Handsome Hollow is truly one of a kind. From the farmhouse, to the barn, to the fern forrest, to all of the romantic nooks in between, this property is absolutely stunning. On top of the beautiful property, Kate and Huck were a dream to work with. They are organized, thoughtful, attentive and worked so seamlessly with all of vendors to make our weekend amazing. There is no venue out there as special as Handsome Hollow!! -

Having our wedding at Handsome Hollow was an absolute dream. Kate and her team are professional, thorough, and beyond helpful before and on the day of the wedding. The location and grounds are stunning! We chose to have our ceremony in the fern forest a little ways up from the barn - it's like walking into a fairytale. The barn is a beautiful reception space that's open, inviting, and even more magical after sunset under the glowing string lights! We had a few guests including a couple of our family members who required assistance walking at certain times, but that was not a problem at all... The team communicates like special special forces to make sure everyone is comfortable and anyone requiring assistance gets shuttled swiftly by an off road buggy wherever they need to go! We also got shuttled as Bride & Groom does have it's privelages :) It was such a relief to know everyone was taken care of. Staying in the guest house was fantastic. The morning of the wedding I got ready upstairs in the barn loft, while my wife had the farmhouse the with hair/makeup and all of that. It's such a cute house, and was so nice to not have any traveling before our big day. Everything you would need is stocked at the farmhouse and help always seemed readily available if needed. It was just the relaxed easy going atmosphere we needed to chill out as much as possible before the wedding. There are so many great nooks and places for photo ops at Handsome Hollow! For a summer day it wasn't too hot at all, maybe the elevation helps a bit with that! It was warm before the ceremony when we took some photos in the sun, but we just cooled down in the farmhouse afterwards. The ceremony in the fern garden was under cover of trees so it was perfectly cool (both temperature and vibes!) The barn just seems to stay cool also, so that was no issue at all.
We didn't get a chance to eat our desserts, so the team brought them up to the farmhouse for us to enjoy after the wedding was over. It's that level of hospitality, and so appreciated. My only regret is that I couldn't split myself into two people so I could not only get married, but also see the food buffet, see the s'mores by the campfire, watch our first dance (we nailed it!!). Luckily we had a phenomenal wedding planner (Lauren / Wild Blooms Bridal), and phenomenal photographer (Joshua Brown) to compliment the venue! It was truly an amazing day, and we can't thank you enough. You cannot go wrong with Handsome Hollow!!! -

From the second we stepped foot into Handsome Hollow, we knew we had to get married here. It truly is a special place. Kate and Huck are the absolute best of the best at what they do. They were incredibly responsive during our year of planning and when the weekend finally came, they truly went above and beyond to make sure everything went smoothly and looked beautiful. We had some weather issues after our rehearsal dinner, and they took full care to make sure everything went on as planned. We are so grateful we found them. -

Handsome Hollow is a stunning venue! We had rain in our forecast but no problem, because the barn is as beautiful as the grounds! When the skies cleared at the last moment, the staff made sure my daughter had her dream outdoor wedding. Kate, Huck and staff are responsive, professional, accommodating and just plain wonderful! Our vendors loved working with them and made my daughter's day so special. Little details are seen to and big details are handled. Handsome Hollow is perfect! -

I honestly can't imagine having a better venue for our wedding. Handsome Hollow is a special, special place and is the perfect canvas for painting the memories which will fill your dreams for a life time. I want to start by saying that Kate and Huck are just amazing people with a perfect sense of professionalism, style, taste and love. They know what their couples are looking for as if it were a sixth sense. They were there with us every step of the way and it was not always easy considering that we live in Europe. But from the moment we found Handsome Hollow to the moment we left, filled with love the day after our wedding, Huck and Kate provided a guiding and experienced hand. Everyone that attended our wedding RAVED about how it was one of the most unique, special and magical locations they'd ever celebrated at. Many of our guests specifically noted that they had been to hundreds of weddings in their lives and Handsome Hollow was an easy pick for top 5 venue they'd ever been to. Perhaps most importantly, the vendors all loved working at Handsome Hollow which is absolutely crucial when hosting an elaborate event like a wedding. We would recommend having our wedding at this photogenic, warm, love soaked barn in the Catskills with all of our heart. Please don't think twice, you won't regret it.

