I can't say enough about Rock Ford. We are a gay couple, living in a very conservative Lancaster County. From the moment we met Meagen, we felt comfortable being us. We didn't have to change who we were. Being two guys, not knowing anything about weddings or how to do the wedding, Meagen helped us from step 1 till the final step. The site was gorgeous, lots of wild deer, cool history and house. This site was way more affordable then the other competitors out there and definitely worth every penny.Historic Rock Ford's reply:

Beautiful place for a beautiful day!
Rockford was the first and only venue my wife and I visited for our big day! We instantly knew it was for us. From a beautiful setting out of the heart of Lancaster, to a wonderful coordinator in Meagan Lebo. This venue was absolutely perfect. Meagan was so helpful every step of the way and answered any questions we had immediately! She was even there to oversee the big night and fit right in like she was another member of the crowd! The venue was given to us for the ENTIRE weekend which gave us SO much flexibility for setup and clean up. We could not have asked for a better night/weekend. I would highly recommend Rockford Plantation to anyone and everyone! -

User2248381 Sent on 07/29/2015This is a perfect place for a wedding. It is absolutely beautiful. We had the ceremony in front of the house, and there were deer watching in the background. We had our reception in the barn, and got the tent outside for dancing and cocktails. This is a DIY venue, and I'm so glad I chose it because I was able to make the wedding everything I wanted it to be. Nancy was wonderful to work with. She was great at keeping in touch and quick to answer any questions. You get the venue for the entire weekend which made setting up much less stressful, and clean up could wait until Sunday! Every one of my guests commented that this was the perfect place for a wedding! -
User1334002 Sent on 09/17/2013My wedding at the Rock Ford Plantation was absolutely wonderful! Nancy was great in responding to me about all of my questions in a very quick and professional manner. The property is so nice and well maintained.
All of my guests said the property and decorations matched the personalities of myself and my husband.
We even had people dressed in costumes from the 1700s to match the history of the Rock Ford.
It was perfect!

User1679491 Sent on 06/25/2014We just had our wedding here on 5/17/14 and I couldn't have been happier with our experience at Rock Ford. It is one of the more affordable places in Lancaster and it is so beautiful there. It's also very private since you have use of the whole grounds. It was so great to be able to set up on Friday and clean up on Sunday. It made our wedding day so much more enjoyable knowing we didn't have to rush everyone out at night so we could clean up. While it is a lot of work to set everything up and coordinate all of the vendors, it was definitely worth it. We saved a ton of money on the alcohol alone since we could supply our own and not have to buy it from the venue, which probably saved us a few thousand. No one at our wedding had ever been there before as most were from out of the area, but we got so many compliments. Everyone couldn't stop talking about how great it was there. Nancy is also very responsive through email or phone. And she is always willing to show you the barn whenever you need to see it for planning. I highly recommend Rock Ford!

Best Day Ever!
I really can’t say anything bad about this venue! The venue is absolutely stunning, there are SO many breathtaking places to take photos, and having the wedding in front of the historic house was so special. Highly recommend adding on the tours of the home during cocktail hour, we heard so many wonderful things from the guests that went on the tours. I also recommend adding on the lanterns for the walkway, it created amazing photos for when we were leaving the venue and felt so special and romantic. The Rental Coordinator, Amanda, was responsive and prompt, as well as accommodating to what our vision was for our evening. -

User1387677 Sent on 10/19/2013We had our wedding at Rock Ford Plantation on 9/28/13. We fell in love with Rock Ford on our very first visit. The barn, the grounds, and the historic house were just gorgeous, we knew it would be perfect for us.
Nancy was always very approachable and answered any questions we had within a day or two. She does not use email, however, she would ALWAYS return calls within a few hours to one day. The grounds keeper Brian, who we met the day of, always was very kind, and definitely kept everything clean, the grass well cut, and was a very professional parking attendant.
We had a simply perfect day. Our ceremony was in front of the house. We used the barn for our buffet, bar, and more of a hangout room during the cocktail hour and reception. And we had a tent for the reception. Everyone gave us a million compliments and also loved it as much as we did.
My only one complaint is that since it is within a park, there may be other people on the grounds. Prior to our wedding, there were excavations. So there were a couple of areas on the grounds that were dug up and covered with a tarp. That would have been my only complaint. However, the people left before the ceremony, and everything else was just so wonderful.
Lastly, compared to other sites, especially closer to Philly, they are very affordable. They also allow you to start decorating Friday before the wedding, and clean up Sunday morning. That was very nice to have the whole weekend. -
Ashton Sent on 11/12/2017If you are looking to customize every detail of your wedding, definitely take a look at Rock Ford! We were on a tight budget, and though the venue took up the biggest chunk of that budget, we were able to pick every other vendor and detail of our wedding, and DIYed most of it! Nancy was very helpful in answering all of our questions, and making sure she could accommodate all of our requests to the best of her ability. Though some of our older family members had some trouble getting around the property and using the tight restrooms, everyone raved about how beautiful and unique the venue was. Being able to set up the day before and tear down the day after our wedding was an invaluable option, and we used every minute of that time to transform the barn and tent to our liking. This venue was perfect for us, because we were looking to save some money by planning and decorating everything ourselves, and we wanted the flexibility to make it unique to us, but if you aren't willing to take on all those details (or hire someone to do it for you), it might not be for you.
