    Fantastic!

    Leila is a sweetheart and was fantastic to work with! From the makeup trial, to the big day of my wedding, it was a great experience overall. She answered all of my questions I had over that period of time leading up to my wedding. She is very talented with makeup and reiterated for me to speak up if I wanted anything changed, that it was most important for me to be absolutely happy with the outcome, and I was. My bridesmaid who got her makeup done and who was getting married herself a month later, wanted to switch her makeup artist to Leila because she loved her work so much! I highly recommend Shimmered Beauty!

    4/17/21 wedding

    Leila and her team were first class! From the first time meeting Leila for my trial, I knew she would be a great fit. She is so easy to talk to and wants to make sure you receive the exact hair/makeup you desire for your day. She took so much time to talk with me over the phone about my questions. I had a total of 12 girls doing hair/makeup and Leila and her team worked flawlessly the day of and everyone was ready in time with some time to spare! Its safe to say our entire family will be seeking services with her team going forward. You will not be disappointed!

    Wedding Hair & Makeup

    When I first reached out to Leila at Shimmered Beauty, she was very quick to respond. You could say I was in a time crunch, needing a new hair & makeup team for 7 girls two weeks before my wedding. Leila was easy to communicate with, and she was the woman to get the job done. Leila and her two stylists arrived on time and prepared the day of the wedding. Our hair & makeup came out great, and every single bridesmaid was very happy with their results. Leila & her team at Shimmered Beauty helped in creating a beautiful wedding for us.

    Bridal/Bridesmaid Hair Stylings

    Wow!!! What can I say? Where can I start?! Leila is absolutely AMAZING!! I had my wedding on 8/25/19. I was a very picky bride. Not difficult or rude, but I knew what I wanted and how difficult my hair can be. During my trial I showed Leila what I envisioned and wanted for my bridal hair style. She let me know that I would need extensions for this type of hair style and ordered a PERFECT MATCH for my hair color!!! Truly, it was amazing. Three days before my wedding, I had a hair "emergency" with my extensions. Leila literally came to my house within 24 hours, sat me down figured out what I wanted/needed (when I didn't even know what that was) and fixed the problem. She had me and all of my family in tears at how honest, sweet, kind and compassionate she was. Leila is worth every dollar you will spend. The team also did a great job on my bridesmaids and mother of the bride hair styles. I wouldn't have wanted anyone else there to help me on my special day!! Leila, you are a beautiful person inside and out. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU is all I can say!! Don't look any further. Hire Shimmered Beauty today!!

    Very Professional and Beautiful Results!

    The Hair Couture team was amazing! They were so professional and pleasant to deal with. The day of my wedding they did an amazing job making sure my bridesmaids, mom, flower girl and I were organized and had our hair makeup done perfectly. They were so organized that we were even ready ahead of schedule. I can honestly say I have never been happier with my hair and makeup in my life- they are true artists! I highly recommend them!

    Dissapointed

    I've spent a long time reflecting on this experience before deciding how to post this.

    I was really excited to work with Leila and therefore very sad to post this. At my trial and over the phone she went above and beyond to really show her passion and dedication. She spent 2 full hours working on my hair at the trial and wound up creating something so beautiful that I wasn’t even expecting. At this point I would have rated her and her work as a 20/10.

    She informed me that I would be her only wedding of the day and that she was dedicated to me and my party. As we approached the wedding i worked with her closely on a timeline of events. I added a couple extra girls which she assured me would not be a problem and i was told to dedicate 30 minutes per 2 girls for my schedule. This was important to me because some of the girls would not be there first thing in the morning and I needed to set expectations for their arrival time.

    Leila and her assistant arrived right on time the morning of my wedding and got right to work. Here’s where we started hitting problems. She was working so fast she wound up getting through all of us in 1/2 the time expected. She got annoyed when my whole party wasn’t there to finish up early which left a sour taste in my mouth. but I explained to her that they were all on time for their time slots (I requested they all show up 30 min early). At the end Leila ended up leaving early. Her assistant remained behind and finished up the appointments according to our schedule. Her assistant was fantastic we loved her.

    My head piece started falling out after about an hour. My girls hair kept falling from their curls. And we ended up sitting around a lot on my wedding day with nothing planned due to the hours of extra time we hadn’t planned for.

    Overall she did a fine job. I really am not sure what the rush was for. Perhaps she had another booking after me?

    I’d rate her services a 6.5/10. But to go from a 20/10 to a 6.5/10 was pretty disappointing.

    Continuously tries to overcharge- beware & have everything in writing

    At first I rated this vendor 5 stars, for the mere fact that I felt highly pressured to do so during the trial. Leila repeatedly told me to not forget to write a review online and I was already committed to her being my hair and mua for my wedding, so I did not want to rate under 5 stars just in case she sabotaged my wedding day.

    Three separate times Leila has tried to overcharge me from our original & updated agreement. The first time was for the hair and makeup trial. The second time was for the day before the wedding when I got my nails and eyebrows threaded. The third time was on the actual wedding day when she "just realized" I added in a bridesmaid, even though we already discussed it through FB messenger.

