  I can't say enough about the power photographer couple, Joe and Monique Hummel. Both are an absolute pleasure to work with and go above and beyond my expectations of a phenomenal photographer. Not only did they help us pick out our engagement shoot site (we couldn't make up our minds) but they scouted out scenery options on their own time to ensure they knew where the best locations were. The day of the shoot was so much fun. Joe and Monique made us feel so comfortable and Joe's eye for creativity is unmatched. He saw spots that looked ordinary and took extraordinary photos. Our photos are work of arts and I would absolutely recommend Hummel Photography to anyone looking for a high quality experience with breath taking photos to commemorate one of the most important days of your life.

  Joseph and Monique were awesome! We could not have been more pleased! The really helped us with the planning process, timeline ideas, were very easy to contact and were extremely professional. The day of our wedding went incredibly smoothly, and we were able to get some AMAZING pictures. Would absolutely recommend!!

  My Husband and I first met Joe and Monique December 2016. We happened to be in Lake Tahoe for our wedding tasting and they scheduled us in after. The moment we met Joe and Monique we felt this instant connection. We knew we were in the process of making life long friends. After our meeting we continued to communicate through email/phone to schedule our engagement shoot. We had the best time with our engagement shoot. Joe and Monique took all the hassle out by hiring the hair and make up artists (which they only hire the best) and securing the shooting locations. It made it so convenient for us since we live out of state. This actually also helped me (the Bride) hire my hair and make up artist for my wedding day. Once we got our engagement photos back we were completely blown away. Joe and Monique captured some of the most beautiful pictures, they are jaw dropping. Both of our families couldn't believe how amazing they came out. It really got everyone excited for the wedding photos. We couldn't wait to see what they were going to capture. Our wedding took place in July 2017. Joe and Monique made the day so much fun. They literally had to wrangle cats with our huge families, and both of them remained very calm and professional during those stressful moments. We also did the bridal shoot about a month after our wedding and they again went over and beyond coordinating it all. We are beyond happy with the way our photos turned out! We look forward to working with them every year and see what beauty they will capture! They are not just our wedding photographers, they are now our good friends!

  Joseph and his wife Monique are amazing people and photographers. Weddings are stressful enough but with us planning ours from out of state, Joseph went above and beyond to assist. His recommendations were spot on from the DJ to the hair and make-up. We spoke to the two of them multiple times and had the opportunity to get to know them prior to our engagement pictures. Once the wedding came around they felt like guests, which made it so easy to be ourselves around him. We are so beyond happy to have his work hanging on our walls at home and to be able to call the Hummel’s our friends.

  It is til this very moment that we are able to look at the prints displayed in our home and instantly be back on our wedding day.
  
  Joseph is not a person who simply captures photos, he captures moments which we will cherish forever. Beyond that, he was so much more than our photographer, but also a liason between us and our vendors.   Joseph and his wife were awsome!! They went way beyond just being a photographer at our sons wedding in Lake Tahoe. We cherish the memories and the photos were Fantastic. Absolutely recommend them.

  Joe took group pictures of four rambunctious children ages 8, 4, 3 and 1 1/2. He managed to get MANY stunning pictures, some posed and some candid! I was very impressed because the kids were wild to say the least. There are so many great shots to choose from. Narrowing down to a few favorites will be a challenge. Not a bad predicament!

  Working with Joe and Monique has been a pleasure. We had engagement pictures done in San Francisco and Tahoe, and our wedding at Winter's Creek Lodge (Mt Rose). They all turned out truly amazing. We got the posed pretty pictures that everyone wants and needs, but also the kind of pictures that you would hang on your wall, even if they didn't have us in them.
  
  It's easy to relax and get those genuine pictures with Joe and Monique. The amount of work and thought they put into your wedding is above and beyond. Scouting locations before hand, doing a goofy nerdy photo shop for one of your pictures (I honestly thought we'd get turned down, but Joe was excited to do it), and top notch professionalism.
  
  You won't go wrong with this fantastic couple covering your most precious moments.

  Before hiring Joe for our wedding on October 23rd, 2016, I had worked with him at a wedding the previous year. I was lucky in being able to see him work from a wedding coordinator's point of view before I saw him from a bride's point of view. The minute I saw his photos in 2015 (just on his camera's display screen) I knew that I wanted Joe and Monique to photograph my future wedding (and I wasn't even engaged yet!).
  
  Flash forward to February 2016, I was finally engaged and my first choice was Joe. The absolute selling point was how amazingly well Joe and Monique got along with my now husband and I. Hiring Joseph Hummel Photography was, by far, one of the EASIEST decisions while planning our wedding.
  
  We chose quality over quantity and it worked out in our favor. He is worth every penny, and made both of us feel extremely comfortable and like we were his only clients. Not once did he use the words "I'm too busy at the moment" which I have heard several other photographers say.
  
  Joe and Monique went ABOVE and BEYOND all of our expectations of wedding photographers and that didn't change at any point leading up to and during the wedding.
  
  We got married at Winter's Creek at Mt. Rose, and Joe took the natural beauty of the lodge and the view into consideration with every photo that he took.
  
  I would hire him again and again and I will suggest him to my future clients.