I knew I wanted to get married at Handsome Hollow for about 2 years before I was even engaged. I had seen a post somewhere on instagram about it and just knew it was my venue. Once my fiancé proposed, we scheduled a walkthrough of HH pretty quickly along with one other venue in the area. There was no contest. From the moment we got there, Kate was confident, knowledgeable, and comforting. She showed us around the entire property and answered every question we had with thought and care.
Once we secured our date, Kate sent a list of recommended vendors which was extremely helpful. All had great things to say about HH as well and were excited to work another wedding there.
For the 2 years leading up to our wedding (9/24/22), Kate and Huck were incredibly responsive. They had a way of making us feel prioritized even though they were working with 30+ different couples all at the same time.
Our wedding day truly couldn't have been more perfect. Kate was so comforting and provided a really lovely stress free vibe. The grounds were groomed to perfection and everything went off without a hitch thanks to Kate's recommended vendors and the Handsome Hollow team.
I cant say enough about our weekend at Handsome Hollow, I want to relive it over and over again! I hope I get to be a guest at a wedding there one day so I can experience it from the other side! Thank you Kate and Huck for the best day of our life!

We are so happy that we decided to get married at Handsome Hollow!
When visiting the venue (covered in snow) in March 2021, we immediately knew that this was the place where we wanted to celebrate with our family and friends. As outdoorsy people, we love how the venue is nestled in nature (no other property or road in sight) and features both a vibrant fern forest and rolling mountains. We also adored the charm and high-end details of the barn–the romantic string lights, the large rolling doors on each side of the barn which allow guests to enjoy the outdoor setting while inside (in comparison to the stereotypical dark barn), the details on the bathroom floors, and more. In short, the perfect setting for a summer wedding in the Catskills.
Initially, some of our guests questioned why we’d get married in such a remote place, but even our most skeptical guests instantly fell in love with the venue and thought the trip was more than worth it. Lots of guests told us that our wedding was a true fairytale and encapsulated who we are as a couple. Besides the serene surroundings, we also loved the variety of sites at the same location. Guests were welcomed with a drink at the ruins, we then got married in the stunning forrest (people were raving about the natural light beaming through the trees and birds singing), we enjoyed cocktails and life music on the romantic patio, dinner and dancing in the barn, snuck in a s’more at the majestic bonfire, and took some late-night photos underneath the outdoor string lights at night.
While we were not in close contact with Kate during the wedding preparations (although she did answer every question promptly), her eye for detail and attention to us and our guests on the day of the wedding did not go unnoticed. We organized the wedding ourselves, but worked with a wedding coordinator on the day of the event so we could fully enjoy our day. We highly recommend collaborating with Every Little Detail (coordinator) and Main Course (caterer) as they frequently work together with Kate and are perfectly attuned to ensure that all details are in order and guests can enjoy the best experience.
If you’re dreaming of an outdoorsy whimsical wedding, we highly recommend Handsome Hollow. That said, here are a few considerations to keep in mind as you start planning:
(1) A big part of the magic of Handsome Hollow is that it’s nestled in nature but the remote location also implies that you’ll have a smaller set of vendors to choose from and higher delivery or travel costs.
(2) There are few hotels in the area that allow larger room blocks. Villa Roma has very poor ratings and boutique hotels don’t allow you to block multiple rooms far in advance. Most of our guests opted for AirBnBs, which made it hard to organize buses.
(3) There are no Ubers/Lyfts in the area and very limited taxi services. Further, if you want to extend the party after 12pm, you’ll be obliged to organize buses or taxis (even if your guests are scattered across the area).
(4) The preferred vendor list we received could benefit from some updates as multiple businesses were no longer in business or no longer want to travel to Handsome Hollow.
(5) Make sure to remind your guests to take a shawl or jacket for the night, even on warm summer days. -

