  Outstanding!

  I don’t do many reviews, but I’m taking the time to leave a review for Mike for a couple of reasons. You know when you click on a website to find the information you’re looking only to be met with 10 pages of unnecessary information you have to navigate through just to find what you’re looking for? Mike’s website is so well done, I read every single part of it. His personality shines brightly through his words and you feel like you know him after you’ve read through his website. He gives you the information you’re looking for and delivers it with a sense of humor mixed with honesty which is captivating and leaves you feeling a little sad when you get to the end! I know, I know, that sounds bizarre. Read it, you’ll see what I mean and you’ll learn everything you need to know about choosing a dj!
  
  Unfortunately, Mike is booked the day of my wedding. However, he gave me the names of a few people he recommends. After reaching out to them only to find that they were booked as well, Mike was happy to give me more names. Too often these days people don’t bother to respond when they aren’t available for what you need. Not only did Mike respond, he offered his time, his knowledge and his kindness to try to help me find what I needed. That should undoubtedly be recognized! When someone goes above and beyond, gaining nothing from it, that act of kindness should be shared.
  
  I can’t review him as a dj, but I can review his character. He deserves more than five stars for being a stand up guy. If you’re looking for a dj, reach out to Mike. You won’t be disappointed! Last, but certainly not least, thank you, Mike. I appreciate all that you’ve done to help me. The world needs more people like you. 😊

  MustBeTheMusic is a MUST!

  Mike was OUTSTANDING! He put my and my wife's preferences for music and the experience at the forefront and ensured everything went well with the theme of our wedding based on what we wanted as far as music. He worked with the venue behind the scenes to ensure we had what we needed. It was his first time at the venue and you would have thought he's there every weekend. His lighting, equipment, and sound fit seamlessly with the venue. The crowd was moving the whole time and everyone of all ages enjoyed the music. Mike too our most special day and took it to another level.

  Wedding DJ 2.24.24

  Mike is the absolute BEST! During our wedding vendor search we got a few quotes from other DJs but what made Mike standout was how knowledgeable and professional he was from the beginning. You can sense his passion for what he does just from reading all of the information on his website, but after our first zoom call with him it was apparent how much pride he takes in his work and how dedicated he is to making sure every event he DJs is successful. He immediately put our minds at ease that with his years of experience he was the guy we needed to hire to make sure our wedding would be a great party.
  Throughout the planning process leading up to the wedding he checked in periodically to see if we needed anything from him, regularly giving us reassurance that he was available for any wedding or reception questions. Communication was always quick and easy whether by email, text, or phone call. And when wedding day finally came around, Mike did an amazing job of setting the perfect romantic mood during our ceremony, livening things up a bit during cocktail hour, and then really getting the party going for us during the reception. From the minute dinner was over he had people out on the dance floor and his music choices kept our guests dancing all the way to the last song of the night. I don’t think he could’ve read our crowd more perfectly! We got so many compliments from guests afterwards about how much fun they had and how awesome the music was all night long. We could not be happier that we went with Mike as our DJ - he is a huge reason why our special day turned out so special! 10/10, would definitely recommend!!

  Best Wedding Decision

  We knew immediately after ending our first Zoom call with Mike that we wanted to hire him for our wedding. He was arguably the most prepared vendor / individual that we spoke with during the entire process. He is personable and informative, and opened our eyes so much to the vital role the DJ plays throughout the wedding night. We really want to stress how informative and professional he is. He provides fantastic videos and reading material, we were bragging about it to our friends about how prepared, knowledgable, and helpful our DJ was compared to other experiences we have heard about. He was familiar with our venue, and educated us on how his equipment was suited for the high ceiling of our venue. Speaking of his equipment, his set up is beautiful! No big bulky speakers, he has sleek modern speakers and a beautiful table that he programs with a beautiful monogram message. It really pops and adds to the elegance and classiness of the wedding night. The uplifting was such a worthwhile addition, it took the atmosphere to another level, and looked beautiful throughout the night (Go Birds!).
  
  Every conversation we had with him was awesome, we loved him as a person. He was also arguably the best vendor we had in terms of keeping in contact with us. When we needed him or had a question, he was always prompt in his responses and went above and beyond to assist us. He is full of great recommendations for other vendors, and obviously music as well. You may not realize how important having a great DJ is and he definitely showed up for the part! We have received so much positive feedback on how he played a fantastic mix of music, and knew how to get the crowd going. He was vital in coordinating the day of activities as well. He was on top of the timeline (from ceremony through the end of the night), special announcement we requested, and interacted in such a positive way with the crowd and guests. Our family members loved him as well! Perhaps most important, Mike cares about his couples and makes sure that everything runs smoothly. He even reached out to our venue coordinator to assist with the day-of timeline. He went above and beyond for us, and was fully invested making our night as special as possible.

  Best DJ Ever!

