We were married at Delia's Garden, which is a big outdoor grassy area with trees around the edges. It was a beautiful day and a beautiful location. McMenamins handles all of the rentals and set-up for you, although they were hard to find the day of, but I had a friend helping with set-up, so she handled all of that. Everything went off without a hitch and my guests had a wonderful time! We were able to just partially host the bar, which worked out well, and we did the taco bar for dinner, which was delicious. I recommend McMenamins to anyone, especially if you are on a budget.

We really enjoyed our wedding at the Grand Lodge. That being said, there were several things that could have been better. The coordinator I worked with was great about replying to emails and returning calls, until about a month out from the wedding, then she became hard to get a hold of. Day of, we were told that we would have access to the Cottage at 12:30 to start setting up, but we didn't get in to the building until just before 1, even after calling the front desk twice, which put us behind our very tight schedule. The caterer was mia according to the front desk, and had misplaced our rented linens. There was an issue with a lack of silverware and mugs as well. The biggest concern was the bartender; he was hosting everything, when we were only hosting beer and wine. Thankfully, we were able to catch this early on in the evening and it was corrected. For all the problems we had, everything ultimately turned out well.

    You only get one day.

You only get one day, make sure your venue understands this. Mcmenamines is not known for service, therefore we discussed this many times before signing out contract. For 120 people, they gave us one bartender and one person on the buffet and clearing tables. They also had 3 other weddings going that night. They put the wrong beers on tap, the setup was wrong, they forgot to put out our gold chargers, they didn't reset between ceremony and reception, the food buffet sat empty even though there was a ton of food left over, and the contract that they tried to show us was not our signed contract.

The one thing that I can say is that the front lawn was beautiful, and the BBQ was delicious. They paid heavily for being in breach of contract, so hopefully they have learned their lesson. For us it was worth having an outdoor location that people could spend the night. I would not do another event there.