Choosing a wedding venue can be a daunting process but for my husband and I it was an obvious decision. Handsome Hollow is such a truly beautiful and magical place! The barn is so elegant with its timber framing and natural grey tone and the patio was absolutely perfect for cocktail hour! The farmhouse provided us with so much comfort, it was amazing to be able to stay right on site. The wrap around porch was a haven for us the next day to soak in the whole experience! The property is honestly breathtaking, I couldn’t have imagined it better! Kate and Huck were incredibly helpful, from the planning process to the day unfolding their organization and experience truly made the day what it was! Thank you so much!! Handsome Hollow was the first & only venue we looked at and we couldn't have been happier with our choice! The venue is beautiful, we got married end of April when things were still starting to bloom and it was still breathtaking. Kate & Huck were there every step of the way - from picking our vendors to helping to coordinate the day of, and every little question in between (not to mention helping us postpone our wedding due to covid!). Kate provided me with a list of all different vendors in the area that she has worked with and it was a lifesaver!!! It saved me so much stress, not only did all of my vendors know Kate & Huck but they also knew each other & it made my life so much easier! It really made the whole weekend come together perfectly. I also love that you get to stay the weekend in the farmhouse, it was a little getaway and the perfect place to spend our wedding weekend. Nothing better than walking a few steps to bed after a long day of celebrating!! We had our welcome dinner/drinks, reception and farewell brunch all in the barn and the team at HH had it set up differently everyday to change things up which was a really cute touch. Thank you Kate & Huck (and all of the amazing staff at HH!) for making our wedding weekend everything we had dreamed of! -

We had our wedding at Handsome Hollow on 10/22/21, and there are truly no words for how perfect of an experience we had. The area of upstate NY, the barn, the farmhouse, the property, it all possesses a unique intrinsic charm that you just can’t find anywhere else. We were buzzing with happiness all weekend; it was the most magical and enchanted time of our lives. The venue is elegant and intimate, truly everything you could ask for and more. We are so beyond grateful.
In addition, Kate and Huck are the most wonderful, hospitable and helpful individuals. Their organization, attention to detail, and endless support act as built in wedding planners the day of and leading up! Not only were they sweet and respectful, but they made sure that everything was done, in place, and moving smoothly the entire day so that we could be present and enjoy ourselves in the moment. Their love for each other, and what they do is palpable. When you have a wedding at Handsome Hollow, you truly feel like family. Our guests couldn’t stop talking about how our wedding was “the most magical venue they’ve ever been to.” All credit to Kate and Huck!
Our day was 10 years in the making, therefore you have no idea how much it meant for a decades worth of dreams to come true. So if you’re looking for the perfect place to unify with the love of your life, you’ve found it! -

Handsome Hollow is absolute magic. From the moment we stepped on the property and met with Kate, we knew we had to have our wedding there. We originally went to visit in the early spring before everything had bloomed and reserved our date trusting that it was exactly what we saw in photos, and we are so glad we did.
Kate and Huck made us feel like family from the get go, and were there every step of the way (over 15 months) to put our minds at ease, answer questions, and to generally make us excited for our wedding. Especially during such a time of uncertainty with Covid happening, Kate always made us reassured us that things would work out perfectly.
Kate and Huck assisted with vendor planning, site set-up, logistics, day-of coordination, the list goes on. They were there for us fully day of. From the very minute we arrived on the property, until the very end, Kate and Huck made sure everything ran smoothly.
And who can forget how absolutely stunning this property is? We got ready at the property, making full use of the farmhouse for the girls and the barn loft for the guys.
Come showtime, our guests were baffled by Handsome Hollow. “Where did you find this place?!” was the most common question of the night. After all, they’d had welcome drinks next to stone ruins, walked through a fern forest to a wooded ceremony, and partied all night long in a barn fit for a Hollywood film. When the sun goes down, the place turns into an entirely new type of dream, fit with string lights, lanterns, and Huck’s famous campfire.
We had a vision for our wedding, but Handsome Hollow blew every vision out of the water. Our guests are still telling us how incredibly beautiful the place was, and how high we set the bar for future weddings.
It was perfect. Absolutely perfect. Thank you, Kate and Huck for making our day everything it was. -

After being engaged to my best friend the journey to find the place we would get married began. We wanted something different from a ball room wedding, somewhere that was beautiful and peaceful all on its on. I came across Handsome Hollow on a IG post and got lost in the unreal photos. After spending hours researching this beautiful place we set a time to meet Kate. From the moment we stepped on Handsome Hollow's property we were enchanted by this magical place. Everything from the Farmhouse, Barn and to the site we would have the ceremony was everything we could ever dream of. Kate and Huck have done something special there and you can feel it the moment you arrive. As the planning picked up and only 8 months to go, a pandemic put a huge dent into our plans. Kate and Huck were there for us every step of the way. With their help we deicide to go forward with our October 2020 wedding and it was the best thing we could have ever done! Our wedding went from 175 guest to 50 and even though we did not have as many people, Kate and Huck made sure that we felt the love. The Handsome Hollow team rose to the occasion when it came to making sure all our guest and their staff were safe. While working their way though this "new normal" they were able to still make our day a dream come true. Handsome Hollow forever has a special place in our heart, as I am sure all the other couples before us can agree on. Kate and Huck know what they are doing and we will forever will be thankful for them. 2020 has had a lot of darkness and we are just so grateful that they gave us a whole lot of light! -

