  In the words of Ellie Goulding: “What are you waiting for?”

  My husband and I wanted a hands-on role in planning our wedding, so we weren’t initially inclined to hire a wedding planner. An introduction to Lisa during an open house for vendors at our venue quickly helped us realize: you don’t know what you don’t know. For us, the decision to hire Lisa as our wedding planner became about execution – not replacing our creative and/or romantic vision with hers. Where we wanted a hands-on role, CCBL showed us how to make that happen. And, from start to finish, they made it happen. We are so grateful to CCBL for helping to create a perfect wedding day.
  
  Of the numerous things we could share to inform the decision-making process of couples considering hiring a wedding planner – and specifically, considering hiring Lisa – vendor selection, timeline management, and day-of coordination were our top priorities in making that decision ourselves. Why? The quality of your vendors will determine the quality of your wedding, plain and simple. Timeline management ensures the vendors you’d like to book will still be available, mitigating last-minute panic-planning. Day-of coordination enables you to be as present as possible on your wedding day.
  
  1. VENDOR SELECTION: Vendor selection begins with hiring Lisa. As you should for any vendor you choose to include in your wedding preparations, do your research. Lisa earned a fine arts degree in musical theater from the Boston Conservatory, with a concentration in directing. Lisa is a working artist as much as she’s an event planner. As a consummate professional, she brings a commanding creativity and rigorous attention to detail to the entire wedding-planning process. Your wedding isn’t just a party – it’s a production that Lisa and her team ensure will play out to perfection. She does so by building trust, taking time to understand your personalities and priorities as individuals, first, and then as a couple preparing for marriage. That attention bears out in conversations you’ll have about certain logistical considerations: live band vs. DJ, plated meal vs. buffet, first look or not. These conversations always took into account how we – the couple – wanted to spend the precious little moments of our wedding day. From a lengthy list of vendors she’s curated over the course of her 20+ years in the industry, Lisa matched our creative vision (elevated garden party, seafood-forward menu, etc.) with vendors she trusted from those relationships she’s built. Lisa was present with us as our advocate — at meetings with our caterer, DJ, photographers, florists, cake person, etc. – almost all of whom she had worked with before.
  
  2. TIMELINE MANAGEMENT: We moved and both started new jobs just eleven months before our October wedding. With so much disruption in our daily lives, Lisa ensured that the many deadlines we needed to meet were met, and didn’t hesitate to nudge us when we needed to speed up our decision making. Not all design and vendor decisions have to happen at the same time, but ensuring your options are open means having a checklist and a schedule and sticking to it. Meetings with Lisa provided us the opportunity to ask questions and assess the feasibility of certain design ideas or budget considerations (alas, nix the baby grand piano idea). Lisa was always available, even during exceptionally stressful weeks for her, to help us make those informed decisions on schedule. In fact, Lisa was always ahead of schedule, and we looked forward to receiving updates from her like, “Hi, you two – we’re X months out and you should start thinking about X, Y, Z.” Not only did that timeline help build anticipation to our wedding day, but helped manage stress that cropped up between us and over-eager parents! :)
  
  3. DAY-OF COORDINATION: Words cannot convey how stress-free our wedding day was because of Lisa and the CCBL team. (You had to be there!) Though we interacted with vendors often during the months preceding our wedding, Lisa organized all final calls, correspondence, and logistical considerations in the days/weeks right before the wedding. She met with the families and bridal parties during the rehearsal dinner to set some ground-rules for the following day, which included a brief walk-through about the ‘order of events.’ Her team worked with the maids-of honor and best man to coordinate morning-of details (such texting in the AM to confirm the makeup/hair stylists had arrived and were on schedule). If anything went “wrong” on our wedding day, it was unbeknownst to us.
  
