This venue was f-ing amazing. We stayed for a week before the wedding and had the time of our lives. Ken and his staff were so helpful and accommodating and the venue is BEAUTIFUL. The food was amazing, some of the best food I've had in my entire life. Ken had great recommendations for vendors and things to do during the week. He does this all the time and he knows exactly what works and what doesn't. Ken is easy going and isn't afraid to give advice about how to make your wedding day go smoothly. The only problem is the website is confusing and has conflicting information about prices and the number of beds in the yurts. Ken will clear these questions up if you ask, he is very responsive. Seriously amazing venue, I wish I could get married there all over again :)
Precious Forest was magical for us and our family and friends. Ken was great. He was really responsive and catered to our every need. We stayed there for the week with our family and spent the days crafting for the wedding and lounging around. It was really special to have that time all together and by the time the wedding weekend rolled around, we were relaxed and felt comfortable at our venue (which was truly amazing for the day-of). It was so freeing to be able to set up as we liked and at the time that we wanted, with our friends and family helping. Ken and the staff were so friendly, welcoming and accommodating. There was no stuffiness to our wedding! Just genuine people helping us to live out our dream day. We highly recommend Precious Forest. It's the perfect rustic, do-what-you-want venue and having friends & family help decorate and set up brought a special communal feeling for our day. Oh and the sunsets were the icing on the cake!
My (now) wife and I got married here on May 14th, 2016, and absolutely loved it. I'm going to break this review into a few sections.
Ken Stiritz -- the owner and General Manager -- was a true joy to work with throughout the process. He knows the wedding business inside and out and is the perfect mix of totally relaxed, chill, casual, and fun to talk to that you'd want for a low-key venue like Precious forest and very organized, on top of his stuff, and knowing how to Get Stuff Done. All of his staff that live or work on site went out of their way to be helpful.
Precious Forest is stunning. Multiple good spots for the ceremony, plenty of room for dinner and dancing (we had ~80 guests).
Frankly, we fell in love with the location and would have gotten married there even if the food wasn't good, but we're food snobs from the Bay Area and we, and all our guests, were extremely impressed; people came up to me all night saying it was the best wedding, or catered, food they'd ever had. Basically, a BBQ / smoker / carving station and a huge amount of different great salads. We did the "Mexican" menu Friday as well for our rehearsal dinner.
For the price, the tent cabins are clean, comfortable, with electrical power, nice mattresses, and so on. The sweetheart cabin is small, but really cute, as is its outside bathroom + Kitchen. The main cabin / lodge is really nice; think rustic hunting lodge. Room for a LOT of tents. There's a total of three flush toilets on site, plus two outdoor showers and two bathtubs.
You can bring in your own alcohol. You get the venue from Tuesday to Sunday morning for a Saturday morning, so nice and relaxed setup and tear down. There's relatively limited quiet hours or noise restrictions. There's a great setup for a late night campfire.
In short, we had a great wedding, and recommend you book in a heartbeat it if you want a place like this.
I had my wedding this summer at Precious Forest over 4th of July weekend. It was absolutely perfect! We camped for 5 days with 30 of our closest friends and family and had the best time. Ken (the owner) and his staff (really wonderful people), truly care about his property and making his guests happy and it really shows in the venue and level of service. Every single attendee at our wedding said it was the BEST wedding they had EVER been to. Having so many days to celebrate, and time to prepare for the wedding a day in advance was priceless. We also used Precious Forest as our caterers. The food was insanely delicious. Unlike most other wedding food, it was so fresh and full of flavor. Bottom line- Precious Forest is so great that some of our friends are planning a vow renewal there next summer! I do recommend a scout trip if you have time. I went for a long weekend in January to see it in person and just fell in love with the property. Winter or summer, Precious Forest is the BEST!!
Ken and his team were awesome. I've had so many compliments on the food since the wedding. Many have said it's the best wedding food ever, and one of the best meals they've ever had. We had the most wonderful, relaxed, mountain wedding!
Ken was amazing, the food was amazing, the place was amazing. What can I say it was amazing Lol. I recommend this place to everyone. Thank you Ken for making our dreams come true! We will return for a visit soon.
If you are looking for a rustic private retreat from city life then you've found what you're looking for. Precious Forest is a wonderful site to have a wedding. It's a long road up the mountain but worth the drive. This is where beauty and adventure meet to create the space for your guests to gather. If you enjoy camping, cabins, cozy wood burning stoves, kind and attentive pets and an escape from city madness, then this is the place for you! My wife and I had a wonderful wedding and vacation in Precious Forest. The cabin is romantic and cozy, the grounds spacious and exactly what we were looking for. We were even able to have my rock band play outside at our reception. Really fun! Ken and Katie are hard working, kind and gracious hosts who made my wife and I and our newly combined families feel very comfortable and welcome. They also provided our catering with an amazing feast which was enjoyed by all. We really appreciate the time we spent there and have many fond memories we will cherish for a lifetime.
