Toula and Stella did a great job on my daughter's wedding dress. The dress had some difficult alteration to be done and Toula did a superb job! Thank you! -

Toula truly saved my dress and my wedding day. After my original seamstress simply forgot to do the alterations necessary for my dress among other problems, Toula and her team squeezed me in 4 weeks before my wedding and the same day that I called. Granted, my case was an emergency situation so I doubt they usually do that but I am forever appreciate that they did. Sadly, all the alterations that had already been done by the original seamstress had been taken out by her out of spite and I was back to square one 4 weeks before it needed to look perfect. Needless to say I was in a PANIC! I live out of state and literally had this one fitting with her before I had to pick up my dress for the wedding. I was a little skeptical but she put me at ease and actually understood ALL the concerns I had about my dress and assured me that it would be perfect. Let me tell you that she was not lying. My dress fit me like a GLOVE and was absolutely perfect after 1 fitting- I tried it on 2 days before my wedding and she did a few slight adjustments but it was truly miraculous how much they did in one fitting. I highly recommend Ms. Couture for you wedding dress alterations. I know my dress would have never looked as good with another seamstress. -

Went here based on reviews and was not dissapointed. I lost a TON of weight before my wedding and the entire dress (which had like eight layers of organza and lace) had to be resized from an 8 down to a 2. They were amazing, you could never tell it had been bigger, fit like a glove! Everything was done on time as promised! Totally reccomend!! (easy street parking too!) -

Toula did an absolutely amazing job on altering my very complicated gown. I was so worried about having my dress altered due to the amount of beading and lace but once Toula got to work there was nothing to be nervous about. On the day of my wedding my dress fit like it was custom made for me. Although Toula could be considered pricier than other places I found that the difference was not that much more than what my dress shop would have charged and her work was absolutely worth the cost. In fact, I made the trip from the suburbs (Naperville) to Chicago for all my fittings and I still think it was well worth the time and money. I highly recommend Ms. Couture. -

Toula was awesome, and the final product was exactly what I wanted. I ended up using Toula because my bridal shop was too far away, and I read her great reviews. I had a few minor changes I wanted to make to the dress to make it better, and when I went in Toula agreed the changes were necessary to make the dress better. I was happy to hear that because my mother kept telling me to leave it the alone. Each time I went into the shop the appointment was short and on time. Everyone there is very friendly. I had no doubt Toula knew exactly what she was doing, and trusted her from the first minute of meeting The dress was ready at the time I needed it, despite being a busy wedding weekend.
I thought the prices were very fair and were right on par with what the bridal shop would have charged me. I gladly paid the extra little money to not have to drive 45 minutes to the suburbs. -

The rave reviews continue to rave. Intensely.
Tula (aka Ms. Couture) is simply the best wedding dress (or other fancy gown) seamstress that you can find. Her attention to detail is so refined and she does not settle for anything less than complete perfection.
I bought my dress off the rack at Ultimate Bride and it was literally 10 sizes too big (a girl goes a long way for a bargain - errrr). Tula meticulously took in every seam, made a flawless hem and created a perfect bustle with a whopping 19 (!) individually numbered ties. The dress fits perfectly now and looks like it was made especially for me. Truth is, it was pretty much made for me.
Hat's off to Tula. Highly recommended. -

Toula was sweet, my dress was PERFECT - highly recommend! I have seen some negative reviews about Toula on yelp - brides saying she was bitchy, but I didn't experience even a hint of that. I did, however, witness a bride be way-out-of-line rude towards her and it makes me wonder who exactly is writing those reviews. Thank you Toula for making my dress so beautiful!! -

I arrived in Chicago two days before my daughter's wedding with her dress that was purchased and altered in Colorado while she was visiting the previous Thanksgiving. I had had numerous problems with the seamstress in CO and was worried about how the dress would fit and it didn't. I couldn't even zip it closed and my daughter is about a size 6. We were referred to Toula at Ms. Couture by a bridal store. We called Ms. Couture and explained our predicament and they agreed to see us that afternoon. Toula had to let the dress out, move the straps and redo the bodice to make the dress fit and look properly. She did all of this in 24 hours!!! Her alterations made the dress fit but also it looked so much better. Toula averted a complete meltdown by my daughter and me. I cannot say enough about Ms. Couture. I would recommend them to every bride in the Chicago area. -

Toula altered my wedding dress and did such a fabulous job. I had ordered my wedding dress from ebay (I know, you might think I'm crazy - but it was good quality and affordable). I just needed to fit it to me.
Toula probably had to take 1-2 inches off all over (bust, waist, hips), added boning to the bodice, and did a two-tier french bustle. All of these alterations cost around $225. She was always on time and friendly. There was no drama with my dress not being ready - as other posters on yelp complained about. I went for my first fitting at the end of October, had my final fitting Dec 3 and then picked up the dress (and veil) steamed on Dec 9. I was a little nervous that I didn't have a multiple-step fitting, but that just wasn't necessary. And it was nice that my final fitting was just 1 week before the wedding. I had accidentally lost some weight, so she was able to take the hips in a little more. Then it fit perfectly. Everyone said how my dress "fit like a glove." I looooved my dress and a huge reason that I was so enamored was b/c it fit perfectly.

