The Pleasant Point Inn is one of those truly special hidden gems in Western Maine. Located in Lovell along the shores of Kezar Lake, this beautiful New England Inn does it all. When I graduated high school, this was where we went for dinner with my family & it was fantastic. There was no doubt in my mind that Pleasant Point would be my go-to spot for our wedding.
This Inn is run by two sisters, Susan (who runs the restaurant) & Laurie (who runs the Inn). You can have your ceremony at the Inn on the lawn as we did, or if there was rain, they will set up indoors in front of the beautiful fireplace or in the screened in porch in the gazebo. They shut down the Inn and only permit wedding guests to be on site, so you have the run of the place, from use of the docks, beach, &canoes. Plus, you don't have to worry about having angry guests not affiliated with your wedding.
For dinner you can choose buffet or plated meals, with a whole gamut of food to choose from. Susan is incredibly flexible as well, so if you need an extra hors d'oeuvre or an additional side for the buffet, she is ok with it. She was incredible with the wine! I work in the wine business & to not have quality wines with my stamp of approval would be blasphemy. She was kind enough to work with two distributors in Maine to buy the wines I wanted & push those, even though we had an open bar. There is a lobby where the bar is located. Then we opened up the reception area, which also hosted the dance floor. They can seat up to 120.
The Inn can hold up to 32 people & they can hold more in the surrounding cabins. My one note would be that they weren't always as efficient in responding to guests. However, they made sure that the bride had final approval of each room to make sure your guests are appropriately accommodated.
Thank you to Susan, Laurie, Bob the chef, and the rest of the staff for an amazing weekend!
