    Jenna is amazing!!

    My fiancé surprised me by hiring Jenna for his proposal at Smith Rock in Bend, OR. She did a great job of waiting nearby without blowing the surprise, and once he popped the question she stepped in to walk us through a photo shoot at the site and did a great job of directing us without making us feel awkward or uncomfortable. The photos came out so great, we’re using them for our save the dates!

    My Genuine Smile

    I've always felt that I've had to force my smile during pictures. Jenna helped me feel so comfortable and brought out the most genuine smile during the best/most stressful day of my life. I felt like she was one of my bridesmaids and I'm so glad she was part of my special day.

    It's like hiring a childhood friend for a day

    Jenna perfectly balances professionalism and approachability. She truly feels like your best friend from childhood grew up to be a photographer. She made my wife and both sides of our family feel at ease with a stranger. She had us laughing and forgetting we'd only known her a couple months before the wedding. I'm so glad she was part of our special day.

    Disappointing Family Photos

    I hired Jenna Chernich to photograph our family group in Bend. Jenna did not follow through with her contractual obligation. She shot only 1 of the 2 hours for which she was hired and then said she had more than enough photos. She delivered the photos in week 9, rather than the 4 - 8 weeks promised. Most disappointing of all is the quality of photography. Our faces are dark shadowy, and the faces are indistinct. Jenna offered a discount to compensate for the poor quality, and she did not follow through with her offer.

    Really Disappointed!

    After thinking about this for over a year, I feel compelled to share my experience with Jenna as a wedding photographer. What prompts this review is not only our ongoing disappointment with the service but also learning that Jenna has been making false and disparaging statements in our community about payment issues, despite us having paid in full before receiving any photos. She has also criticized us for requesting RAW photo files when we sought to have another photographer assist with editing.
    There were significant issues throughout our experience. She made inappropriate comments about our ability to afford her services after seeing our social media posts about attending a concert. She asked for early payment once to pay her rent/bills.
    On our wedding day, she came with minimal equipment - just one camera and no flash - which proved inadequate for indoor photography. During the reception, we had to use cell phone flashlights to illuminate the cake-cutting ceremony because she didn't have proper lighting equipment. Even though I provided specific pose ideas and inspiration photos, many shots missed the mark due to poor positioning - photos included distracting elements like light poles and shadows that could have been avoided or edited out.
    After the wedding, we waited 4 months to receive our photos. Every week Jenna made excuses of why she couldn’t get us our photographs. The final images we received needed work - many were washed out , shadows, and appeared to be straight from the camera without any professional editing. The poor quality of these photos led us to request the RAW files so we could salvage what we could through another professional's editing service. Wedding photos are meant to be treasured memories, and unfortunately, ours fell far short of professional standards. I'm sharing this experience so other couples can make fully informed decisions about their wedding photography services.

    Disappointing Experience

    I have had over a year to reflect on this and wanted to post a review so other brides don't have to deal with a similar situation. First the good: Jenna is very kind and sweet. She is easy to talk to and a warm presence. I wanted to hire vendors that I felt comfortable with, and she immediately felt like a friend. She also told us she had experience with our requirements (indoor photography, in particular). The rest: She asked for her second deposit way earlier than the required date. It was extremely awkard. She showed up on our wedding day to the salon where we were getting our hair done without her camera gear. I had to ask her to go to her car and get it. She came back and took some photos, but mostly chatted. She was going through some relationship stuff and talked about it in a detail that to me was deeply inappropriate for a wedding day. Throughout the day I felt like I had to do a lot of the admin and organizing that the rest of my vendors were able to manage themselves. I was fielding questions from her about where to go and when, though this was something we'd discussed in detail before and I'd sent a detailed schedule to her as well. I got married in September. We did not get photos til Christmas eve of that year. Throughout that time, she was posting picture of her new dog on Instagram and going on trips and posting about it all over the place and every time I reached out she would say "next week!" and it just kept getting pushed farther and farther back. When we finally got the photos, the resolution was terrible. There was no care in the editing (at one point, during a random unnecessary phone call she told me she was using AI to fix some of the lighting), no cropping, so color adjusting. Clearly she had no experience with indoor photography. It was extremely disappointing. Overpriced, low quality photos, and a deep lack of boundaries and professionalism.