Not only is Handsome Hollow the most beautiful venue, but it's run by two of the kindest people. After meeting Kate and Huck we knew we didn't want to get married anywhere else. Mike and I are still on a high from our epic wedding weekend at Handsome Hollow. The venue and the grounds are absolutely breathtaking and we knew from the moment we saw it that we had to get married there. We decided to have our ceremony in the back woods area and so many people told us that it was the most magical and stunning ceremony they had ever seen. We had peak foliage that weekend so we had a pretty sublime backdrop with leaves cascading around us. The barn itself is a showstopper. Once the doors opened up for dinner and dancing everyone was in awe. Kate and Huck were so professional and on top of their game. They were always so helpful and communicative with us up until the day and went above and beyond for us the day of the wedding. I love how hands on they are and I always felt like I was taken care of because they make the whole day as stress free as can be so you and your loved ones can just enjoy. I can't thank Kate, Huck and their amazing staff enough. Everything was run so seamlessly I wondered how it was getting all done! Being able to stay onsite was one of my favorite things because I could easily stay on top of what needed to be done and get a head start on our personal decor. The farmhouse that is included is not only a dream home that I wish I could live in forever but it is stocked with anything you may need. Kate and Huck have really thought of everything. Get married at Handsome Hollow if you want the most Magical, Memorable and Beautiful wedding of your dreams. -

If you are looking for a beautiful venue with the most communicative and efficient team by your side, I would highly recommend Handsome Hollow for your wedding venue!
Handsome Hollow was the first venue we found online that we were immediately drawn to simply because of its beauty. As soon as we visited, two years prior to our wedding, we knew it was the venue of our dreams and had to lock it down. As soon as you pull up, you see the dreamy white farmhouse with the breathtaking barn in the back behind a large field of overgrown grasses and wildflowers. The property itself is vast with three options for the ceremony site, endless amounts of space, and a little creek that runs through it. The barn has large sliding doors and the walls all have small holes in them which provides the barn with peaceful and ample lighting. We had 140 guests and everyone fit comfortably on the main floor of the barn with a space to dance! The new cocktail area just behind the bar is recently renovated with tons of space for guests to mingle and enjoy the outdoor space throughout the cocktail hour and reception.
Handsome Hollow is not only the most gorgeous property we saw, but it also comes with two amazing hosts; Kate and Huck. We met Kate upon arrival and she had a fire going in the farmhouse and freshly baked cookies- we were already impressed! Throughout the process, Kate and Huck were communicative, efficient, helpful and honest. They were very clear on what they would provide and also their limitations right from the start so you knew what you were getting. Kate also made herself available through phone and email anytime we had questions regarding the venue itself, additional vendors or just needed their advice on planning. Kate gave us suggestions on vendors that would best fit our budget and listened to our concerns when we had them. The day before the wedding, Huck was there to run us through the ceremony plans, help us get the main furniture pieces into the barn and talk to and coordinate with our ceremony musicians. On the day of, they were both there along with their wonderful staff and made sure everything was perfect down to the very last detail. I could not thank them enough for being super helpful (this comes from someone who is very much type A). In all honesty, I did not worry or stress one bit on the day of and I truly trusted that Kate and Huck would do their best to make sure everything was perfect and coordinate with all of the vendors... and they did!
Look no further, this spot is THE BEST and worth every penny. -

Can’t recommend enough. The pictures on their website are truly beautiful, but you need to see it, to be in the space and meet Kate to truly understand the value. The barn in the field of wild grass and flowers, the hidden forest grove, the soothing valley atmosphere, your home the cottage, the setting sun dancing through the trees into the amphitheater of nature around you, and you, you have front row seats.
You also have the home and venue for the weekend which was ultimately a game changer for getting settled into the space and being present and relaxed for the event.
Kate and her team were a rock of exceptional professionalism, organization, reassurance and delight throughout the whirlwind of planning our own wedding. It was a true pleasure and relief to work with them, as I told her many times. Thank you again for making our weekend as perfect as my partner, and our family and friends, deserved. -

