There aren’t enough stars to describe Jean, she is just fantastic. I am so grateful to have had the experience to meet and work with her. It was an absolute pleasure. I can’t imagine a more talented seamstress, and I will never need to find another. I had ordered my gown online site unseen; when it arrived I was devastated to discover that it was way too big. To say that I was simply panicked would be a serious understatement. I don’t know how I got so lucky as to find Jean. On our first fitting she immediately dispelled my fears. She was so sweet, confident and knowledgeable. Jean explained what needed to be done and assured me that we had plenty of time. She went out of her way to make sure I wasn’t going to worry anymore. When she left with my dress to begin her work it was like a ton of bricks was off my shoulders. Planning a wedding can be so stressful and the gown is a big part of that, but in that department I didn’t have to worry at all. She made it fun and she spent so much time with me. She helped me make every decision along the way and really wanted me to look my best in every last detail. She went above and beyond for me and even taught a lesson to guide my bridesmaid and mother in the step by step process of how to dress me on the big day. There was so much work involved in this gown, it needed to be taken apart and rebuilt and it has layers of intricate lace and rhinestones. With each fitting I began to see my real gown, the beautiful one that fit me perfectly. You can tell she loves what she does and it shows in her phenomenal work. I could not be happier with my dress, it’s breathtaking. I LOVE IT! It’s a dream come true and it is all because of Jean and her hard work. I cannot thank you enough for putting so much time and effort into my wedding gown. Everyone loves it and I truly cannot wait to see Jake’s face on the big day! Jean is AMAZING!!!! I bought a very simple silk dress from a consignment shop and wanted to add lace and a little more detail. Jean worked with me to figure out how to create my dream dress and gave me great ideas as to where to buy the lace fabric and embellishments. Everyone at our wedding could not stop talking about how beautiful my dress was!! Jean knows her stuff and was so much fun to work with!Jean is AMAZING!!!! Jean is an amazing and talented seamstress. She redeveloped my whole wedding dress and made the dress of my dreams. She is very good at what she does and her quality of work is outstanding. My wedding dress fit me perfectly and she was there from the beginning of the fitting to a week before the wedding to make it perfect. Not only did she make my wedding dress perfect but also she made my reception dress amazing and redesigned that to exactly what I wanted. I will be working with Jean for a lifetime. Thank you for all your hard work Jean and spending so much time with me. The wedding was a success because of Jean. Jean was my confidant; I was the only person able to do my dress fittings with because my family and friends lived further away. Jean made my wedding dress dream become a reality!
She was so flexible in her appointment times and worked around my schedule. She was available mornings, nights and weekends. She gave a free consult, and traveled to my house for each fitting, which was SO convenient for me! She listened to my vision for the dress and made it even more beautiful than I could ever imagine. She was also easy to get in contact with via phone and e-mail.
She was very professional- and obviously knew what she was doing! She was able to give a realistic and accurate quote on the job. Her pricing was a phenomenal value! She finished the job in a timely manner. She put her heart into the alterations on my wedding dress and marveled in its beauty when I tried it on! The quality of her work is beyond amazing-she is truly an artist! I cannot say enough wonderful things about Jean, I would highly recommend her for any alterations, including the very important wedding dress alterations! She is the best! Thank you Jean!!!!!!!!!

Ms. Showalter was AMAZING! My daughter needed a gown altered for her first pageant and Ms. Showalter did an amazing job on hemming her gown and fixing the zipper. My daughter won the pageant and everyone said her gown fit her perfectly. Without her help my daughter would not have been able to feel so confident in her dress. Ms. Showalter was not only finished her dress quickly, she did so with great precision and skill. I know I will use her again to alter dresses for Miss Teen Pride of Vista Allyce Calloway.Ms. Showalter was AMAZING! I bought my dress from a consignment shop and I loved it but it was a size 12 and I ended up being a size 6. It also had a long train that I didn't want for our beach ceremony. Jean took off the train and basically rebuilt the back of the dress and redesigned the lace. We had multiple fittings and she worked with me all the way up to the wedding. I purchased my wedding dress in Scottsdale, AZ. The moment I tried it on, I knew it was my dress. It felt right and I could see the final picture in my head, I just needed to find someone who could help transform my dress.
My dress originally had thin straps, a low deep V neckline in the front and back, and the front hem was 3 inches too long even in 4 inch wedges.
The lace hem and train has a beautiful scalloped edge that I wanted to match and create with the new cap sleeves that Jean created. She was amazing! She knows the fabric so well and was able to tell me what would work and what wouldn't and how to place the fabric. She was the one to make the cap sleeves look absolutely perfect!
Jean was also able to hem a scalloped edge which is no easy task, while maintaining the way the dress falls. Jean made the 'build up' to the front neck line and back deep V. She used the lace in the same way that no one was able to tell it wasn't supposed to be like that. She also noticed that when I wore my under garment it showed a little in the back. She sowed the same color fabric on my under garment to match and with the build up in the back she added the same buttons to match.
She transformed my dress into my wedding dress! I was so happy with it, it was completely perfect. So many people complimented me on my dress and who it fit and looked so perfect. Jean helped me build my perfect dress. I would recommend Jean to anyone who needs to fix or change a garment.I purchased my wedding dress in Scottsdale, AZ. I actually have had many clothes made by Jean over the last 20 years. My first was a ball gown when I was 13. My first custom gown and it means the world to me. Next, my senior prom dress. She made me shine at my prom. For my perfect wedding day, she made my dream dress come true!She listened to everything I wanted and made suggestions that only someone with a trained eye could do. My wedding gown was perfection and I cried the first day I saw the finished product. Jean is not only the woman who made my dress, she is now also a longtime friend. An amazing artist and woman!!