  We did not anticipate “day-of coordination” to be such a notable part of the day, but it made the day what it was: perfect. We met Kelly (from CCBL) upon arrival at our venue. From that moment on, Kelly was there to keep the bride and groom on schedule, from telling us when we’d be needed for photos to telling us when we could have a quiet moment together and more. Of course, we could have a moment alone whenever we wanted – it was our wedding day – but we understood the value of someone else keeping us on schedule. Having Lisa’s team there gave us the freedom to be present with ourselves, each other, our families, and our guests. Kelly even made sure we would get little plates of hors d'oeuvres delivered to us because we chose not to do a first-look, opting instead to take photos during the cocktail hour. What impressed us the most was Kelly’s (and the entire CCBL team’s) willingness to make what we wanted to happen, happen, from the moment we arrived to the moment Kelly closed our limo doors at the end of the night – even if it changed the plan slightly. (With mosquitos emerging and light falling quickly as we wrapped up taking sunset photos, we were heading back inside when we realized we didn’t have any sunset photos with the bride’s veil on. Where was the veil? All the way at the end of the road, up a flight of stairs, in the venue. Though we could tell it wasn’t ideal, Kelly said, “If that’s the photo you want, we’ll make it happen.” She full-on sprinted away and returned with the veil just so we could get that picture.)
  
  None of this even touches upon Lisa’s energy, expertise, and joy she brought to every meeting and interaction. She encouraged us to make choices that were right for us and did everything she could to make it happen. She has an effervescent personality, which we miss having around now that we’re married! We cannot thank Lisa and her entire team enough for everything they did to help us have the wedding of our dreams.

  Perfect Planner

  **HIRE LISA** No, really you have to! I will start this review by saying we hired the wrong event planner for the first 6 months of planning . We started with hiring Pink Olive in Cheshire CT, and that was a very bad decision. Please don’t hire Pink Olive whatever you do, but I highly recommend Creative Concepts by Lisa!!!
  
  We are beyond grateful we got out of our contract at Pink Olive and found Lisa. She’s the one you want to hire to ensure your day is planned meticulously and you’ll have a blast doing it! We had a challenging outdoor venue coupled with a tight timeline with a church that was over an hour away from the reception venue . There were a lot of details that required brainstorming, compromises, and creativity to pull off everything smoothly! Lisa organized many vendors to be coordinated while we were at our church ceremony - she and her team knocked it out of the park! From the start of the process , she asked the right questions, helped us with a vision board, and helped tie together all the loose ends (which were started elsewhere) to create the most magical day ever! Not only is Lisa professional and talented …. She is so fun to work with! Every time we would zoom or talk - I would laugh. What bride doesn’t need that ?? The day was perfect and we have Lisa to thank for this ! We adore her and you will too!!

  Without Lisa and the team, our wedding day would not have run as smoothly and I would absolutely not have been able to enjoy the event. Chelsea took care of all of our bridal party needs, and Ann and Lisa handled the set up, ceremony, reception, and clean up like true professionals. The timeline was impeccable and every moment was orchestrated to perfection. If you’re looking for a team that cares about you, your guests, your happiness, and works their butts off, this is it! Mother of the bride’s quote, “This was the best day of my life.” As the bride, I wholeheartedly agree. I got to marry my best friend, with the support of the best wedding team in the business.

  We recently had the total pleasure of working with Lisa, Traci, Chrissy and Kelly as my daughter's wedding planners. They made our special day an unforgettable experience. From the moment we met them, they exuded professionalism and expertise, immediately putting us at ease. I cannot stress enough how much their services contributed to making our wedding planning journey stress-free and enjoyable.

  Could not have done this without them!

  Lisa and her team were instrumental in putting together our wedding day. Our al la carte style wedding had so many moving pieces and CCBL sewed them together seamlessly to truly create a magical day. We honestly could not have pulled it off without them. Lisa and Traci were responsive and professional and collaborated with us on all decisions which helped to make the build up to our wedding as stress free as possible. The wedding day was incredibly organized and the day of team was fantastic in helping our event run smooth.   I hired Lisa to plan my 60th Birthday Bash at the New Haven Lawn Club. Lisa was simply amazing and doesn't miss a trick. She is super organized and remembers every single detail. She always has a positive attitude and always has you laughing and enjoying the process. And she works her tail off at the event. She is never sitting down or looking at her phone. She is hustling.

