  Get Married Just to Work with Michael

  My (now) husband and I were introduced to Michael through a contact at our venue. It was the moment that our wedding planning shifted from “What are we doing?” to “We cannot wait to do this!”
  
  When that contact told us about Michael, she mentioned that he is the best in the business at bringing out couples’ personalities for the wedding. This proved to be true, where every idea we threw his way he would take in stride and develop ways to make it happen. This is one of my favorite parts of working with Michael; we would share what we thought were wild ideas (naming the tables after Hollywood divas; doing the after party at a bowling alley) and he would always say, “yes, and…” Even when it was a terrible idea (putting in music video televisions; not doing seating at the ceremony) he would say “yes and …” while gently guiding us back to realizing it was a horrible idea, allowing his expertise and tact to shine through, and our trust to grow with it.
  
  What’s key here is that Michael doesn’t just hear you; he listens. He makes everyone - parents, guests, etc. - feel heard and included. (Even when, perhaps, the grooms didn’t want them to be.)
  
  Of the many compliments we received on our big day - our suits, our smiles - one we received over and over again was, “and your planner is clearly amazing.” So many guests said the event “felt like you,” which is a large tribute to the work and professionalism Michael brings to his projects, and the very reason for which we were introduced to him all that time ago. We’re better for it. We may just renew our vows if only to work with him again.

  Michael is amazing!

  It is not an exaggeration to say that we could not have pulled off our outdoor wedding without the guidance of Michael Marcoux!
  
  Throughout our entire planning process, Michael was organized, responsive, incredibly invested, and a joy to work with! He brings years of experience, expertise and relationships in the RI and MA area, and is truly passionate about planning weddings true to each individual couple.
  
  We were married in Marion, MA in a tented ceremony with 240 people in September. One week before, we started to get wind (literally) of an ominous weather pattern - a hurricane - headed straight towards our reception location. Michael handled the entire situation like a total pro. I cannot overstate his commitment during this week, from driving to the tent location at 6 a.m. every morning to checking in with every vendor multiple times to ensure they were still coming to the wedding. Michael was a lifesaver and rockstar, and his dedication truly shined. On the day of our wedding, as the storm passed, we didn't have to worry about one single detail - he had it under control.
  
  We loved working with Michael. You're not going to find a more committed planner. He helped us turn our dreams into a reality, and we are forever grateful.

  Long Distance Wedding Planning Made Easy

  We first decided to work with Michael based on a number of conversations with him where it was clear that he was exceptionally organized, would honor our vision, and would provide us with great recommendations along our journey. He stayed true to our first impressions throughout the process. As a couple planning a wedding from 2000 miles away, it gave us confidence and peace of mind to have Michael on the ground for us, making sure every detail was addressed. He was extremely responsive anytime we had a question, and would always keep us on track with any deadlines (we needed a lot of help with that part!). The team of vendors that Michael recommended and we selected for the big day were so well coordinated and on the same page. We know that Michael’s influence was a major part of that.

  Incredible fellow

  We knew we wanted a wedding planner that had personality, style, and took both the bride AND groom's opinions into account, and we knew on seeing Michael's website that his clients were the kinds of people we wanted to emulate. We saw the love between the dearly beloveds on his page and knew we wanted to join them in our happiest day; in talking to Michael at our first meeting, he made it clear that our wedding wouldn't be a canned affair, but a truly unique-to-us experience. He heard my groom and myself out thoroughly and let us both have equal time to share our thoughts instead of making it just MY day as the bride, which was very important to us. We told him we wanted magic and to be maybe even get married by a witch, and he was still on board. He asked if we needed to sacrifice a goat during the ceremony and was only a little bit outside his comfort zone (we didn't sacrifice a goat, but we did end up with a traditional handfasting ritual and a lot of celtic harp music).
  Michael was honest, sweet, and excited for what lay in store for us every step of the way, and recommended the perfect florist for the all-out overgrown secret garden vibe I wanted. He put us in touch with a tailor and recommended options for my groom's custom tux, brought us one of the kindest officiants in the world when our witch fell through at the last minute, and even PICKED OUT MY PERFECT DRESS AT THE FIRST BRIDAL APPOINTMENT.
  Go ahead and find me a wedding planner that knows their couples better than this man knew us. I dare you to try!
  I never felt like I was a cookie cutter bride or that I was just another couple. He knew me and my groom's personalities and exactly what would make us excited, and treated us like the only couple in the world. If you don't pick Michael, you picked wrong.