Handsome Hollow is the most amazing wedding venue! We first spoke with Kate and Huck 2 years ago and since Day 1 they have been so responsive and knowledgable about the process, which really allowed us to enjoy the planning. We just completed our wedding weekend and could not write a review fast enough! The 93 acres of secluded property is beyond gorgeous and the barn is one of a kind. They recently added on an extended side patio which was perfect for our cocktail hour and it is where we kept the bar the entire night. All of our guests were blown away and could not stop complimenting us on how unique, creative and Us this wedding was. We could not have been happier! -

My husband and I got married at Handsome Hollow on June 15th and we couldn't have asked for a better venue. Handsome Hollow is absolutely gorgeous, with tons of flexibility for any kind of ceremony and reception. Kate and Huck are an absolute pleasure to work with; they were so communicative throughout the entire planning process and answered all my questions before I even knew to ask them. Throughout the weekend, I was so relaxed in large part to Kate's attention to detail and calm presence. The whole Handsome Hollow staff were so consistently on top of everything. The whole weekend was so smooth! And in the weeks since, in catching up with friends and family, we've heard over and over again about how absolutely gorgeous the venue is. After we chose to have our wedding at Handsome Hollow, it seemed like everything else just fell into place. I cannot recommend them enough! -

Handsome Hollow is venue that’s beauty is otherworldly and Kate and Huck are so professional, hospitable, and on top of their game, all of your wedding dreams will come true if you choose HH.
The Grounds-
Handsome Hollow is breathtaking. Up in the Catskills, the location is incredibly remote and the property spans across lush green fields and sprawling woods made up of ferns and flourishing trees. For your ceremony there are 3 “sites” to choose from. There is an area in the woods were we had our ceremony and honestly it felt like a fairytale to be surrounded so intimately by nature and to cross a small stream. Kate provides different arbors for you to choose from and provides all of the benches/chairs for your guests. In addition, Handsome Hollow has a stunning "Ruins" area with an earthly and beautiful stone wall backdrop. The last site is the “meadow”. The barn, where your reception will probably be held, is truly remarkable. It is such a large breathable, airy space that easily acts as a chameleon and adopts your wedding theme/decor so naturally. In the barn there are two (adorable) bathrooms (the tile says “you look good” in one of which makes for a cute photo opp), and an upstairs area, along with a kitchen in the back for your caterer. Off of the barn is a beautiful patio area with large lanterns on tables that Kate provides and tons of room for your bar, guest book/gifts, a cigar bar (if you wish!) and anything else your heart desires. They also light the fire pit for you and provide large adirondack chairs. There are also cafe lights strung up off the barn and trees creating the most dreamy night time setting. Last but not least the farmhouse on the property (sleeps up to 6/3 bedrooms with 3 full beds and 2 baths) is so quaint and charming. It is the most perfect atmosphere (it’s something out of a magazine) to get ready in on the day of with you girls and family. We also held our rehearsal dinner here the night before our wedding, on the front porch, and it was just so cozy and magical. Kate lets her bride and groom stay at the farmhouse from Friday-Sunday so you can get everything ready the day before your wedding, have your rehearsal dinner etc. She provides all linens, towels, basic toiletries etc. Side note - my groom and groomsmen stayed right across the street at an Airbnb which was too perfect and convenient!
The team-
Kate and Huck are the dream team. You simply are incapable of having a bad wedding at HH. Kate has an eye for detail and thinks of everything. You are in such good hands!! On the day of your wedding you are her top priority and it shows! Personally, I really, really appreciated her take charge attitude and thoughtfulness - we totally vibed! She was a key player in ensuring a smooth and wonderfully fun wedding! She’s also a boss in that golf cart! Which, by the way, was such a godsend! The golf cart makes it extremely easy to get around the venue in style and it’s just fun! Huck is also amazing. He led our rehearsal dinner and even in my moments of stress he made me laugh and reassured me that on the day of it would be less like herding cats (haha I promise I love my family and friends). He was fantastic at making sure we had everything we needed on Friday! His cool, calm and patient demeanor was very much appreciated with my large and rather loud wedding party. Kate and Huck also provide the best staff on the day of your wedding and the most detailed packet of preferred vendors in the area, recommendations of where to stay, what Airbnb's are the best, tips about the town etc (we highly recommend DJ Jay McElfresh, Jesse Parker from a Note of Elegance for your ceremony music and Main Course Catering). They also coordinate the most lovely tour of Handsome Hollow for your first onsite meeting. They have cookies for you upon arrival and let you take your time asking a million questions. They also have a prop room (with leftover items/decor from previous weddings) that is at your disposal on the day of your wedding. In addition, Kate has the most beautiful vintage table setting options which she will set up for you (alongside your caterer) on the day of your wedding. We used all of her plates and silverware etc. She also provides your table and chairs for your reception and you can rent the most beautiful vintage farm tables if you wish, in addition to an adorable ‘farm style’ sweetheart table. Added bonus - ask to use her “BAR” sign. They are metal light up letters that are so trendy and chic for your bar.
I could go on and on. You get what you pay for with HH and that is a luxury wedding experience in the rolling mountains of the Catskills surrounded by ferns and fireflies. My friends and family will be raving about this for years to come. And so will my husband and I. Thank you HH for giving us the most magical setting to celebrate our love!