  Now that the greatest wedding of all time, dated 06/01/23, has come and gone, it is imperative that I tell you about the team behind the scenes. From the time we reached out to Lisa in 2020 up until the day of the wedding, she had made my husband and I priority. She responded in a timely manner and always kept it professional. It was always what WE wanted. Of course she’d give her expert advice, however, she made sure to get our opinions on every aspect of the planning process. Just like everything else in life, we had a budget for our special day. There were a few vendors that my husband and I were looking into who had amazing work but they were definitely outside of our budget. Lisa had a list of preferred vendors whose prices were very reasonable and we decided to contract with them. Each preferred vendor took time to get to know us and took our likes and dislikes into consideration and we loved that about them.   It feels almost impossible to put into words just how amazing Lisa is. Our wedding had multiple vendors, different locations, and a lot of moving parts and Lisa handled it all flawlessly. Not only did she help to see our vision, craft a plan to bring it to life, and surpass our every expectation. Our most special day was so far beyond our wildest dreams, and Lisa's execution of the day and leadership was unmatched. We started the planning process months out. Lisa helped us find our dream venue - a spot we never would have found on our own. She ensured each and every vendor was on board with our hopes and vision for the day. She connected and triple-checked bookings and reservations and made sure the day went on without a hitch. Lisa and her team took the pressure off of us (and our loved ones) so that we could be in the moment and enjoy the night! Our guests and our family most importantly were so impressed with the process. I also had to give a lot of love to Kelly, from Lisa's team, who was by our side the entire day.   This is the easiest, most heartfelt, and important review I have ever written. If I am honest, I started writing this review before my wedding because of how important Lisa was to me and I didn't want to miss a thing. My wedding was Saturday, September 10th and the first thing I thought about the morning after my wedding was Lisa and the team she brought to my day and how they made everything look so seamless.
  
  Outside of saying yes to my husband, Lisa is the best decision I have ever made and I don't say that lightly. Despite getting pushback on hiring a planner, the minute I met Lisa, I knew I needed her. She’s a complete powerhouse.
  
  I wanted someone showing up that day focused on my husband and I. The venue has priorities, catering has priorities, our families have priorities and I wanted someone in my corner covering my tracks if I dropped balls, and a sounding board as I navigated a once in a lifetime event.   I'm not an event planner, have never planned anything at this scale, and was frankly way outside my element. With both my husband and I working full time and a venue that required us to bring in everything that day, it would have been impossible to manage every detail such as "how much electricity does each vendor require" or "flow of the day" while somehow remaining excited about the whole reason for it all, that we have found the person we want to spend the rest of our life with. I can see how couples lose joy in the process. Enter Lisa, who leds with her calming presence and empathy, while acting as your biggest advocate and lead blocker.
  
  Separately, we had an especially difficult vendor who brought me to tears on multiple occasions and could have derailed our entire event. If I had been in this alone, I would have been a basket case. Lisa would show up to any adversity in our process with a proactive assess, and say "Don't worry, I got this" and she did. She showed up direct, professional, and continued to tell us "you two are my priority, I don't care about anyone or anything else". To hear that during such a stressful time when you are getting pulled into a million and one different directions, is invaluable.
  
  I have tears in my eyes writing this review and thinking about how much comfort, knowledge, solace, support, and invaluable expertise Lisa provided me. I don't know what my day or mental state would have been like without her and thank my lucky stars I had her by my side.
  
  If you're reading this and considering hiring Lisa and a planner, the best thing you can do for yourself and your event is hire Lisa & her team. Not only is she spectacular at her craft but truly does care about you. You'll feel it on your first call with her and it will carry through the process.   This is the easiest, most heartfelt, and important review I have ever written. If I am honest, I started writing this review before my wedding because of how important Lisa was to me and I didn't want to miss a thing. My wedding was Saturday, September 10th and the first thing I thought about the morning after my wedding was Lisa and the team she brought to my day and how they made everything look so seamless.
  
  Outside of saying yes to my husband, Lisa is the best decision I have ever made and I don't say that lightly. Despite getting pushback on hiring a planner, the minute I met Lisa, I knew I needed her. She’s a complete powerhouse.
  
  I wanted someone showing up that day focused on my husband and I. The venue has priorities, catering has priorities, our families have priorities and I wanted someone in my corner covering my tracks if I dropped balls, and a sounding board as I navigated a once in a lifetime event. That’s scratching the surface of what I got with Lisa. She is all I could have dreamed of plus a million more things! DON'T THINK, JUST BOOK LISA!
  
