If we could give them higher than a 5 out of 5 we would. Naomi and Bill are fantastic. They are a husband and wife team. They like to meet all of their clients before they book. We have loved them since we first met them. To us it was very important that we had two photographers and a digital copy of all of our pictures. They create a package and pricing to what is going to work for you so not everyone is the same nor is the price. They do an engagement session. I wasn't thinking of having one but since they offered it, we took it. It was perfect we had so much fun and were really relaxed. They got to know us before the wedding which is going to reflect in our pictures on our wedding day. We had some odd requests of things that we wanted to try and they were up for anything. We just got to see our sneak peak of our pictures (our wedding was only 3 days ago) and I am so thrilled and cannot wait to see the rest.Sent on 10/15/2013
I recommend them to absolutely anyone and everyone and strongly recommend that you at least talk to them if not book them I know we will be booking Portrait New England in the future (baby bump shots, babies ect)

Naome and Bill are great! I really don't think I can say enough good things about them! We were on, what we learned very quickly, a tight budget for a wedding - we almost thought we wouldn't be able to have photography at our wedding or if we did we were going to have to settle for less than great, until we found Ptrait New England. The service that they offer is incredible for the price! All of my pictures came out awesome! Your wedding day goes by so fast and I hardly remembered dancing or having fun and was actually a little bummed out afterwards - until I looked at my pictures and clearly had the best time!! They got shots of everyone and everything and the pictures were ready for us to view in a very timely manner.Sent on 08/22/2013
They are amazing to work with we had booked them to shoot our wedding at one location on one date- we found out we were pregnant and we had to re arrange everything including the date and venue all of the changes we threw at them were gladly accepted with not one problem arising from it! They were even nice enough to shoot pictures of us with our newborn instead of engagement pictures! I truly can't say enough about these two they are great- they are quick to respond to e-mails and often run good promotions that get you either something discounted or free!! You will not regret choosing them!!

We found them incredibly professional, timely and really affordable. Although we haven't seen the pictures from the wedding, the engagement photos they took for us were really great. They truly captured who we are as a couple. Also, they were always there when important events were happening, but didn't make it feel like they were in your face. They were simply there. We also really enjoyed working with them as a pair. They both have different styles and that comes through in their pictures, which diversifies their shots even more. I would definitely hire them in the future and would recommend them to a friend.Sent on 09/12/2012

Working all over New England, Bill and Naome Bray of Portrait New England were super easy to work with. We hired them because they offered a great package at a reasonable price (rare find), and they weren't full of themselves (also apparently rare, or so it seemed to us). We did an engagement session, largely because we're both totally uncomfortable with the idea of being followed around with our camera. Bill and Naome made it so comfortable - they just hung out with us for a couple of hours. And the engagement pictures are awesome - they delivered a product of natural pictures with an artistic touch. At the wedding, they seemed to be in all the right places at the right times, but were never in the way or awkwardly placed. We've just started to see the first 'teaser' wedding pictures, and are amazed at some of the shots, because they somehow got these great angles without being at all obtrusive…we can’t wait to see the rest of the pictures! Great people, great price, great service!!Sent on 07/10/2012

Anyone who wants an AMAZING photographer or an AMAZING price, look no further than Portrait New England. We first met Bill and Naome for our "interview" and I immediately felt at ease with them. We had our engagement session, which was great and the pictures really capture our personalities and style. They are unique and have a very artistic manner about them. For our wedding, they arrived as we were getting ready and really captured all the moments of the day...from hair and make-up and getting dressed, to toasting and dancing. They were there for it all, and our sunset photos by the beach are like nothing I've ever seen before. We can't wait to get our albums! Their packages are SO reasonable and they do tremendous work!Sent on 10/25/2011

What really struck us in Bill Bray's photos (both on the site and in his albums) was what natural expressions he had gotten from the participants. Looking only at his site, we were not sure whether this was just because the particular couples were very expressive people. However, it was clear in his albums that he was able to put all the couples and other participants at ease enough to get natural expressions from them.Sent on 12/19/2009
We also liked the fact that he was clearly at ease with nontraditional couples. One of the couples featured on his site includes a bride with a large tattoo. Another is an interracial couple. The third is a couple who had actually been married for three years already, and had a toddler daughter. However, they had had to have a quickie wedding because the groom was in the military and being sent to Iraq. They therefore had a big ceremony three years later, when he returned. Bill was clearly at ease with the idea of a lesbian couple, and indeed asked us if he could use our photos on his site.
Bill was very good at the ceremony, managing to get his shots in without creating disruptions in the preparations or the ceremony. When the ceremony started a half hour late, he volunteered to stay late at no charge to make sure he got all the photos we wanted.
The photos he took were absolutely gorgeous! (My icon is a small version of one of his photos.) The only minor issue with him was that we probably should have given him more direction on the photos we wanted. His focus was almost completely on us and our attendants during the ceremony. Thus, he did not get pictures of our guests giving readings, blessings, etc. However, this was a minor quibble: He did take gorgeous formals of all our guests in the garden behind the synagogue after the ceremony, and we managed to fill in other pictures we wanted by having our guests upload the pictures they took.

