Don't even hesitate. This was not in my budget but i splurged because i decided it was important. If you have to get rid of some other random silly little detail so you can afford it, just do it. It is worth it to have a day of coordinator. Kristyn was mine, and she did a great job. I was so much more calm just knowing she was there to help with all the weird little things that pop up. Their price beat every other reputable company i looked into in the area.
Kristyn was my DOC for my June wedding in Manhattan and she was AMAZING. Her response time was incredibly fast leading up to the wedding, and she was professional, organized, and had a very calming presence which was really helpful during such a crazy time. I highly recommend OUAE and would book with them again in a heartbeat!
I recently got married on April 23, 2016 - Donna was my attendant for the day and she was absolutely amazing. Everything was so relaxed and stress-free - especially since I was 6 months pregnant. She had two meetings with us before the wedding day to go over details/vendors - which made the entire process so great. Donna was by my side the entire wedding day helping anyone who needed anything - I will definitely recommend Once Upon An Event services in the future!!
I am so happy I made the last minute decision to hire a day-of-coordinator. All along I told myself I wouldn't spend the money but after a year of planning all the little details, I wanted to take a breath, and have someone help me make sure all my hard work turned out the way I had envisioned. Kristyn did just that. I am shy by nature but felt completely comfortable with Kristyn. She felt more like a close friend helping me through the day than a wedding vendor. She confirmed all my appointments and asked all the little details I asked her to confirm. I chose the 12 hour package and I'm glad I did. Kristyn was running around helping me from the moment she arrived until I was back in my hotel room after the wedding. I lost the groom's gift and she went an a hunt around the venue for it. She helped us coordinate the first look. She ran back and forth sooooo many times helping me, the groomsmen and bridesmaids. She made sure the cocktail hour room and reception decor was exactly as I envisioned it. She distributed tip envelopes to all my vendors and made sure all of my things were packed up properly after the wedding. One of the best wedding planning decisions I made and great prices too. You will not regret using Once Upon An Event!!!
I don't know what I would have done without Donna on the day of my wedding. She really took care of so much and went above and beyond. Hubby at first didn't think a day of coordinator would be necessary but after seeing everything that Donna was taking care on the day of, he definitely appreciated having her there and thought it well worth the additional expense. You can't really place value on feeling that things are getting well taken taken care of while you enjoy your day. THANK YOU DONNA!
Kristyn was the best. She contacted all my vendors to confirm their arrival times and was extremely helpful throughout the planning.
I worked with Kristyn and she was amazing. She made my planning/day so much easier. My wedding was almost perfect with very minor glitches and she helped make it that way.

I am beyond grateful to the ladies at OUAE. I'm a planner and organizer by nature but even with that Donna managed to find ways to make my day a complete breeze! They are very professional and are able to accommodate your needs, make you feel comfortable, and get things done. I interacted with Donna but my guests said that she was so good and efficient, they didn't even know she was there! THAT's how good these girls are! Their prices can't be beat and honestly they should think of increasing them, what they offer is truly priceless. Having piece of mind on your wedding is important and with OUAE, you're sure to have it! I can't recommend this company more!
My husband and I both agree this was by far the best wedding decision we made!! We worked mostly with donna and she was a gem! So helpful supportive and very responsive! Honestly overall they went so above and beyond and helped us with any bumps we had in the road along the way!
There aren't enough words in the english language to explain how thankful I am for Donna and Morgan.
I contacted Donna about 4 or 5 months before my wedding, having recently had a problem with another well known wedding planner. I was able to meet with Donna almost immediately, and we clicked instantly. I booked her on the spot for day of coordinating, and I was able to book her as well as another coordinator for less than I had been booked for with my original DOC.
Donna was always quick to answer my questions (lots of stupid questions!) and was always reassuring that everything would be perfect.
When I arrived at the venue the morning of my wedding, Donna was already there waiting for me. At any point during the day when she saw I was feeling overwhelmed, she would immediately change the situation or diffuse whatever issue there was at hand. Donna and Morgan worked extremely well with my bridal attendant, working as a team to bustle my dress. Anytime I had any questions about anything during the day, they were there. During all of our photos, they were there. They stayed till the very end, taking care of all of our final payments and tips, and making sure we left with all the things we wanted to take home.