  Lisa is a masterclass on professionalism, kindness, organization, crisis management, and finesse. She keeps it real, highlights things that are important, and things that you can pass on all along with a nonchalant and humorous approach. Her value came through immediately and increased every time I spoke with her. She was available for questions, guided me in making decisions, and served as an invaluable sounding board as issues arose.   CCBL helped plan our July 2022 wedding at Eolia Mansion and Lisa was amazing to work with! Lisa’s confidence and bubbly/energetic personality made me feel immediately comfortable with her.
  
  She has been in the business for awhile and has a ton of relationships with vendors. If you tell her what your vision is, she will make it come true…..from the most perfect band or DJ, to the most gorgeous and out of control flowers, to the tiny little décor details and flow of the day. I showed Lisa 1 picture and she made it a reality. She came up with the most thoughtful ideas – instead of escort cards we used bud vases, with name tags, to guide guests to their seats. And for table décor/favors Lisa suggested marble coasters and asked our calligrapher to write guest names on each.
  
  SO many of our family and friends approached us and said that every little detail of the day was perfectly executed. Lisa and her team were so easy to communicate with and extremely responsive. HIGHLY recommend!!

  Best decision we made regarding our wedding!

  If there could be a sixth star we would give it Lisa and her team it! We loved every interaction we had with Creative Concepts by Lisa! I was hesitant about needing a wedding planner, and after hiring them.... I would never not recommend a wedding planner. Their team took our wedding to the next level and made my life so much easier. Not only is the team great at their job, they are all amazing humans! They are so nice, caring, and genuinely about you as a person. The BEST thing we did for our wedding, was hire Creative Concepts by Lisa.   Perfect Assist to ExtraOrdinary Wedding!

  Lisa and her team did a fantastic job at our Jewish-Korean wedding. She’s Not only very familiar with Jewish wedding traditions that the bride wasn’t familiar with, but also eager to learn more about Korean culture. When we decided to wear the traditional Korean ‘Han Bok’ for the wedding attire, she FaceTimed us multiple times to go over the color, pattern, and overall design that works well with the wedding theme with the hanbok designer. She suggested the perfect venue with amazing prices and conditions.   Then COVID hit. Even though we could no longer have as large a gathering as we planned, Lisa resurrected our wedding and made it even better than before. She worked to find us a different caterer and bakery that were more appropriate for our new, small setting and stayed in constant contact with our venue about our changing plans.
  
  What Lisa created for us was the most special, intimate, and thoughtful wedding I have ever attended--even though I admit I'm biased! In a year when it seems like just about everything is going wrong, Lisa created a day for us and our families where no worries or concerns existed and nothing else mattered in the world. My wife described it the best when she called the wedding a dream come true. We will remember how Lisa made us feel for the rest of our lives.

  When the pandemic first hit, Luke and I had been engaged for about two months and I had most of the wedding planned... or so I thought. We tried to keep our plans for as long as we could, but then the restrictions started happening and it just didn't make sense.
  
  It was about a month until the wedding and Maine had made a new mandate that only 50 people were allowed to gather at outdoor events but we had over 150 invited, so we had to make the decision to basically flip the whole wedding upside down in order to figure out how to make it feel right again. We changed the location to a small place in Connecticut so that planning a last minute wedding would be easier to do with my mom living not five minutes from the location.
  It was about two weeks out and we still didn't have a caterer, photographer, videographer, etc. ... but we had the place. That is when we called up Lisa in a panic and her response was something like, "I will take care of this. Give me 10 minutes and I will call you back."
  She called us back in what felt like 1 minute and she had everything planned! She had a photographer, videographer, food, tent, everything!! It was a miracle! She took such good care of us from that moment on!
  When we met Lisa at the rehearsal dinner, it instantly felt like she was family the way that she took care of us.
  She was our shield when it came to overjoyed guests that wanted to hug us... in the middle of a pandemic I might add. She even sprayed me head to toe with bug spray because she knew that sunset in Connecticut meant bad news when it came to bugs!
  She checked in with us periodically throughout the night and if there were problems, we didn't hear about any of them until our friends were laughing about them the next day! Everything was absolutely perfect and none of it would have been made possible if it were not for Lisa and her crew!
  We are eternally grateful for Lisa and all that she did to make our wedding even better than our plan a!