  Mike is absolutely wonderful, we couldn’t have asked for a better DJ! He kept the party going the entire evening, the dance floor was NEVER empty! Super knowledgeable in his craft, fun, and very professional. He engaged the guests all night long and we had many compliments. I cannot say enough good things. He did our uplighting as well, which added a more finished look to our reception and the changing colors were perfect for dancing! We 100% recommend hiring Mike for your wedding!!

  Best dj ever!

  Mike was such a huge help in making sure our wedding day was absolutely perfect! He has been SO helpful since day 1 of me inquiring for our wedding, with song recommendations and timeline help etc. We received sooo many compliments with our DJ choice (from older guests AND younger guests!!). Mike was extremely communicative leading up to the wedding and especially during the day of! We could not have asked for a better DJ! Thank you Mike for making our day absolutely perfect!!! :)

  Mike is amazing!

  Mike was the DJ/MC for our large wedding recently. He was incredibly prepared, easy to work with, flexible, and did an outstanding job the day of! We had a few “out there” requests both prior to the wedding and on the night of and Mike was able to make them all happen. He read the room and matched the music to the vibes of our wedding perfectly. We would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a fun, easygoing, yet organized and incredibly talented feature to your big day!!

  Exceptionally organized DJ who kept the dance floor full all night!

  I hit the luck of all luck to secure Mike Simmons as my DJ a mere 60 days before my wedding. New to wedding planning, it was so refreshing to have ONE aspect of the day off my shoulders because Mike covered everything! He was so helpful in explaining the sequence of the evening while still letting me know it was OUR night and we could scrap any traditions or conventions that didn't fit us. He gave great recommendations when I struggled with songs and was amazing when it came to last second changes. The song I wanted as my 1st dance was too fast for a slow dance and he slowed it down without losing a single quality of the original. Everyone was on the dance floor to the very last minute and everyone raved about Mike (even the venue)! My husband and I joked we would get divorced and remarried just to experience the night again. Thank you for everything, Mike. Hiring you was the best choice (second to the groom) I ever made.

  DJ Mike gets the party going!

  What can I say about DJ Mike besides him being absolutely amazing at his job. He was the obvious choice for our wedding. He is extremely friendly and kind and knows exactly how to perfectly DJ a wedding. We met with DJ Mike on a few occasions to go over songs, different things we wanted to do for the wedding, certain things he recommended, pricing, etc. and he was seriously so easy to work with. He really made our wedding the party of a lifetime! He was one of the best if not the best part about our wedding. He made the process so smooth and it really made it seem like he was our friend. He literally had every single one of our guest on the dance floor and that’s something that you don’t always see!

  Ah-mazing!!!

  Mike checked off all our boxes for what we were looking for with a wedding DJ. He was so easy to talk too, very welcoming and always answered questions promptly! I found him in 2021 for my 2023 wedding and he would always check in with me to make sure I was doing okay with wedding planning and if I had any questions! When our day finally arrived he came early to set up and make sure everything was perfect and running smoothly. He uses clip on microphones during the ceremony which was so perfect, I think the mic stands are so ugly and ruin photos! The groom was mic’d up as well as our officiant and everyone could hear us perfectly. During our reception we had a lot of older guests mixed with younger so the music had to pair well with both sets of guests and he did an outstanding job with keeping the energy up! We added on the uplighting he offers and man oh man I cannot recommend that enough! It really pulled everything together and made our night feel even more special.   Mike was on top of it from day one, knew exactly what he was doing, even gave us tips on other vendors we could utilize (Intrigue Photography) and ran us through step by step how typical marriage ceremonies/receptions go but let us customize it the entire way to be our perfect night! Professional, patient, excellent communication via email/phone/video call/whatever we needed and a wonderful sense of humor to boot! We never had a doubt in him which is super helpful when everything else is stressful to plan! All in all we had a totally stellar night with all the right music and hitting all the perfect steps with Mike! He even does custom displays on the front of his DJ stand! They looked so cool!

  HIGHLY recommend Mike and Must Bring the Music - Wonderful experience. Very professional and responsive. He listened to exactly what we wanted and kept the party going on the dance floor. You don't need to look any further for a wonderful DJ!

From the start, he went above and beyond to make the planning and details of the ceremony to the reception as easy and painless as possible. His lighthearted personality made me and my husband feel completely at ease and like we were working with a friend we have known for a lifetime. He completely handled all the sounding for the ceremony as well and he reached out to ALL of our additional vendors for us; violinist, officiant, venue, etc. to make sure everything went as smoothly as possible. As for the reception, I don't think I saw a single body sitting down! He definitely brought the party with a great mix of music for all our guests to enjoy! I can not recommend Mike enough to anyone getting married, an absolute must-have!!

  Wonderful Experience!

  Mike is awesome! He is really on top of things and the best in his business! I had no worries with him! Absolutely phenomenal!