  Wedding Dream Come True

  What can we say about Michael Marcoux!!! I guess let’s start with Michael, the wedding planner. I’ve never met a more dedicated, hard working person. I cannot even count the number of all day/nighters we pulled. This man would drive up to Boston from RI in the AM and leave after midnight. This past Saturday, we had the wedding of our dreams, and it all came together with your help!! It came together, yes, because you put in all the hard work, but really because it is so evident how much you care about us. You poured your heart and soul into making sure this dream turned into reality, and we can’t thank you enough !!!!! 🙏
  
  Now for Michael himself….
  You are not just a wedding planner to us . You are our funny, sweet, compassionate, loyal friend. We have laughed, cried and shared so many special moments together.
  I hope you didn’t think you could get rid of us after September 24th! You are stuck with this crazy Greek couple forever! We love you and can’t thank you enough for making our dream day come true !!!!!! ❤️🫶🏻❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

  Son’s and son-in-law’s wedding

  Michael was no less than excellent. He was professional, but not stuffy. He took care of every detail for our son’s and now son-in-law’s wedding at Shepherd’s Run. He worked seamlessly with vendors and accompanied my sons to all appointments and his recommendations were spot on.
  He included parents in relevant details and was sensitive to concerns. He honestly wanted the wedding to be awesome and it was! The icing on the cake is that he’s a really nice guy. Highly recommend him,

  First class!!!!

  I never thought I would get a wedding planner, until I realized not only how much it takes to make the most memorial day of your life happen smoothly, but how valuable a sense of peace and security can be on the equally most nerve racking day of your life. Michael, along with his team we’re on their A-Game, kind, patient, fun, and did everything to give my husband and I the best day ever. I don’t regret a single penny. Love them!!!!

  Successful, Fun, Stress-Free Wedding Planning. We

  If you have gotten this far as to read this review, you have already made the very important (and correct) decision to hire a planner for your wedding. Our biggest advice at this step is to CHOOSE MICHAEL. You will NOT regret it.
  Michael’s knowledge of the industry and connections throughout Rhode Island made the day and everything that lead up to it absolutely seamless. I (the bride) had many people ask me how I was so calm and I always said “I have a planner” but reflecting back and comparing to all the weddings we have attended, the answer was really “my planner is Michael”.
  He stepped into many roles during the process. He attended all my dress fittings in Boston and made me feel beautiful while giving feedback on what would work best day-of. The three of us (my husband, Michael and I) laughed our way through venue tours, food tastings and countless video calls. While we were having fun, Michael made sure to keep us on track and we were always ahead of timeline and within our budget. Even though I struggled to put into words what I was imagining for the day, he somehow accurately translated our vision when discussing details with all the vendors. We looked forward to our recurring meetings with him and always got off the call even more excited than we were before. Michael would listen for what is important to and unique about us and worked hard to get those represented in our day. We never felt overwhelmed or stressed because we knew Michael had hired us the best-of-the-best wedding team. Everyone he recommended to us were amazing and we felt very confident leading up to the day that our vision would come together and it did, plus some! It was all beautiful and the team made us feel so special.
  Our friends and family have not stopped raving about the day and most often mentioned, is Michael. We are so grateful to have found him and to have spent the last year working with him. We will miss him very much!!

  An expert and a trusted friend

  I received so many words from my family members and friends about how wonderful Michael was at our wedding. That's what my husband and I got to experience for the year we worked with him. He is truly an amazing person who goes above and beyond for his clients and provides immense support throughout the entire process tailored to each couple he works with. I know this, because it couldn't have always been easy working with my husband and I, and yet, he stuck with us and believed in us, even through times that we felt stress and pressure as we completed our graduate studies and worked full time. That, I appreciate the most. By having Michael Marcoux as a wedding planner, you gain a wealth of experience, wisdom, and guidance at your disposal, but more than that, you gain a true friend throughout the process, a person who listens and brings to fruition the elements most meaningful to you and your partner.

  I received so many words from my family members and friends about how wonderful Michael was at our wedding. That's what my husband and I got to experience for the year we worked with him. He is truly an amazing person who goes above and beyond for his clients and provides immense support throughout the entire process tailored to each couple he works with. I know this, because it couldn't have always been easy working with my husband and I, and yet, he stuck with us and believed in us, even through times that we felt stress and pressure as we completed our graduate studies and worked full time. That, I appreciate the most. By having Michael Marcoux as a wedding planner, you gain a wealth of experience, wisdom, and guidance at your disposal, but more than that, you gain a true friend throughout the process, a person who listens and brings to fruition the elements most meaningful to you and your partner.

  The Best of the Best!!!