Although they didn't alter my wedding dress, they did alter a bridesmaid dress I wore 3 mos after giving birth.
Here's my review from Yelp:
I found Ms. Couture on Yelp while hunting for a tailor/seamstress to alter a bridesmaids dress for me. I'd recently had a baby and had ordered my dress while I was still pregnant. (I should also note that the shop I ordered it from is in Mpls and I had to give them my measurements over the phone and trust I would get the right size) I was very disheartened when I received the dress and it was about a size too small.
Based on the two previous reviews, I decided to go to Ms. Couture because they specialize in bridal wear and I didn't want the dress screwed up by someone who didn't have much experience with this stuff. I ended up being late, but they weren't busy (I was the only client there) and were nice enough to lock up shop so I didn't have to worry about leaving the baby asleep in her stroller in the front of the small store while I put on the dress in the one of the changing rooms. Once in the dress, she assessed my problem and said she could use the shawl that came with it to add extra panels to the dress.
At the second fitting, the dress fit beautifully and you couldn't even tell that anything had been added to the dress! She still found a couple small adjustments to make the dress fit even better and raised the hemline. Up to that point I was extremely happy with the service, but was concerned with the price since other shops (ie, David's Bridal) charge an arm and a leg for this kind of work. When she told me how much it would be, I was floored bc it was so cheap! I threw in an extra $10 bc I knew I was getting such a good deal for the quality and amt of work she was doing.
All in all, it's a little family owned business that is extremely friendly and understanding and does awesome work. She even taught me the proper way to lace up the back! -

I found my wedding gown at Brides Against Breast Cancer. It was made in Italy and was definitely a sample so there was a lot of work that needed to be done on the dress. I was really nervous about where to bring it. After reading reviews and making phone calls to several high end tailors in Chicago, I decided to go to Ms. Couture based on what they told me for pricing. Toula and her team are absolutely amazing. I had 3 fittings and I have to admit that during fittings #1-2 I was still very apprenhensive on things that needed to be fixed and how the dress was fitting. Toula is definitely no-nonsense and tells you how it is. I think the most important thing to remember is, when she says to trust her you really should trust her. She knows what she's doing. At my last fitting I really did feel like my dress was too tight and I was scared that I might rip it if I sat down or during dancing. Toula kept reassuring me that the fabric would not rip and that it fit perfectly. She was absolutely right! I tried it on again at home just in case I needed to bring it back but I realized everything that needed to be fixed was done and it fit my body perfectly. During my ceremony and reception I continued to feel more and more comfortable in the dress. My mom and sisters all had their dresses altered with Toula as well and everything was done to perfection. Again, at first Toula might be a little intimidating and it's always hard to trust someone with your dress, but I am glad that I went to Toula. I think at my last fitting I could really tell that she just loves what she does and is so proud of her work. I woudl definitely recommend Ms. Couture to any future brides. Also, if you need your dress to be cleaned and pressed she will put you in contact with Alan from Alan's Custom Dry Cleaner's. He's pricey but it's worth it. He will pick up your dress from Toula directly and then drop it off to you when it's done. No running around with your dress! He does it all! Tula saved my wedding dress! I bought my wedding gown in Rhode Island where I grew up. I decided to have the alterations done at the salon where I bought my dress and then fly the dress to Chicago once it was done. Well at my final fitting the top of the dress was not fitting right and looked all crushed in. I was told it just needed to be steamed and would be fine once they steamed it. Well I picked up the dress to bring home and it wasn’t fine. I brought the dress to Chicago and needed to find a place to steam it. My co-worker told me about Ms. Couture. I brought the dress in and showed her the problem and asked her to steam it. She asked me to try the dress on and immediately noticed problems with the way the dress was sewn back together. Steaming wasn’t the answer. The quote she gave me to fix it (which would require taking the dress apart) almost made me faint so I told myself I would just deal with it. When I told her I would think about it she immediately came up with another much more affordable solution. I came in 2 weeks later and it still wasn’t quite right so she said she would make a few more changes (which she didn’t charge me extra for) and told me I could pick it up a couple days before the wedding. I was nervous because I wouldn’t be trying it on again until the wedding day. Well the wedding day came and the dress fit perfectly!!!! I cannot believe she was able to make it look so nice…I would definitely recommend Tula to anyone needing wedding gown alterations…she is a bit pricey but she is a perfectionist and will make your dress fit you like a glove. -