  Beyond Expectations

  When shopping around one thing I looked for was quality. Mike went above and beyond to not only send me a price, but to send me why he would be a wonderful fit to hire him as our dj. I’m beyond grateful I hired him because he went above and beyond to meet our expectations. From always being in contact weather it was us having a question or checking up making sure we were all set, to adapting to changing order of events quickly the last minute during the reception.
  Another thing that not only myself and my husband loved, but my guest loved how smoothly the music transitioned from song to song, as well they loved how clean Mikes set up is. It’s beyond beautiful.
  Mike has been nothing but wonderful this whole experience and glad I was able to create such a wonderful experience with my vendor.

  Awesome DJ

  Mike *killed* it at our 8/26/23 wedding. Mike brought professionalism, great energy, and a lot of fun to the table. He regularly checked in before the big day which helped calm nerves. He also pulled together custom edits for the recessional and a few dances which was an awesome surprise. I was 100% over ambitious w my must play playlist (sent him over 7 hrs of beats 😁), but noticed during the night Mike working off that print out - he played a ton of songs I had wanted which was the icing on the cake. I really enjoyed working w him right off the bat - he's a stellar DJ and a great guy.

  Amazing experience with Must be the Dj!

  From our first meeting the the magical day of Mike Simmons of Must be the Dj was nothing but AMAZING!! The one thing people don’t tell you about planning a wedding, is how hard picking songs actually is! Mike was so patient and had list and suggestions for all of my lost ways. The most important part, that I will forever be thankful for was his push to use our song “Say you won’t let go.” As our wedding song. I always envisioned it as our song and down played myself thinking it wasn’t wedding appropriate. After talking to Mike, we picked it as our first dance and on our wedding day I was so glad we did. Start of our ceremony to the end of the night everything was absolutely perfect. From the time our dance floor opened until the last song of the night he had our dance floor packed. If you are looking for a Dj, this is 100% the one!

  Best Wedding DJ

  Mike is an INCREDIBLE wedding DJ. Brings tons of energy, super detailed, fun to be around, and took all of our requests into consideration. He even made a custom display in front of his stand for us. I cannot offer a better recommendation, if you're getting married he should be the first person you call!

He was very reliable and continued to reach out along the process and let us know what to expect at each meeting. He even reached out to help with anything along to wedding planning process!   MIKE!!!! Oh my gosh... start to finish, absolutely love this dude. Aside from his DJ skills, he is just genuinely a solid, kind hearted, funny, and uplifting guy. He makes you laugh all night and knows how to push to get things done when you need him. When we first met Mike on a Zoom call, he immediately made us feel comfortable as a same sex couple. He immediately impressed us with his knowledge and his straight forward approach - it's all about good music and keeping people on the dancefloor. Immediately we knew he would be a great match for us both with his personality and his approach to a great party. We had our wedding on 6/3/23 and Mike came early, was set up perfectly, and his equipment is INCREDIBLE! He has a beautiful stand set up with a digitized screen where he makes beautiful designs of your names, both stationary and live. Mike was an incredible MC, and nailed every single name, even the challenging ones!! Despite our differences in gender, he flowed right with our terminology of "bridesmaids and bridesmen", rolled perfectly with our divorced parents and their titles, and helped us coordinate our timing to get people on the dance floor seemlessly! He played all of our requests, even when we got started way late on the reception. He made sure our ceremony sounds were beautiful and we loved his portable microphones clipped to the officiant to avoid the clunky microphone stand! Also, the uplighting he did was beautiful and TOTALLY worth it. I can't imagine having any other person there for us that night. We received so many compliments on the music. The biggest difference maker? We had people from ages 13 to 85, and every single person danced to his music. He picked perfect songs/genres to appeal to everyone and keep everyone involved. I have never seen my 85 year old grandfather dance, and that was all thanks to Mike! If you don't book Mike, I promise you will regret it. I have been to so many weddings where the DJ ruins the night. We had people packing the dance floor through the ENTIRE reception! Don't wait.... book him NOW NOW NOW!!!!!!

He had great timing for all the requested songs during the ceremony. He had the guests pumped during bridal party introductions. He had the dance floor packed all reception. He understood exactly what kind of vibes we were looking for throughout cocktail hour, dinner and into dancing and because of his professionalism and confidence in his style and ability we felt awesome about letting him be creative and run with it. The DJ booth with our wedding logo was an awesome add to the reception space as well. He also had multiple back up plans to ensure everything went on according to plan. Overall, we definitely recommend hiring Mike as your DJ.

Truly a dj can make or break your wedding, without a doubt mike MADE my wedding. I knew literally 5 seconds after talking to Mike I wanted to hire him, his clear attention to detail made it the easiest decision of my wedding. He sat down with us multiple time and literally helped us plan the schedule of events. If that’s not going above and beyond i don’t know what is. Mike helped mic up the groom, and the officiant which made our lives SO EASY. I literally never worried once about the sound, or music during my wedding. The best advice I can give, DO NOT SKIP THE UPLIGHTING. This was the best decision, it turned our venue into a dance floor everyone wanted to be on (I’m not kidding we had at least 100 people on this dance floor). Mike even made us a custom logo for the front of his dj booth! Mike, you genuinely were the best vendor I had the pleasure of working with. Thank you for helping giving us our dream wedding!!
