Best kept secret in NYC weddings

Getting married in Manhattan was a wish of ours, but it was starting to seem impossible from a financial standpoint. So many venues were unimpressive, small, or ridiculously overpriced. Harvard Club is the most breathtaking venue ever (especially for a fall/winter wedding) and provides a complete package. No weird red tape with add on's for cocktail hour, chair upgrades, linen upgrades, hidden fees, etc. They provide a SIMPLE package that includes everything. Other venues were charging us $3K for a very necessary chair upgrade. No thank you. The venue is absolutely STUNNING and no room-flipping required. Our wedding took place in 3 rooms and had a natural flow--ceremony in Harvard Hall, cocktail hour in the Grill Room, and reception in their Main Dining Room. All rooms had their own character and charm, which added a nice layer of variety to our event from an ambience standpoint. First of all, anyone who wants to do something a bit non-traditional, I highly recommend getting married in December there because they have a floor to ceiling (30+ foot ceilings) Christmas tree in the center of the room. My husband and I got married in front of that gorgeous tree. It was a truly magical experience and Harvard Hall is the most stunning room ever to begin with. It was like getting married in Hogwarts! Anyway, the food was outrageously good. They have a phenomenal cocktail hour selection and the dinner was exceptional. They were so flexible working with us to accommodate specific requests--we wanted to serve a duet of surf and turf (filet mignon and crab cakes) to all of our guests with a silent vegetarian and chicken option and they did so with no issue at all. Jennifer, our wedding coordinator, is a total gem. She answered every email and call along the way within moments and did everything in her power to make sure we were happy, even taking care of our most annoying and detailed requests. She helped bring our perfect day to life and deserves every praise in the world. I wish we could live our day over and over again. It was a dream. Also, you don't need to be a member or be sponsored by one to host a wedding of our size!

Literally the best decision we made during wedding planning. Tom was ABSOLUTELY incredible. He was so responsive (same day responses) and the value cannot be beat for a wedding in Manhattan. They provide and take care of everything, and there really was absolutely no hiccups or obstacles along the way with anything to do with Harvard Club. Other vendors, of course yes, because it is wedding planning - but in terms of the catering/venue/etc. with Harvard Club, we were incredibly happy. We highly recommend working with Tom!

We had our wedding reception here and had the most amazing night. Everything was so wonderfully planned out and executed - not a SINGLE thing went wrong, which is rare on a wedding day! We worked with Alex and he was such a pleasure the entire time- professional, responsive and very organized.

Harvard Club exceeded my expectations in every way--they were very responsive, professional and easy to deal with. They helped me plan my wedding in under 6 weeks. The answer to almost every request was "yes, of course" (including requests for glutten-free, vegetarian, vegan and kosher meals).
The venue itself is beautiful and very authentic. There is plenty of space to get ready and to have separate space for ceremony, reception and dinner/dancing.
For a venue in NYC, I thought cost was very reasonable (thought of course not cheap--but what is in NY?).
It was a very easy venue for our guests--especially for locals.

My wife and I just had our wedding two weeks ago at the Harvard Club of New York City. Ryan Furio and his entire team were exceptional from start to finish. Not only were they willing to accommodate our every request, but they went above and beyond what we had imagined in order to make our event run seamlessly. The food was outstanding at every stage - hors deouvres, dinner, and dessert - and the drinks were constantly flowing (they were even able to make our unique signature drink!). The venue itself is very grand, and allowed us to host each part of the wedding (cocktail hour first, then ceremony, then reception) in a different setting. But the thing we were most impressed with was their professionalism. Even though we were running a bit behind schedule-wise, they were able to adapt, and work with the band (and kitchen) so that everything was well-coordinated. I highly recommend the Harvard Club for events (and no, I didn't go to Harvard).

We looked ALL over the city and ended up with the Harvard Club. The rooms are really beautiful and the staff did an incredible job. They know how to do big events and every single one of our 200+ guests commented on the high quality of the food and service. I didn't have to worry about a single thing the night/day of....Ryan executed everything we asked for flawlessly. Highly, highly recommended.

We had our wedding here and feel it was the best decision we made in our wedding planning. If you're thinking about this place, just do it.
    PROS:
    - It is an absolutely gorgeous, incredibly elegant space
    - It is a one-stop-shop for venue, food, and beverage, which made our lives so much easier
    - The staff on the big day could not have been nicer or more wonderful. We got so many comments on how perfect everything was, with special kudos to the servers throughout, who were top notch
    - The food was FANTASTIC - our guests could not stop raving about it, especially the over-the-top wonderful cocktail hour, which was so delicious and abundant that people thought it was the main meal!
    - The team was very accommodating of our special requests. We did two ceremonies on the same day, and they handled it with ease. We also had specific dietary requirements, which the chef and his team were so nice and accommodating of, even going so far as to create a custom dish that was phenomenal

    CONS:
    - our account manager did not have the level of professionalism we expected from such an elegant location, and was also much less professional than everyone else at the Harvard Club. It seems like she is an outlier. We also needed to double check everything she did as she seemed rather scattered. She was nice and helpful...she just didn't match the rest of our experience with the Club. Note: the low professionalism score above is solely related to her. Everyone else exceeded our expectations
    - there is no cake tasting. I have no idea what combo of cakes, frostings, and fillings go together, so it was weirdly nerve-wracking. That said, they were fantastically accommodating of our request - we asked for a Black Forest cake, and it was awesome in both taste and appearance

IMPORTANT: make sure the curtains in Harvard Hall are closed. There is a giant FedEx sign across the street, and it will be in every photo if left open

The Harvard Club was a beautiful setting for the wedding and the staff at the wedding were professional and efficient. Prior to the wedding, coordinator Ryan was somewhat helpful but was not especially proactive. During the wedding, he was difficult for the staff to work with and failed to arrange the music station during cocktails in a way that made sense. The venue itself was truly elegant and stately and the flowers (from Matthew at Atlas) made it even more special.