Toula, the owner and seamstress of this adorable place, was such a comfort to me with a dress that I had some major regrets about immediately following the purchase of my dress. My dress when I got it from the store was so ill-fitting that I didn't even know where to start. I brought my dress into Toula about 3 months prior to my wedding and once she pinned me in she had me feeling better. It took about 5 fittings but in the end I was so pleased. Toula was very warm and welcoming and remembered me from amongst her hundreds of other clients. My only complaint would be that it was hard to get a fitting at a time that worked within my work schedule but it was well worth it to try to go in during the week at a slow time to get more of her attention. I made the mistake of going on a friday evening for a fitting and there were people coming in like crazy picking up their wedding gowns/bridesmaid dresses and it was a very stressful event. Toula recommended that night that I only make my appointments during the week and I did from there on for the next 3 appointments. With my mom living on the East Coast, Toula made me feel like whatever she said, my mom would agree, and it was very true when my mom came to my last two fittings. I highly recommend Ms. Couture but CALL AHEAD and make your appointments to fit your already busy schedule to create less stress around sucn an important item. -

All in all, my wedding dress alterations turned out perfectly. My dress needed a LOT of alterations, mostly because I am petite and there were a lot of layers to trim up and bustle. Toula and her team did a great job. They really know what they're doing I'm glad she suggested sewing in a bustier into my dress as it provided much more support. Just a warning though -- I had 4 appointments and my dress pretty much wasn't touched until the last one. So those first 3 fittings, I was really nervous because I was told that certain things would be done at each and they weren't. Again, they pulled it together at the end and the dress fit me perfectly, but I literally picked it up the day before our wedding so it definitely caused some stress and anxiety. Also, like others said, make those appointments far in advance because those after work/weekend hours fill up quickly. -

Ms. Couture did a great job in altering my intricate wedding gown. It was a pleasure to work with the staff there and was very pleased with the difficult alterations that they were able to make to my dress. Even though the alterations were a bit on the expensive side, it was well worth the cost when I saw how beautiful my dress was on my wedding day. I would not have trusted it to just anyone and felt comfortable leaving it with the professional staff at Ms. Couture. -

DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME, rude and unprofessional
BRIDES STAY AWAY! I wish I would have listened more to the plenty of 1 star reviews. If you are looking to get ANY alterations done, DO NOT go to Ms. Couture. Toula is not professional, rude and leaves you feeling terrible after your experience. Save yourself the trouble and never keep them on your list. I’m not a review leaver, and it’s crazy I have to even write this.
My whole experience there lasted five minutes. I went there for a bridal dress appointment, my wedding dress. I was so excited for my appointment!
I greeted her with kindness, she told me to take my shoes off and put my dress on. She took a look at my dress and let me know "she can see what she can do and can't make any promises with the bustle". She also had the nerve to ask me if I was getting a second dress because the bustle. I have been to a few places and the bustle was not an issue or ever even mentioned.
Ok... so took my dress off and start talking about costs. I let her know I would like a quote as I am looking around at a few other places for alterations. She said she didn't feel comfortable giving me a quote then started fishing about costs of other places. I almost walked out, when I went back in and said how am I supposed to know costs if you're not even going to give me a quote; all while she's telling me she will make my dress beautiful.
She tells me to fill out a piece of paper then hands me the quote. She kept her hand on the paper the whole time, like did she think I was trying to steal her quote???? It was absurd??? I walked out feeling so dissatisfied.
This was supposed to be a special experience and I left there feeling totally awful about my experience. Freaking out about my dress and thinking I had to buy a second one.
This was just the most unprofessional experience I have ever had, BRIDES STAY AWAY FROM MS.
COUTURE! I would never trust my dress in this ladies hands.
Be nice to your customers when you're quoting them 1,200 telling them MAYBE you can get the job done. This was such a disheartening experience.
I wouldn't even recommend walking into this place.

Run for the hills
Do not go here. Ever. Please listen to the negative yelp reviews.
TLDR: expensive, rude, ruined my dress, wasted my time.
I will be contacting the boutique I bought my dress from to ask them to remove this boutique from their recommended list.
Alterations were more than the price of my dress ($1500).
Originally I was supposed to have three appointments. I ended up having 8. Why? Because the woman who runs the shop either did not show up or would reschedule last minute. That's not even counting the times she called me to ask if I could come in like midday when I had an appointment for 6pm that had been on the books for months (I work until 5.)
The scheduling isn't half as bad as the alterations. My dress - which was beautiful originally, looked like absolute garbage when she was done with it. On my last "fitting" I asked to try it on in the shop and she said no. Great. It was two days before my wedding. Imagine how happy I was when I got home and it bunched up awfully.
It looks like crap in all the pictures. It's too big and the torso is too long so the torso/corset looks horrible in all the pictures.
I truly considered disputing the charge on my card because my whole expirence at ms couture was atrocious and I did not get what I paid for. Stay far far away.
Bonus comment/ two other times when I was in the shop, other women/patrons walked in and said they had appointments just for the manager of the shop to be confused and say no that couldn't be, and send them away. Which is so great when you take time off in the middle of the work day!
F*** this place. Do not go here. Ever.