  We were incredibly lucky to have Michael referred to us after he planned a wedding for a colleague. At our first meeting, Michael said something along the lines of: “My goal is that you have absolutely no stress your wedding weekend because you will have confidence that no matter what comes our way I will have it managed and taken care of so that you sit back and enjoy every moment of the weekend”. And is exactly how we and our parents felt the entire weekend. We had a zero stress wedding weekend because of Michaels meticulous planning, ability to identify problems before they arose, and his incredible dedication to making our vision come to reality.
  
  We did the full package deal where Michael helped us find a venue, all our vendors, and was present our FULL wedding weekend (three days!). He set up countless tours until we found the perfect venue. He set up zoom calls with vendors to make sure that we connected with them prior to booking and he was present for every call in case questions came up. He came to all of our walk throughs at the venue and stayed late after to enjoy a margarita with us as we debriefed.  We appreciated that he allowed a nice mix of letting us lead the way to create a vision for the weekend of our dreams, while also knowing when to step in when something didn’t seem right or to suggest additional ideas. What was most impressive was his impressively positive attitude throughout it all. He always had a smile on his face and was eager to hear even our craziest ideas, always happy to find a way to make them a reality.
  
  At the end of the weekend, we had to stop counting how many guests came up to us and asked how we got so lucky in finding Michael. His positive energy is contagious and everyone could tell how he kept the entire weekend seamlessly running so smoothly. If you need a wedding planner, stop searching now and reach out to Michael - you won’t be disappointed.

  Michael is simply the best there is

  Hiring Michael was hands down the best decision we made.
  
  Michael cares deeply about the events he helps to plan. From the big picture ‘vibe’ of the event, to the tiniest flower arrangement, Michael is careful to help craft wedding events that the couple and their guests will remember for a lifetime. Importantly, he responds to you - always focused on ensuring that it is your vision that is enacted, ready to take charge where needed and step back when not. Michael is empowering, helping you to realize the wedding of your dreams.
  
  He is also all the things you hope for in a wedding planner; efficient, organized, and attentive. He has wonderful contacts within the industry, who speak highly of him and admire his work, so we felt confident we were always in good hands. He has thoughtful and creative suggestions, and is happy to help with the logistics of bringing those ideas to fruition. From handling the printing and formatting of quote cards we had made, to testing fabric pens and tying ribbons onto wedding favors, he's happy to take the stress out of the details. He is a very calming presence, handling every twist and turn with grace and ease.   Mike was a terrific wedding planner and did a phenomenal job for our wedding in Newport, RI in October of 2021! We got engaged in September 2020 - in the middle of COVID - and had to plan during COVID as well. The vast majority of our guests were supposed to travel in from across the country as well Europe.   When we first met Mike, we had selected many of the vendors and were pretty far along in the planning process. But due to the COVID developments at the time, and the general stresses of planning a wedding, we had lost some of our enthusiasm for the wedding.   Mike organized an absolutely perfect wedding weekend for us

  Michael Marcoux planned our wedding on 9/11/21 in Providence, Rhode Island. My groom and I could not have been happier with how smooth the weekend was and how everything was organized. We are so grateful to Mike for all of his recommendations - including our beautiful venue, The Graduate Providence (formerly the Biltmore).   The only wedding planner you should consider!

  My son was married to his sweetheart at the Graduate Hotel in Providence, Rhode Island. It was a three-day affair with a rehearsal dinner and Welcome Drinks on Friday, the ceremony and reception (with a stellar band) on Saturday, and brunch on Sunday morning.
  
  My son and his bride had interviewed many planners before finding Mike Marcoux. During their first conversation, they found a striking difference between him and the other planners. Mike was really interested in learning about what they wanted in a wedding and also in getting to know them as individuals. The other planners were focused on telling them what they would do for them.
  
  Long before they met Mike, my son and his bride had made a decision not to have their wedding at a hotel. When they met, Mike in his gentle and unobtrusive manner suggested that they at least look at the Graduate Hotel. It was originally known as the Biltmore and had been built in the 1920s. They loved it immediately. The grand architectural features of a bygone era that the Graduate embodies made it very different from any hotel they had seen. As my son told me, "Mike knew our preferences almost better than we knew them ourselves!". This was the start of a process that Mike threw his heart into.
  
  When I first met Mike, I noticed that he treated everyone with kindness and respect. He was friendly and had a good sense of humor. At the same time, I got the impression that he was very efficient in getting things done. If someone had an opinion about something, he would either agree with it or suggest an alternative that in his experience would work better. What was impressive to me was the way in which he did this. He would never imply that it was anything less than a great idea, just not one that had proven to be cost-effective in his experience. Needless to say, he would have deferred to us had we chosen not to take his advice.
  
