Oak Park Community Center & Gardens allows you to have the wedding of your dreams and customize it to your liking. It's perfect for an intimate setting and lovely scenery. You're pretty much booking location only and you need to provide all your vendors, which is great because you're not forced to use a list like many other venues force you to. They also provide you with liability insurance, liquor license, security, etc. The personnel is very professional and answer all your questions.Sent on 01/04/2017
I loved this venue because we brought in our amazing caterer (Martin Fierro which specializes in Argentine BBQ), brought in our own alcohol, (A HUGE PLUS because many venues force you to pay obscene amounts for open bar) We bought all the alcohol and had an amazing open bar for all our guests to enjoy. Best part is we keep the alcohol.
Venue allows you to stay till midnight which is another perk. Yes, you need to do all the clean up but you can always hire a cleaning crew and save you lots of money.
I highly recommend this venue to anyone who is looking for a budget friendly, DIY yet intimate wedding.

One of, if not, the most affordable in Ventura County! They let us bring in our own caterer, decorate anyway we wanted, and provided insurance and security! The people that work here are very nice and the venue itself is gorgeous! The waterfalls, gardens and park that surround are a wonderful back drop. It was really easy to get everything booked here because so many vendors have worked here before and know what to expect so no other questions and concerns are needed from them. If you haven't had a chance to see this place I suggest you don't over look this.Sent on 12/10/2015

Oak Park Community Center was great. A great price and plenty of indoor and out door space. They have a full service kitchen that was more than adequate for us to bring in all of our food and alcohol. And the staff was always friendly and very helpful. My guests are still talking about what a great space it was.Sent on 01/09/2016

We were very happy with the facilities and staff at Oak Park Community Center and Gardens. Everyone was very helpful and willing to work with us. We were able to set up the evening before at no charge, since no one had reserved the site for another event, which was really nice.Sent on 06/01/2010

So beautiful, perfect location especially if you're on a budget. The people seem very nice but they were a bit misleading in the beginning. But it turned out so beautiful and inexpensive, I would do it again.Sent on 03/16/2017

A diy venue
It's a lot of work! You're working with a blank canvas. The staff will set out the tables and chairs. Everything else is up to you (linen, tablecloths, plates, flatware, cups, water, decor). If available you get to set up the day before for 2 hours before 5 pm. Very stressful to have restricted time. We didn't have as much help as we expected since it was during work hours. If you don't have the help, you might want to hire a vendor with a crew. Cost to rent space for a day is about $1600, less if you don't serve alcohol. Seems reasonable until you realize you have to buy everything!Sent on 01/17/2020
