of pressuring people to get on the dance floor by yelling through a microphone, he listens to the couple/guests, observes what music gets people most excited on the dance floor, and lets the music speak for itself! Even guests that SWORE they do not dance, were dancing on our dance floor. One of our favorite moments of the wedding day was when all the guests spontaneously circled around us during the last dance; it was a truly indescribable moment that was brought about by the subtle intentional choices Joel made throughout the night to make people feel comfortable and have a good time. Oh and did we mention that Joel stepped up just a couple months before our wedding when another vendor fell through on one of their commitments to us? He was truly the BEST.

  Smoothest DJ Experience We Could Ask For!

  Joel was a 10/10 all around! He is very organized, and makes everything easy! He was recommended by our planner, and was very responsive to our emails. We had a consultation with him where he clearly laid out the details of what he offered, and how he would apply it to our wedding specifically (where he would likely set up, how the night would go etc). Sending him a list of the music we wanted to play, and when we wanted it to play was easy. He also let us know that he would also be able to include song choices that would fit the moment if we wanted him to or if we ran out of song choices for different parts of the day. On the big day, he did an AMAZING job with our rooftop wedding. He played everything on the list as requested, and arranged the songs that we asked him to play in a way that kept the reception fun for all ages, and lively - everyone (young and old) got up to enjoy the fun! As a bonus, he also gave us each a pair of customized shirts for our wedding - what an awesome keepsake! I can't recommend Joel enough! Thanks for making the soundtrack to our wedding special!

Joel made sure he played all our must-play songs as well as the classics.   Excellent DJ and Audio Expert

  From the very first phone call, Joel put my fiancée and I right at ease! He was always extremely responsive and flexible. He did a great job of putting together a setlist for the evening, starting with our song suggestions and then also reading the room to keep people dancing. His pricing was extremely reasonable for the quality of service he provided, and we were able to customize his services to our specific event needs. We would highly recommend Joel for anyone looking for a wedding DJ!

  Perfect DJ without the kitsch

  Joel was incredible. We wanted a DJ who could keep us dancing without being overpowering (DJs with big personalities who try to be loud party captains always feel more kitsch than fun to us). Joel blended into the background but kept everyone dancing for four hours straight (we extended the party). Not only was he easy to work with leading up to the day, but he went above and beyond to make our day special. Unlike other DJs who want to keep your "must play" and "do not play" lists short, he encouraged us to fill it up with as many songs as we wanted. He never played any of the banned songs (despite guest pressure), and kept everyone dancing all night. He even went so far as to buy a song off iTunes from our Best Man's awful college band just so we could prank him during speeches. Joel is awesome. Highly, highly recommend.

He is incredibly personable, took the time to schedule several phone calls with us (one lasting over an hour), and gave us so many great recommendations. He gave my husband the fun idea to have a groom/groomsmen song for the ceremony, and our guests LOVED it! Joel was also happy to work with us to edit songs we wanted for the ceremony and reception introductions, and they turned out perfectly. He knew exactly what songs to play to keep the dance floor packed, and many of our guests told us how much they enjoyed his music. Thank you so much, Joel, for helping make our special day so much fun and so memorable!

  Awesome!!!

  Joel was fantastic! Our venue lost power the first half of the night But Joel worked with the backup generator and did a fantastic job. He played everything we requested and avoided the do not play band. The night was magical and Joel has a huge part in that magic. And we loved the custom tee shirts- I’m wearing mine right now. Thank you, Joel!

  We first talked with Joel over the phone and instantly clicked. Despite not meeting in-person, we instantly knew that he was the right fit for us. Working with Joel was simple and easy, and he walked us through everything we needed to know, incorporating the vibe we wanted.
  
  On the day of the wedding, everyone was out on the dance floor all night, some even skipping dessert because they were having too much fun dancing! We have gotten so many compliments about Joel, and some of our friends have even said that it was the most fun wedding they had ever been to! A lot of the credit for that goes to our DJ.
  
  Bottom line, you should book him!

He listened to our ideas, answered our questions with patience, and handled a couple of changing-our-minds on details from us with grace. and incorporated (the very strange!) requests from our guests as well as respected our do not play list. Joel read the room, playing songs that brought people to the dance floor, ending songs early that guests weren't responding to.

Music for the wedding was a really big deal to us, and he totally knocked it out of the park. Before the wedding, he let us fill out a google doc with songs we wanted played, and when. And, he played them exactly as we wanted for the ceremony. For the reception/dance party, he did an awesome job of playing what we wanted, and mixing them in with his own songs. After our wedding, my family and friends kept coming up to us (completely unsolicited) and saying how great a job the DJ did, and how much fun they had had at the wedding. My brother to this day is impressed that Joel was able to get our whole family dancing for most of the wedding (something he had never seen before). We also appreciated Joel's feedback, and he had a couple suggestions about the flow of the wedding that made everything work out even better than we had planned. We cannot say thank you enough, and definitely recommend this guy - he's truly awesome.