That feeling paid off again and again as Joe delivered an extremely high quality product from amazing engagement photos, to a wonderful guestbook, to perfect photos from our wedding day. Joe was able to capture such wonderful candid photos, it never felt like we were being photographed. The engagement photos were OUTSTANDING. We've gotten so many comments from friends and family on how great the photos turned out. Friends that have been a part of many weddings commented on how they thought we got the “best photographer in the biz.” Not only did he get along really well with all the groomsmen and bridesmaids, he made everyone feel comfortable and delivered outstanding photos. He even helped us catch our running away dogs during the engagement photos! His turnaround time was insanely fast and we had our photos as soon as we got back from the honeymoon! He also put together a touching slide show to be played at dinner with photos from getting ready, the ceremony and the cocktail hour! We felt extremely comfortable with him throughout the entire process. I have worked as a wedding photographer assistant with a friend of mine and I know first hand how much work this is. Joe and Monique work very hard to make sure you have the perfect day and have great photos. We could not have asked for more. Even when my mother has contacted him with help ordering photos he was so nice and extremely helpful. I cannot say enough good things about our experience. Joe and his wife are amazing people and it was an absolute pleasure to get to know them throughout the entire process. We look forward to working with them again in the future.

  We got married at Taber Ranch on August 20th, 2016. Joseph and Monique are amazing. They were able to become a part of the big day. I relied so much the day of the wedding in the both of them and they were always there. Monique always made sure my hair and make up was ok and that I always had water because it was so hot. Joe was very good and finding awesome shots and reminding me how to stand so that I look great in the photos. These two work so well together it's amazing. I loved every moment of doing our photos and was so excited to see them. I love every single photo that they each took so much! They made my day so memorable, fun and enjoyable.
  I was so glad that they took photos that I would have never thought of taking. I also loved when I told him an idea that I had not only did he make it happen, he made it better then I had imagined it.
  I would highly recommend Joseph Hummel to everyone I know. We got the amazing gift of having him do both our engagement photos and our wedding. My favorite photos of my husband and myself are ones that he took. He makes you laugh and feel comfortable. I cannot wait to find reasons to do more photo sessions with him.

  Joe and Monique were fantastic! They braved one of the giant storms last winter to meet with us and the coordinator at Sugar Bowl, then met with us later that same day at The Ritz Northstar for a session during that same storm. They made a special trip down to the Bay Area for a session on our turf, and offered so much great advice on logistics and how to actually pull off a great wedding that I was truly impressed. They were so calm and friendly yet completely professional. During the ceremony and reception I barely noticed they were lurking about, but they managed to get some great shots. I would highly recommend Joe & Monique for your best day ever!

  Joseph did our engagement pictures and I am beyond happy with the results. He listened to everything we wanted and made it happen. He is incredibly professional and easy to work with. My fiance and I are both very shy and awkward in front of the camera and he made us feel very at ease and captured some amazing shots when we weren't even paying attention. He was able to fit us in last minute for our engagement shoot because I wanted to get the fall leaves in our pictures before they were all gone and those pictures came out exactly how I wanted them to. I've recommended him to all of my friends and family.
  I cannot wait to see how our wedding pictures come out later this year, so glad I found Joe!

  Joseph went above and beyond any expectations we had for our wedding photographer. He went over every aspect of the day with us before hand so that we didn't have to worry about anything photography related on our wedding day. He was very respectful to the attendees during the ceremony, and you didn't even know he was there. The photographs came out stunning, he has an eye that unmatched and can use lighting in ways that make every photo unique.

  If I could give Joseph Hummel photography a higher rating I would! I am not a natural when it comes to posing for pictures....but Joseph just makes you feel so comfortable and gives the best pointers & tips to make you look your best!! He really was a pleasure to work with, if I had to do it again I'd pay twice as much just to get him because the quality of his work is so amazing and worth every penny!!

  Joseph's photography and energy are both amazing. We could definitely see his creativity during the shoots and in the proofs. He organizes large groups easily and definitely enjoys working with people! I love the way he uses lighting to make the final shots glow!

  My gratitude could not be expressed more for Joe Hummel and all that he did for my wedding. He was accommodating and very understanding of the days busy schedule, and was able to capture every moment of our beautiful wedding day. He knew how to capture the small details that I spent so much time on, it made our pictures feel really intimate and like we were right back at the wedding when we saw them. A lot of the photographers that we spoke with were very transactional, we felt like we were just a number and $$ to them. Joseph took the time to get to know us and what we wanted - not just "oh yeah, I do this for all the weddings". He understood the style we were going for and I love love love the finished product. Also, Joseph was willing to work with us and didnt try to sell us things we didnt want. All in all, I am so so happy!!

  I can't say enough good stuff about my experience with Joe Hummel. He did our engagement pics in Tahoe last summer. Not only was it a super fun evening, but nature cooperated and gave us the most amazing sunset! He was very professional, and the end result was beautiful photos that we will always love!

He worked with whatever we wanted and had creative ideas when we didn't know what we wanted. We had some of our pictures back within a few days and the rest back within a few weeks! And about the actual photos... There is not a single photo we don't love and there's not a moment he missed. Our pictures were fantastic!

  BEWARE-run the risk of a last minute cancel

  We hired Joseph over 3 months ago. We discussed in length our vision, filled out the in depth questionnaire, and gave a deposit. Joseph said he and his wife were available for our wedding date. Fast forward to 3 months later, he claims he’s now unavailable and refunded our deposit without the courtesy of a conversation. Beware, he is super unreliable and you run the risk of him canceling to obtain a better financial opportunity.