Toula sent the wedding gown to her professional to get cleaned and it came back stained and ruined. She said that sometimes stains surface after cleaning. She refuses to accept responsibility for ruining a $2200.00 dress. We had to buy a new dress. -

Awful experience- stay away!
I had an awful experience at Ms Couture. While the prices here are more affordable than some other places in Chicago, it’s definitely not worth the stress and terrible customer service you receive as a trade off. During the initial consultation Toula assured me “everything is possible” and I would only need to come in for 3-4 fittings. My wedding dress needed to be taken in, hemmed and bustled- I was quoted $750. I took my dress in 3 months before my wedding, thinking it was plenty of time and I would get my dress back with enough time before the wedding. I ended up having to go in for more than 8 fittings, each time the work I thought would be completed wasn’t. Toula would just say to me “I can’t rush, we have to do it in steps”. Stella was lovely, but I found Toula to be quite rude- she never really listened to what I wanted. My final fittings were constantly being pushed back because “they were very busy” and when I went to pick up my dress 3 days before the wedding, it was still not completed and did not turn out at all how I had hoped. I ended up having to take my dress elsewhere to be fixed only days before my wedding. The whole experience was incredibly stressful - I would not recommend this place to anyone! -

DO NOT GO HERE! Going here was the WORST part of my whole wedding experience. My first fitting went okay but my second fitting was wear I started to get nervous. Every time we would tell her something looked off or we wanted it changed she would yell at us and say it is "Its not the final fitting" OR "dress is not done". Not to mention, I had to drive from Milwaukee so the second appt she called while I was driving and told me I had to come in 2 hours later and did not give a reason why or even apologize. Needless to say, the final fitting was a joke. It was ONE WEEK before my wedding and we waited 30 mins before I could put the dress on because she was still working on it. Once I got it on, there were multiple issues with the fit, buttons, belt, etc. I should have known at that point to take the dress and leave but I decided to let her work on it because I didn't think I had another choice. We came back 2 hours later.... and she broke the zipper and I could not take home the dress. She also told me that the zipper in the dress was cheap which is odd based on how much you charged for the dress. I had to come back on Tuesday (4 days before my wedding) to pick it up. I tried it on and there were still issues with the fit, buttons down the back were all unevenly spaced and most of all the zipper was now visible from the back of the dress... it actually looked AWFUL. Lastly, the money... she charged us $800 (outrageous). Because of all of this she only took off $100. JOKE!!! We still paid $700 for bad service, experience, and quality. So thanks for that.
Luckily, I have good friends that helped me get into someone to fix the dress the next day.... only 3 days before my wedding. -

DO NOT GO HERE! The owner of this store yelled at me, made me cry, and even called and said the dress wouldn’t be ready in time. Every time I showed up for an appointment I would wait for 40 minutes to an hour and half. Once you get in, everything you ask for Toula rudely says no it’s too much work. She kept making me come back to do each thing individually (shortening hem, adding bustle, sizing to my waist), however every time I came back NOTHING was done. She scheduled my final fitting for 9 days before my wedding. I got the flu the day before and called and Toula said she couldn’t get me in for another 5 days. I asked if that would be enough time if something needed to change and she said yes they will make it work. I took off work to show up at the time she gave me, 4 days before my wedding, and literally nothing had been done on it – and it was too big. Toula took 1 look at me and started shouting at me about how I had lost weight and now she won’t fix my dress. I said that she was the one I spoke to on the phone and told I had the flu and she said it would be fine. She kept attacking me. I was so stressed and shocked she was yelling at me I started crying. Toula kept yelling at me. I told her I paid $750 to make this fit perfectly and I really needed her to fix it. To this, Toula scoffed at me and said “That is not even a lot of money”. It was the rudest thing a worker has ever said to me. I said through tears “Really? $750 is not a lot of money? Well to me it is” and again she rudely said “No it’s not a lot of money”. Then, less than 36hrs before my wedding she left a voicemail complainin about how she had been working on my dress all day (probably since nothing was done in the 6 months she had it) and that it probably won’t be done in time. I honestly didn’t sleep that night. Finally, the afternoon before my wedding she said it was ready. I was late to my own rehearsal because I was picking it up. Seriously, save yourself some stress and do not go here. -