The one moment that stood out to me was towards the end of the day, as I headed towards my table to take a sip of water after a ton of dancing, only to find no water. Before I knew it, Donna was right there, asking me if she could get me something to drink (clearly seeing the desperate dehydrated look on my face) and brought me over some water before I could even finish asking for it.
I knew that i wasn't just in my head that they were AMAZING when I woke up the next morning and my husband said "We really wouldn't have made it through the day without those two girls"
If you're looking for a peace of mind and an amazing team behind you, I would highly recommend once upon an event :)
We used Once Upon An Event for day of coordination and Donna was amazing! She made our wedding day go smoothly. She showed up to our hotel and right away was so much help. The shirt was too large on our ring bearer and she went and got the right size shirt for him in time for us to take our photos. We were missing some boutonnieres and she ran to a local florist and got them for us. Life Saver! She handled almost everything for us and took care of dealing with our venue so that we could enjoy our night. Highly recommended!
BEST DECISION EVER. Kristyn was fabulous from the get-go. I wasn't sure we needed a day-of coordinator, but had a change of heart when I realized just how much of the decor we were doing ourselves, and I didn't want to pin the set-up/take-down work on a family member for the day. Kristyn was very tolerant of my super-particular notes and lists I gave her, and she and Donna executed everything perfectly. We hit a few speedbumps on the big day with the venue not keeping promises they had made, and I would have melted down without Kristyn and Donna. They took up all communication with the venue, to keep me from getting involved and upset, and smoothed everything over. They were my "extra bridesmaids", holding my hand to calm me, and anticipating absolutely everything. I cannot say enough good things about these women, they are the best planning decision you could possibly make!!!
I booked my wedding planner about a year in advance. I had unlimited contact with her via e-mail from the time I booked. Any questions I had were responded to within 24 - 48 hours. It was amazing. If it wasn't for my wedding planner I would have been in tears prior to my first ceremony. She kept me calm through all family craziness during pictures. She even fixed my dress within moments of walking out to the reception because it slightly ripped. Completely worth the money for keeping my sanity and my family sane through a crazy process of a wedding.
Absolutely wonderful!! Our day of coordinator, Donna, was one of the biggest reasons our big day went so smoothly! She was so on top of things, and was always calm and helpful- she really helped to keep me calm (or as calm as I could be) during the getting ready process. She took care of everything- she even brought our luggage to our hotel and checked us in! Getting a day or coordinator was one of the best things I did for my own peace of mind- and Donna is the best!!
About 3 months away from my wedding I decided to look into a Day of Coordinator. I didn't think I'd ever be able to afford one but I figured what's the harm in looking into it. I found Once Upon an Event, they had my date open and sent me over their pricing. Wow - I was surprisingly shocked that it wasn't totally out of my budget!! I met with Donna, and found out that she also got married at the same venue that I was getting married! I took that as a sign. My church and reception were within hours of each other and my biggest concern was keeping on schedule because we wanted to get to our cocktail hour! I requested to work with Donna and she did not disappoint. We made it to the 2nd half of our cocktail hour, and we were so happy! We were in touch via email most of the time and I always got prompt responses. The week of the wedding we met again and went over all the details. I was having some family issues so she was aware and stayed on top of it for me once we got to the reception. Donna was with me from just before I put my dress on through the first dance. She was amazing. I didn't have to worry - she was on top of everything. She fixed a problem with my cocktail hour music before I could even finish my sentence haha I was on the fence about needing a DOC - but in the end, it was the best $ I spent. And while my husband was not on board at first, I think he was just as grateful to have Donna that day too! High Recommend Donna and Once Upon an Event!!!
I was incredibly fortunate to have found Once Upon an Event for my day of coordination. Donna was my coordinator and she was absolutely amazing. The lead-up to the wedding included a ton of contact and unlimited email/phone conversations. Donna was extremely organized and helped the day run smoothly. The value for what you get is amazing and I will definitely be recommending this company to all future brides!
I was initially apprehensive about hiring a DOC, but booking Once Upon an Event was one of the best decisions I made. Even better yet, they were affordable. They have several wedding planning options and I selected Day of Coordination services. I met with and had Krystin as my DOC. Prior to my wedding day she was available to answer any questions and make vendor recommendations. On my wedding day, Krystin was fantastic with troubleshooting any problems and working with other vendors. Anytime I turned around Krystin was either by my side or running over to be of assistance. She constantly reapplied my makeup, helped bustle my gown, pinned the bouts on the men, distributed the favors, transported flowers to my venue, wiped sweat from my brow, packed up all my belongings at the end of the night, and literally gave me the clothes off her back. I could not have pulled off such a fantastic wedding without her. I would highly recommend Once Upon an Event.