Handsome Hollow isn't just a beautiful place, the people that run it are equally as fantastic. The care that Kate and Huck put into this venue as well as your special day is just amazing. From the first visit we knew this was the place we had to get married. What we thought would be a quick 30 min run down of the venue, was a thoughtful conversation over homemade cookies, not only about our hopes for the wedding, but our lives and us as a couple.From conference calls and countless emails, Kate is like having another wedding coordinator. You can run anything by her, from ceremony plans to transportation. Our guests were blown away by the whole day. Handsome Hollow is just a magic. -

Handsome Hollow was the first venue we looked at and after seeing another venue the same day, we quickly hoped on the phone that afternoon and booked Handsome Hollow.
From the moment you step on the property it's obvious that it's breathtaking. The farmhouse and barn are elegant, yet what we loved about it so much was you feel like you're at home. (Brides, I'm not kidding you when I say this farmhouse is unreal. You are going to want to get your picture taken in every room in this house. Every inch is a perfect photo.) We had our ceremony in the back wooded area and it was an absolute dream. If you chose Handsome Hollow, I would highly recommend you use as much of the property as you can. It is just too beautiful not to.
Aside from the property itself, I could not say enough positive things about Kate, Huck and their entire staff. When I say as a bride I did not stress about one thing related to the venue or how things would run that day, I really mean it. Kate has it all under control and it was a huge relief. Working with the Handsome Hollow staff took so much stress out of the planning and the day. Working with vendors that we connected with were really important to us and Kate and Huck are two of the worlds most lovely individuals. It was an absolute pleasure working with them and I could not imagine getting married any place else. If you choose Handsome Hollow for your venue, please invite me to your wedding so I can go back :) -

It is hard to know where to begin when describing our experience with Kate and Huck. From our first visit to the venue when Huck trekked through the snow with us without complaint to make sure we saw every potential ceremony site to the very last conversation and hugs with Kate when she told us not to worry about cleaning up and to go enjoy our post-wedding brunch, we felt so taken care of by them. They were truly teammates in this process--no question was too small, no worry too silly. They helped us problem solve with a kind of calm, determined optimism at every turn.
Kate went above and beyond in coordinating vendors and brainstorming ways for us to pull off a wedding in unpredictable November weather (turns out November is really cold and Kate was really prepared!). Huck was endlessly patient with my repeated requests to look at the many props (table numbers, vintage glass bottles, pretty signs etc) that were available for us and was on hand the day before the wedding with a ladder and batteries helping us set up.
Unsurprisingly, the competence and friendliness we came to value so much in Huck and Kate was evident in their staff as well. I think each and every staff member, many of whom were college-aged, said "congratulations" to me at one point or another; this small gesture made me feel so at home in the space and the next day our guests raved about how lovely the Handsome Hollow team was. I feel proud to have had an event with a venue that has assembled and supported such a fantastic group of young people.
The venue space itself is so beautiful. The farmhouse is the stylish, comfortable home you've always dreamed of but have never been able to pull off. The barn feels both expansive and intimate. Handsome Hollow has a kind of industrial edge that made it feel like a more authentic reflection of our style than many of the other upstate venues we looked at that had a more clear rustic, farm aesthetic that felt unfamiliar to us. The attention to detail in both the house and the barn makes it easy to have a beautiful wedding without a limitless budget for decor--the space speaks for itself.
I could say so much more about our experience at Handsome Hollow. They truly went above and beyond (for an example, when my father got a flat tire two days before the wedding, Kate found multiple options of where he could go to get it fixed) to take care of us. Throughout the process, they reassured us our wedding would be everything we wanted it to be and, thanks to them, it really was. -