Bill and Naome were absolutely wonderful to work with! They were very professional and at the same time laid back, which helped me and my husband relax (we are not good at getting our pictures taken lol). They caught every wonderful moment between me and my husband and our guests on our wedding day. They really did capture all the love! I couldnt believe how amazing the pictures came out and how affordable it all was at the same time. I look back at my pictures a year and a half later and still get teary eyed as I see pictures of all the special moments they captured. If you want professionals who will capture all the intimate, special moments of your day, definitely hire Portrait New England for your wedding/event!Sent on 02/22/2012

I first met Bill and Naome as a bridesmaid in my friend’s wedding in August 2012 and contacted them immediately when I became engaged in February 2012. I remembered how beautiful the pictures were from the wedding I was in along with the unique photos taken. I requested their prices and they offered to work with us to create a package that would best suite us. We met with Bill and decided to use their services. We chose to have a short engagement and needed to take our engagement pictures as soon as possibly in order to have our save the dates out. They scheduled with us within the month and we had our pictures within a month from that point. The day of our pictures the weather ended up being cold rainy and freezing , we were able to get some great shots but they offered to reshoot if we weren’t satisfied. The week before the wedding my Dad unfortunately had a heart attack and would need major surgery which would result in him missing the wedding. When I informed Bill and Naome they quickly offered to come to the hospital to take pictures of me with my Dad on my wedding day. This gesture meant the world to me and my father and helped him handle the fact that he couldn’t be there on my wedding day.Sent on 10/09/2012
At the hospital they were professional and supportive of the sensitivity of the situation with my Dad. Through the wedding they were everywhere they needed to be and were open to trying new poses and pictures, even taking suggestions from my bridesmaids when they wanted additional photos with me. At the end of the night when leaving I asked if we missed any shots and they stayed to make sure we had everything we needed. I cannot wait to see the pictures but am confident they will be beautiful.

EDIT: We finally received our photos this week (about 17 1/2 weeks after our wedding) and the photos are absolutely beautiful. Because of this I have increased their value and quality of service rating, but overall I would not recommend them.Sent on 11/21/2015
It is completely unacceptable to have not received our photos or access to our online gallery as photography is possibly one of the most important vendors for the wedding day because these pictures are what we would have to look back on our special day forever. They had a lower price than most other photographers in the area, but as it appears we paid to get nothing in return so the value is not that great. Also, the day of the wedding Bill was great to work with, but Naome was somewhat rude to both of our fathers and there were several times throughout the day where I silently wished we had gone with just the one photographer.
Naome had told me that they are getting out of the business and I think this is a great choice so that no other couple has to suffer from wasting their money on photos that they will never receive.

This is very hard for me because I really wanted to give them a 5 star review. Bill and Naome were very nice from the moment we contacted them, they were very polite, answering all my questions in no time. Also they are very affordable, a thing we needed since we had a small budget for a small wedding.Sent on 02/06/2015
The day of the wedding they showed up on time. Bill took a few pictures of me and immediately left to take pictures of the groom and his party (which I liked) and Naome stayed taking pictures of me and the girls as we got ready. During the day it rained and they still wanted to go out with us to take pictures and once it got sunny they asked if we wanted to take a few more, which we loved.
Now you might wonder why the low rating. The problem came after the wedding. They promised the pictures to be ready from 6-8 weeks (starting december) so we decided to wait until we got them to send the thank you cards with a picture of us. Once the 8 weeks passed I wrote Naome asking if they would take too long and she explained that had a few problems and I would have the pictures by christmas which didn't happen. Starting January she told me the disc was ready to be mailed but I never got it. I tried to contact them and I didn't get any answers, I mailed Naome every day wondering what was happening, her phone was out of service, I called Bill, left voice mails and texted. After 3 weeks I got a text message back saying they sent the disc and gave me an excuse of why they haven't been communicating, but after reading other reviews I don't know if believe it. Today after 17 weeks I finally got the pictures so I'm finally relaxed, but annoyed since our contract said 4-12 weeks.
Bill and Naome are good and affordable photographers, but if you need someone answering you on time and you don't want a delay with your pictures I wouldn't go with them. If you have no problem with waiting as long as they want, they are the photographers for you, because they do a good job at the wedding.

Very quick to respond to my inquiry once I contacted them the first time. Our engagement photos went well. The day of the wedding, Bill and Naome just kinda showed up and were like ok we are here what do you want us to do? I wish they would have given us more direction. I'm just not in love with our photos - I feel like anyone with a nice camera and a basic editing program could have done them. It was super hot on our wedding day and my chest is a bit red and I asked them to photoshop that and they were going to charge me extra money for their time- I thought it was a pretty minor request. It took 3 months to get my photos back, which is a lot longer than the 4-8 weeks they originally said. You get what you pay for.Sent on 01/01/2015

I haven't received my pictures back yet but I'm not worried! Portrait New England was great. They arrived early to the hotel when we were getting ready and for the rest of the night I barely knew they were there! The dance floor was very dark and they were honest with me that pictures weren't coming out great. It was no problem I had the venue turn up the lights a little and the rest of the night was fine! I appreciated their honestly rather than getting back a bunch of dark pictures!Sent on 07/25/2013
Update: It's been a year an a half since my wedding and apparently I should have been worried. They were late getting us our pictures and I still haven't received my album. I've tried contacting them through email and by phone. Their company phone is out of business and Naome doesn't answer the cell phone number she gave me nor does she have a voice mail set up - how convenient. She did respond to a few emails after I said I was going to hire a lawyer, I saw the proofs of my album and was promised I would have it by Thanksgiving. Big surprise it never arrived and they have stopped responding again. After I contacted them they deleted my pictures off of their website AND blocked their Facebook page. Naome did say they were going out of business this year and that's probably a good idea since no other brides will have to deal with their lack of communication and their lack of professionalism.

Portrait NewEngland is a tota.l rip-off. After the wedding never responded to my emails and calls attempted, and I never got my wedding photos. it's been almost two years now. While taking shoots, they never took varieties of positions and took only fake postures. Never believe them; Bill and Naome Bray. Even emails I receive a failure to receive which proves they are fake and complete fraud. I sued them.Sent on 12/07/2013