We worked with Donna and Morgan during the initial meeting prior to our wedding and Morgan was our day of wedding coordinator. They both did an amazing job and made our day very stress free. Thank you to both Donna and Morgan for an amazing job.
I LOVED Kristyn! She was so thorough, thought of everything I hadn't and was there for me from start to finish. Her suitcase full of tricks came in very handy as well! At the beginning of cocktail hour, our venue couldn't find the liquor my husband wanted to drink, so Kristyn was about to run out to get some (the venue later found it) but she is there to take care of everything you can't and she is SO worth it!
Brides, hire the team at OUE for a stress-free wedding. I had a very small wedding party (just a Best Man and MOH), so it was important to hand off the tasks so that everyone could enjoy themselves that day. They saved my day when my bustle broke right before the reception. I don't know what I would have done without them! Also, they were very resourceful and responsive up until the day and even after! Thank you Donna and Kristyn!
I booked with OUAE when I saw they had a groupon for the their day of coordinator services. They were a fairly new company, but the reviews that I found were all extremely positive so I decided to book with them. I can honestly say that besides marrying my now husband, they were the best decision I made that day! Throughout the entire planning process, Donna and Kristyn were always checking in to see if I needed help with anything or to answer any questions I had. They never made me feel like I was being a crazy bride and were always very reassuring. The morning of the wedding Donna showed up right on time and made me feel so much calmer. I was insanely stressed and she made sure everything was going smoothly and kept us on a schedule for pictures, getting in the limo for the church, etc. She always made sure I had a drink in my hand during the reception and kept me informed as to when we would be announced into the room/when the father-daughter dance was coming up/etc. Their services are PRICELESS and worth every penny!!! I can't say enough good things about them! I have since recommended 2 other brides that have booked with OUAE after meeting with Donna. Best decision ever, I highly recommend booking with them - you won't regret it!
Kristyn was AMAZING on our wedding day! We had planned on doing a first look at an outdoor location, and on the day of our wedding it was pouring! The first time I saw Kristyn she was holding two umbrellas over me, helping to keep me dry as I got to our photo location. Then, once we got to our venue, my feet started to hurt - so Kristyn ran out and bought me different shoes! She was prepared for anything - she steamed my dress to get out wrinkles, re-curled my hair that had straightened in the rain, rigged my sister's dress to keep it from falling down, rigged the best man's pants to keep them from falling down...I could go on. She was always there - finding anyone we needed for pictures, making sure we had food and drinks, etc. Kristyn was INVALUABLE. We were so lucky to have her with us on our wedding day!
Kristyn is a life saver. The second she walked in the door the morning of my wedding I just felt so calm because I knew she was there to help me with anything that may happen. I left my veil at my moms house by accident and noticed like 45 mins before the ceremony, well Kristyn jumped right in her car and went to get it. She was amazing the entire night, my husband and I never needed for anything because she had it before we even asked. Definitely worth every penny.
My mind was at ease my whole wedding day knowing that Kristyn was just a moment away when I needed her. Although I hired Once Upon An Event as a "just in case" because their rates were so affordable, it was so helpful to know that any questions or concerns I had would be handled right away. Their day of coordination services are worth every penny!
We met with Mara back in Feb or March. It was a great meeting, we really liked their packages and personalities!! Kristyn ended up being our actual day of coordinator, and she helped us so much with questions and opinions here & there along the way. When we found out in June that our venue had made mistakes, we increased the time to a full day because we knew she would be able to help with any mishaps that the venue contract breach would cause. Hiring a DOC is the best thing we could have done- she was there for us all day, helping us and the photographers and videographer with little & big tasks. You don’t realize how many little things you have to worry about !! Example-- We forgot our bouq’s on the bus, but Kristyn went to get them so we could continue to take pictures during our limited picture time. You don’t have anyone from the hall (bridal attendant) helping you get dressed and take pictures!! At the hall, she was there to discuss all the little (and big) issues that came along all day. We highly recommend Once Upon an Event!!