    Each time she tried to overcharge me I had to go into our conversations online and prove to her the truth- that we already agreed to a certain amount for the total price, which went higher when we added in the bridesmaid. Leila tried to play it off cool and made it seem like she was being nice by "honoring" her word in the end for each situation.

    During the trial she continuously kept telling me that I needed extensions to get the look I wanted for my hair. Since she was so adamant about extensions I decided to go online and purchase some that were on sale. When I mentioned through messenger to Leila that I got the extensions she gave a lot of attitude because I did not buy hers. I felt really uncomfortable with the way she was acting, but tried to brush it off.

    The day of the wedding- when she opened up the packaging of the extensions I brought with me she was extremely negative and wouldn't stop being snarky about the extensions. My happy wedding day mood was beginning to get sour and negative. I kept trying to ignore her negativity, which was hard. I began to feel bad even though I did nothing wrong. Later I found out that my mother-in-law, bridesmaid, and maid of honor were silently getting furious for the way shimmered beauty was acting and almost snapped at shimmered beauty to stop behaving and speaking with an attitude and for the fact that shimmered beauty tried to make me pay even more when that wasn't what was agreed upon.

    Shimmered beauty worked extremely fast doing everyone's hair and makeup. At the trial it took about an hour and a half for her to do both services for me, but the day of was easily half the time. She originally made one eyebrow of mine noticeably darker than the other and I had to request her to make the color shade the same. Not that big of a deal, I just figured someone with that much experience would notice that difference, especially since it was on the bride.

    In the long run I was, and still am, very disappointed with Leila's professionalism.

    First and foremost, congratulations on your wedding.

    Second, defamation of character is against the law. From the moment you came in for your trial for your wedding date, your vibe was nothing but negative. You had continuously communicated to me how a wedding was a waste of money and that you, if given the choice, wouldn’t even have one. You felt that paying out for a wedding was an unnecessary expense.

    You then proceeded To haggle me on the price I charge for services. On top of that, I try to accommodate you the best I could without under compensating myself. You then continuously asked for extras. Which, I was more than happy to accommodate you in hopes to make you happy.

    Your trial, you showed me an inspirational photo which required extensions to achieve. I am not in the market to spend someone else’s money, as I work very hard for mine.

    Whenever giving any services, there is a contract for the exact reason of having everything clear as crystal in black-and-white. So overcharging anyone, it’s not something Shimmered Beauty does. ( you got many free services)

    At the end of the day, everything is in writing! On your wedding day, you had taken the liberty to buy extensions, you thought were fit. After your consultation, where I in detail explain to you the difference between a good extension and bad one so that you could achieve your best ok , you persisted to buy your own, and which would compromise the end result of my work.
    Setting expectations is extremely important, and by me telling you that the extensions you had, after seeing them for the first time on your wedding day, it’s not snarling in any form. It is being honest so that expectations are met.

    I was nothing but professional to you, we worked with your timeline, which you changed multiple times.

    To underpaid and under appreciate any vendor, is not reason for you to say that someone was overcharging you.

    The only wrong thing we did, was refuse service. At the end of the day we all want to make an honest living, and for you to defame my company because of your negativity is not OK.

    So to trying to caution other brides of false information, would be slander. In any event, we do wish you the best in the future.

    Adds stress to your wedding day!!

    A few stars only because Leila did a good job on my hair for my wedding day. 0 stars for her customer service skills they are ABHORRENT. I have never been treated so disrespectfully for the amount of money I had paid. I knew things were bad when I texted her 2 Saturdays before my wedding asking a question. Knowing wedding season was in full swing I wasn’t expecting an answer right away which is fine. In the evening when she did respond she was snippy with her reply because to sum up, I basically was bothering her on a Saturday in the summer. EXCUSE ME?! did I follow up with 100 texts asking why she wasn’t answering me? Did I call over and over?! No!! Then NO JOKE this really blew me through the roof she was legit texting and calling ME all day the day before my wedding asking a gazillion question about dying my extensions and making them the right color when I gave her the contact info of my hair stylist the week before. NOT MY PROBLEM YOU ARE SLOPPY AND DISORGANIZED. Leila really doesn’t understand how to treat customers at all. I was so pissed off. Then the morning of my wedding she texted me a 7 AM to reschedule her time because she double booked herself and was greedy and wanted to make more money. Are you effing kidding me?! She lied and said my wedding coordinator wanted her to come earlier for the pictures which was so laughable, because there is no way in hell my professional wedding coordinator would’ve RE-booked one of my vendors without running it by me first. We got to the venue and she was already waiting there when I agreed to the new time of 10:30 she was there 30 minutes early. I was literally so pissed off I was shaking when she showed up and she must have known because she was pretty apologetic (for once!) she did my hair quickly but did a good job, glad it was fast so she could get the hell away from me on my wedding day where she added WAY more stress. I strongly cannot recommend her- she is way too unprofessional and adds so much stress to your wedding day which as a bride, you already have enough of!