  From a parent's perspective, one of the most wonderful aspects of Mike's style is that both sets of parents always felt part of the process but never burdened. The bride and groom definitely felt in charge but as my daughter-in-law put it, "Mike probably sent 20 emails for everyone that I saw. So much work that did not even cross our minds was done behind the scenes." As busy professionals, the bride and groom were extremely appreciative of Mike. As my son said, "Every recommendation he made - from vendors to logistics was perfect. He was so diligent and kept track of everything that we didn't have to worry about anything."
  
  I was impressed when Mike convened a Zoom meeting with both sets of parents and the bride and groom a couple of weeks before the wedding. He presented a clear overview of the wedding weekend with a detailed itinerary of what would happen, when it would happen, and who was involved at each step. He solicited our feedback and made clear what was needed from each of us. Not only did we feel a sense of security knowing that the wedding was so well planned, but we also felt confident that it would be perfectly executed.
  
  I have a large family and have attended a fair number of weddings. Unlike other weddings I have been to where the occasional misstep or unexpected moment was the norm, my son's entire wedding weekend was executed by Mike with flawless surgical precision from start to finish.
  
  Several guests who had the experience of attending their own children's weddings told me that my son's wedding was the very best one they had ever attended. These were not empty compliments. I keep getting emails, texts, and phone calls from guests raving about the wedding.
  
  When I mentioned to my son that I wanted to write a review for Mike, he said, "Mike deserves the most glowing review imaginable". My only regret is that Wedding Wire does not permit me to give Mike more than 5 stars. I know that this may seem a bit over the top to those of you who are still searching for a wedding planner, but as far as my family, my daughter-in-law's family, and 150 guests are concerned, Mike deserves far more than five stars. "Why?" you ask. It is because he is without a doubt, the best wedding planner on the planet!!

  Michael pulled off the ultimate COVID wedding with only 4 weeks’ notice. The wedding took place at the Boston Harbor Hotel & Michael made the event look like something out of a magazine. Michael helped us coordinate our celebration in February while abiding by city COVID restrictions and still made it feel like an unrestricted celebration. Given the limited staff allowed due to COVID, Michael performed several roles allowing us to relax and fully enjoy the day. Michael acted not only as the wedding coordinator, but also as the ceremony coordinator, interior designer, florist, bartender, waitstaff, DJ, usher, and therapist!
  
  The wedding went absolutely beautifully. It was a dream-come-true day and it wouldn’t have been possible without Michael. Even with short notice & COVID restrictions, Michael had everything 100% under control at all times. Trust me, you want this a planner!!!!!

  A Wonderful Experience

  My husband and decided to find a wedding coordinator when we canceled our original wedding plans due to Covid and decided to downsize to a small backyard wedding. Michael was recommended to us by our wedding caterer and we are so grateful that he was. From the beginning we could tell that Michael was not only very thorough but that he truly cared that we felt comfortable and happy with the result. In the days leading up to the Michael made sure everything was in place with our vendors and even planned for the unexpected. The day of the wedding, Michael felt like family. It felt great to see all of our hard work together come to fruition and Michael seemed truly happy for us on our big day. And when those unexpected moments occurred, Michael made sure they were not only taken care of but that we didn’t have to stress about them. Michael was friendly, personable, organized and very detailed. We enthusiastically and highly recommend Michael Marcoux!

  Truly passionate & puts heart and soul into his work

  I don’t even know where to begin with how amazing Michael is. From the second we met him we knew in our bones he was the absolute perfect person to help us plan our wedding. Not only did Michael help us plan a wedding during COVID, but he made it completely flawless, and worked with us every single step of the way, amongst all of the changes due to the pandemic. This is not just a job to Michael. He invests his heart and soul into his work. What more could you ask for? You can feel his passion and dedication every single step of the way. I’m actually sad the wedding is over since we got so close with him, but I know he will be in our lives forever. We received tons of compliments about how seamless and flawless the wedding was and it is all thanks to the amazing work of Michael and his ability to work magic both with us and all of our other vendors. There were many times I felt as though Michael knew and understood more of a vision for our wedding than we did. On the day of the wedding, I thought I would be nervous and anxious and I was completely relaxed and comfortable and it’s because I knew everything was going to be just perfect and I didn’t have to worry about a thing.   Outstanding!!!!!!!

  Michael was SUCH a dream to work with! He planned my best friends wedding and as one of her involved bridesmaids with an events background- I really appreciated his attention to detail, demeanor, can do attitude, and continued professionalism during the planning process and most importantly- on her weekend weekend.

His attention to detail and genuine passion for what he does made for an absolutely perfect day. Weddings (especially in times of covid) can be stressful- he took all the stress away and helped put together one of the most fun weddings I can remember. If I could go back in time and plan my own wedding all over again I would make sure to hire Michael. He’s the best!!