Emily Sent on 08/22/2018Handsome Hollow was the single best choice we could have made for our wedding. In fact, I don’t think I’ve recommended anything with as much confidence as I do right now. A Handsome Hollow Wedding will be a sublime experience, without any qualifications. We entered the contract knowing that we were signing up for a storybook location, an idyllic barn, a full package replete with luxury+comfort. What we didn’t realize was how much more we could fall for an already-loved venue after getting to know Kate and Huck.
Kate and Huck are the kind of owners who make you feel like you’re the first couple to have ever stepped foot on their ready-to-serve property. The weekend is fully devoted to you and your needs, and Kate and Huck do this in a way that feels supremely comforting but also discreet. My mom, husband, and I were initially hesitant about opting out of having a wedding planner but Kate and Huck were this to us and so much more. They are friendly, hilarious, and relaxed whilst being notably organized and on-point. I entered the wedding weekend scene with lists up the wazoo. I threw all of those right out the door when I realized just how thorough the Handsome Hollow crew is. They were five steps ahead of anything I could have ever thought about, and I’ve been planning this weekend for a year and a half. It was freeing and allowed our families to just...celebrate.
Throughout the weekend, it was apparent that Kate and Huck were putting in extraordinary amounts of behind-the-scenes work and yet, the only thing my husband and I were presented with was total calm, kindness, and organization. They make sure that your vision WILL happen, even if it’s a decidedly crazy one.
I could go on about the views, the details, the wow factor of the venue. But I think the beauty and intricacies of Handsome Hollow speak for themselves. The people, their lovely staff, the thought and love behind their company- that’s what takes them to a new level in the wedding business. -

Victoria Sent on 08/17/2017Overall our wedding at Handsome Hollow was the most amazing experience we have ever had. In our search for the perfect venue we had four most important aspects that the venue needed: a ceremony site in the woods, outdoor space (we have 7 nephews who like to run around), a reception barn that was big enough to hold our large family, and of course nice bathrooms. Handsome Hollow not only met all those aspects but had more than we could have ever imagined. The ceremony site was magical with the huge ferns and woods all around us, the cocktail hour was in the old ruins with gorgeous rock walls, the reception barn was rustic but had all the amenities of an indoor venue such as super clean and pretty bathrooms and the catering kitchen (which saved us a ton of money in rentals). The outdoor patio was awesome for those guests who like to be part of the party but wanted a quieter spot away from the music, and the bon fire was a great ending to the night. Also the farm house was so perfect for getting ready in and we LOVED just walking back at end of the night to where we were staying (which saved us money because we did not need to have limos or waste time in traveling, so we were able to provide a bus for guests who were staying at a hotel in town) and made planning and getting the day of stuff organized so much easier. Kate, Huck and their band of helpers were extremely helpful, made everything run smoothly, and created a wedding based on exactly what we requested. We wanted to be very involved in our wedding planning and with the help of the staff they were able to make my vision a reality. Not to mention they have an array of unique décor items that can be used to make the venue look even better without having to rent each and every piece (which also saved us money). The owners are a pleasure to work with and clearly care about what they do, and made our wedding extraordinary. Our dream of an ethereal woodsy wedding was more than met by this venue! -

Without exaggeration, I truly feel that we were in the best possible hands with Kate and Huck. The Barn, Grounds, and Farmhouse are astonishing on their own, but Handsome Hollow comes with so much more. Kate, Huck, and their team operate more like a family; fully-equipped with a system in place to tackle any bumps in the road:

Freaking out? Just talk to Kate.
From day one, Kate was communicative and responsive. If you're not already asking the right questions, she knows when to reach out to ensure you're on track. Without hiring a Planner, Kate quickly assumes that natural role and makes sure that every piece falls into place. Ahead of time, she communicates with your necessary vendors about relevant items to ensure that the Big Day—and all days leading up to it—run smoothly.
Speaking of vendors, it's worth mentioning that our caterer quite literally shed tears of joy when we revealed Handsome Hollow's industrial kitchen to her and her staff. As I said, Kate and Huck simply GET IT. They know what they're doing and they're strategically set up for success! Your vendors will thank you, your guests will rave for years to come, and you and your hubby/bride-to-be can relax, enjoy, and rest assured that the day you've put so much blood, sweat, and tears into will go off without a hitch.
