Shannon and her team at Pelican Lakes made our dream wedding a reality! Shannon helped us with every step of the wedding, she was beyond helpful. We had our ceremony at the Lakeside Bridge and it was absolutely breath taking. The reception was held in the reception hall and with the draping and lights it looked magical. I felt very welcome and heard by everyone at Pelican Lakes. I would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a venue!Sent on 08/11/2018

Shannon was wonderful and so helpful during the entire wedding planning process! She made things so easy, and was always easy to get ahold of and had many great ideas. We received tons of compliments on our venue and how beautiful it was at the island for our ceremony and reception. We also received several compliments on the food and drinks. I would highly recommend Pelican lakes as a beautiful venue and service that makes your day extra special!Sent on 10/09/2018

Our daughter and son-in-law were married on the island at Pelican Lakes and we could not be happier with the venue as well as the staff. We were all long distance and Shannon and her staff were extremely helpful during the planning process and through out the day of the wedding. She knew our plan/schedule and all details were taken care of. Everything looked beautiful and the guests loved the food.Sent on 07/24/2018

We had the most amazing winter wedding at Pelican Lakes Golf Course in their beautiful log reception venue! Shannon, the event planner, was the best and helped us really achieve our dream wedding! The wedding ran smoothly all thanks to their wonderful staff! They were so accommodating, it was literally perfect! They meet all my expectations, I would highly recommend this venue!Sent on 01/16/2017

This was the perfect venue!! My husband and I are some big golfers, so it was only appropriate to have our wedding at one of the most gorgeous golf courses in North Denver. We reserved the Private Island and everything was so spectacular! And our pictures are just jaw dropping from all the sights and backgrounds!Sent on 02/06/2017

Austin's Homestead is a beautiful location with several sites for the ceremony and/or reception. The island ceremony site is gorgeous and would have been a beautiful spot for my ceremony (unfortunately we were rained out). Anna, the event coordinator, and the staff worked diligently to quickly move my wedding indoors. Anna was a great coordinator throughout the whole process and was always quick to respond to my questions and emails. All the staff were polite, friendly and very professional. I highly recommend this venue!Sent on 07/26/2013

Austin's was an amazing place to have my wedding. Anna, my coordinator, was extremely helpful and accommodating every step of the way. We got an AMAZING price for hosting our wedding on a Monday. I couldn't believe everything that was included with the price of the venue, it made my dream wedding possible on a small budget. The overall facility was beautiful! The sound system was great which was important because I didn't have a DJ. Austin's was the caterer for my brunch wedding and the food and service at brunch was outstanding. Obviously being brunch on a Monday, we didn't have much to do with the bar, but the servers/bartenders were great. The ONLY hiccup on the account of the venue was right as the ceremony was starting. My father and I were hidden waiting for our cue. I had told the coordinator to cue us to go once my song had been playing for about 15 seconds (it had a long intro). Well, right before then a ridiculous machine (lawn mower maybe) started RIGHT NEXT TO my ceremony and was SO loud. Then they gave me the cue, well, not only had my song not been playing for 15 seconds, the processional was still going. So I walked most of the way in complete silence. I was FURIOUS at the time, but forgot about it by the time the ceremony started. All else was wonderful. I will use it as a venue in the future and recommend to other couples.Sent on 09/03/2013

We got married on the island at Austin's Homestead. The Venue was beautiful and just what we were looking for. Jenn, the coordinator is phenominal! She is easy to work with, she follows through, is very organized and replies to your questions fast! She was by far the best vendor we worked with!!Sent on 09/09/2012

I had my ceremony on the Island at Pelican lakes. The ceremony was beautiful! I had it on the actual sand on the beach, it was perfect! It was a little hot as there is no shade.Sent on 07/16/2012
My reception was inside, in the banquet room. Food was great and so was the service. I did not have an open bar and drinks were a bit pricey for a cash bar. If you can afford to buy some kegs and wine I would do it.
The best part about having my wedding at Pelican Lakes was the staff. The wedding coordinator Jenn Kenders is unbelievable. She did everything I asked her to. She did not forget one thing! She even helped me decorate a bit :) I really feel like she cared for me and our wedding. I highly recommend working with her if possible. Very professional and great work ethic. I must have emailed her 100 questions and she always had time for me.
Thanks Jenn and Austins.

Bride insulted by group loitering in the parking lot while taking pictures. Venue response was that it wasn't members so apparently it's an issue they care not to deal with particularly since security guard couldn't wait to get out of the area. Watched staff take plate chargers out of factory packaging and place them directly on place settings without being washed. Hauled the bride and her expensive wedding gown in a beat up golf cart that seat repair, 5 months old that I know of, was done with duct tape which had curled to sticky side up. Anna drove bride around to wedding site like a maniac. Wedding seating was set up for 92 when we had and paid for 130 guests until we intervened. Ready area provided for the groom was filthy. Wait person was not available as described. Food was pretty good for wedding food, but expensive. Staff tried hard during reception but had oversights like not clearing the dirty plates from the couples sweetheart table for the entire evening and running out of plares for serving the wedding cake. Taylor and Billy and the reception staff were very helpful, responsive and tried hard. Austin's upper managemnt is lacking. Oh, after cashing your three deposit checks, they won't take your check for your bar bill. When they charge you 10 grand for your wedding, only offer them half and spend the rest on your own security so some buffoons they allow to loiter won't give you wedding memories you can't forget.Sent on 10/18/2013
Pelican Lakes Golf Club & Ted’s Sweetwater Grill's reply:We are so sorry to hear this about your experience with Pelican Lakes. I know this can in no way make up for these mistakes, but we are under completely new management, and the staff members mentioned have been replaced. We have also made great improvements to our venues, and wedding supplies.

For those looking to book your wedding here, you may want to reconsider. Beautiful venue, great food, but the customer service was atrocious and our night was ruined by the so called and self proclaimed "wedding coordinator." I should have known we were in trouble when this "wedding coordinator" expressed over and over how good she was. I should have known that actions are stronger than words and someone good at their job shouldn't have to brag on themselves. Since I'm limited, I will hit only the major disasters. First off, two of the "wedding coordinator's" drunk friends walked into our reception, refused to leave, demanded to see the "wedding coordinator"(mentioned her by name and told me they were her friends), and then tried to fight the groom when they were asked to leave. No apology or explanation was given by anyone. Then the "wedding coordinator" left and went home halfway through the reception without saying a word to anyone, and left us to fend for ourselves in closing up shop after she told us she would be there until the end of the event. When I contacted the manager of Austin's Homestead, I received nothing but excuses for the "wedding coordinator's" actions. The manager then told me he would contact me within a week after he had time to speak with his boss to see if a small consideration could be made for our troubles and he never contacted us again. I contacted the manager 2 1/2 months later and was told that he thought he was just going to leave it as it was. UNACCEPTABLE for the amount of money we paid.Sent on 11/01/2012