    I am Astonished to say the least at this review. I was nothing but more than professional with you.
    I have that text message from the Saturday that you were referring to, and I was nothing but pleasant and apologized for not getting back to you at the time you texted because, yes it was a Saturday and I was working. Nothing wrong with explaining myself.
    I will be more than happy to attach that response and it was professional and respectful. If you had a photographer coming in at 12 noon a start time of 1030 to give us an hour is not God awful. I’m not really sure where I went wrong with you. With every text I responded almost immediately.

    I’m glad that you loved your hair, and that is the main thing. Wedding season is stressful for both pride and vendors combined. Especially for this year with Covid applying so much demand. No, I am not money greedy, but thank you for making that projection.


    Your review is nothing shy of insulting after answered every inquiry in a timely fashion it was most professional. Like I said before, I do have all of your text messages.

    At the end of the day, I followed guidelines from your coordinator. That is what she’s there for. Wishing you all the best.

    No show 5 star beauty salon

    Imagine being a bride who has been through whirlwinds trying to find the perfect hair and makeup artist for your big day that you waited over a decade for. That’s what I thought I signed up for at least with Shimmered Beauty. I did my homework- just like many of you reading this are probably doing. I checked the reviews, I searched the portfolio. I was impressed with the amazing photos and 5 star reviews so I reached out to Leila for a trial and made a deposit; trusting the fact that nothing could go wrong- especially considering the fact that she was well aware of all my troubles throughout this process and assured that would never be a factor working with her. I reach out a couple days prior to the trial to confirm we’re still good to go and I was informed she needed to change the time to 3pm. Okay, not a big deal I thought to myself. I wake up this past Saturday beyond excited to meet Leila and have my trial. I drive over an hour to get to Shimmered Beauty and call her to inform I have arrived. No answer and went straight to voicemail. This is when I knew something was off. I texted her and she informs me she’s still at a wedding (at this point, my appointment was in 15 min – mind you, I was already asked to push out my time once). I give it the benefit of the doubt and continue waiting. I call again, no answer. 3 o’clock on the dot comes around and I receive a text that she will not be there any time before 4:30pm. EXCUSE ME, WHAT?! An hour and a half late after driving over an hour to get there, over an hour to get back home, getting a baby sitter, planning a date night, etc. And to not inform your client that you’re going to be late, never mind an hour and a half late until the time of your appointment was starting? Via text message, at that. Of course, I get the typical “horrible accident” excuse. (PS- no accidents were in site or reported when I looked). My train of thought was- if you were 15 min from home just a little while ago, how could you possibly be in an hour and a half worth of traffic? Apparently someone else was supposed to come do my trial but she was running late from another wedding somewhere else. Mind you, I was never informed that anyone else was doing my trial and at 2:30 when I texted her to let her know I had arrived a little early, she said “I’m still at a wedding, we discussed 3.” – again, no mention of someone else arriving to meet me. I immediately requested my deposit back and couldn’t even process what just happened. My nightmare situation coming true. I will admit, she offered to provide a complimentary trial but how could I possible ever trust the fact she (or whoever is supposed to show up) will be at my wedding on time, or at all for that matter? Personally, no dollar sign could risk that potential circumstance. I cannot risk receiving a text message at the time of my ceremony that they will not be able to make it. Brides, I am not writing this review to discourage you, I am simply writing this review because all of those out there searching for the perfect hair and makeup artist just like I did, deserve to know the truth. This was my personal experience and maybe it’s just bad luck on my part; but I truly hope that you don’t sign up for a no call no show on your trial and/or wedding day.

    First, I would like to start off my response by extending my deepest apology to the mishap that happened on the date of your trial. As this is no means to excuse the delay to a trial, we are all human and certain things occur that out of your control while being a mobile stylist.

    An entire refund of your deposit was rightfully returned to you and a complementary trial along with a FREE wedding was extended to compensate for your inconvenience. As a business owner, I am not sure really what to do to rectify something that was out of my control.

    As you so stated, you have been In a whirlwind finding the best stylist for your big day, and I truly do feel that you took out your entire frustration of that experience out on me. It is unfortunate that the situation came down to this but I do feel that we did EVERYTHING we could to make up for your lost time.



    As this, by far is no indication of how I ever conduct my business, we will take this opportunity to learn and grow, as growth does come from shortcomings. I take pride in my work, my work ethic, and do the best that I possibly can to always be there at all hours of the day for all of my brides. I hold my head up high as a business owner, as a mother myself and working woman in the industry.

    I may have one negative star from you, but I do have 5 stars from 100s of brides that can attest to my work, my company, my dedication, my service and my loyalty to it.

    As a conclusion of this experience, I look to find solutions to problems. I tried several ways in order to solve the situation, unfortunately to no avail.

    Again we are deeply sorry for this inconvenience, and we do hope you find someone who fits your needs.