  Perfect Music

  Joel was amazing and made our special day perfect. He has a special sense for the right music at the right time. He kept the party going and got every up dancing. He was accommodating for special and last minute request. His introductions of the wedding party was exciting and the guest loved it.
  I will definitely use him for my future events and recommend him to all.

  Joel was an amazing DJ to work with! Extremely responsive, fun to work with and overall excellent human. We shared a taste in music and what i provided to Joel, he ran with it. The dance floor never stopped and when unexpected issues happened, his professionalism kept the party going.   We worked with Joel for our August 2019 ceremony and reception, and he was amazing!! Joel is super friendly, easy to work with, and obviously knows what he’s doing. He did a great job with focusing on the types of songs we liked while weaving in all the typical wedding songs people love to dance to. He had the dance floor jumping all night - HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!

  Absolutely the best wedding DJ I've seen!

  Joel made our reception! His song selection and style kept our dance floor full the whole reception. My family isn't full of dancers and you would have never known it. It was a blast and I got many compliments on how good he was. On top of the awesome party Joel was fun and easy to work with. He made adding and taking songs from our list super easy with his google doc. The icing on the cake was the super cool shirts that he made for us. Loved it! Do not hesitate to book Joel he is a Wizard!

During the planning process, Joel made plenty of time to discuss our song list, and made sure to check in with us during the reception to make sure all was going well. And, most importantly, he went above and beyond in the face of unforeseen circumstances to make sure that we had a wonderful dance party. He's calm, cool, and collected, but also fun and engaging. PLUS he has a super cool DJ booth setup that is so much fun! We especially loved that he made a special t-shirt to wear during the event (and gave us our own to take home!).   The best, hands down.

  Usually I never write reviews, but Joel was the man. You definitely want him to DJ your wedding. He is a very cool guy. Even from the beginning I could tell he had good work ethic. He was straight up with pricing and the equipment he needed. I actually ended up just chatting with him on the phone like we knew each other. After the initial phone convo all we had to do was give him a couple songs and he killed the playlist. He can do it all! He even stayed later than scheduled for us and made these wicked t-shirts everyone at the wedding wanted. Honestly you cant go wrong choosing Joel.

  Joel is the best event DJ in the DMV area!!!

  I wish there was a way to give more than 5 stars for Joel. We contacted Joel to be the DJ for our wedding and he immediately set up a video call so we could discuss our vision. No matter how crazy our ideas were, he was very flexible and excited about our vision for our wedding. Our vision would never have been possible without him. He would always respond quickly with any of our questions and even changed songs on our playlist in the week leading into the wedding. He was extremely professional the day of the wedding and all of the days leading into the wedding. Once the dance party started, it didn’t stop!! Joel played all of the important songs and read the crowd and mixed in other songs that he knew the crowd would enjoy. I had many guests that raved about how great he was and his play style. I can not recommend Joel enough for your next event. Do yourself a favor and book him for your event. It will be a lot less stressful with Joel running the play list for your event and he will definitely get everyone out on the dance floor!!

  Joel was very responsive. We scheduled an initial call and he listened to our requests and quickly understood our wedding vibe. He laid out a detailed plan to get our song requests and followed through as the wedding date approached. He was very flexible with our requests and even was able to capture a song that was not widely available for the processional. When it came to the day of, he provided everything we asked without issue. Set up early and stayed till the late night. His late night music was a huge hit for the young and old! I cannot recommend him enough. He was a pleasure to work with.

  Best decision of our wedding planning process!

  Joel DJ'd our wedding and he was just fantastic: a true professional and a wonderful person. We could not be happier with our decision. Joel has a talent for reading the crowd and seeing how people respond to the music selection, and then adjusting accordingly on the spot. He also does this cool thing where he layers songs - he will start the next song while the first one is wrapping up (with the beats matching). This has a really cool effect and leaves no awkward lulls while you're dancing. Our guests had really positive things to say about him, and several of them said that he was the best DJ they've heard!
  
  Even more than his amazing DJ skills, Joel was instrumental in the flow and structure of our wedding. He helped the event stay on time and was communicative and proactive the whole evening. He even helped us determine the layout of the reception and sequence of events - he seriously went above and beyond!
  
  Joel was our favorite vendor by FAR and we are so grateful to have been able to work with him. If you are thinking about booking Joel for your wedding or other celebration, don't mull it over for another second - BOOK HIM!!! You will not be disappointed.
