Wonderful experience at a charming Vermont Inn

The Colonel Williams Inn was the loveliest venue we could have imagined for our wedding, and Victoria and Brian helped it go off without a hitch! They were extremely responsive to our inquiries and flexible about our planning process, and on the day of they worked so hard to make everything go just right! They also brought in a great team to run the show. Celena was a terrific day-of coordinator: herding cats, soothing nerves, and letting us relax and enjoy the big day. Finally, their prices were quite reasonable, and they helped us construct a package that worked well for us and our budget.

The property itself is terrific-- the grounds and the inn are beautiful, with the barn just the perfect mix of rustic and functional. We were lucky enough to have our wedding on a warm day in late September, and the setting, with the arbor on a green lawn sloping down to a pond, with the first hints of color in the forest behind us, was truly magical!

We would recommend the Colonel Williams Inn to anyone looking for some simple Vermont charm, brought to you by two cheerful Texans who make a mean breakfast taco and throw a heck of a party. 10/10, would get married there again!!!

My daughter was married yesterday and we held her wedding reception at the Colonial Williams Inn. It was beautiful. We started with cocktails and appetizers on the beautiful lawn over looking the pond in the front of the inn. There were gorgeous old trees for picture taking and the bride and groom were having pictures but still felt like they were at the reception! The grounds were beautifully cared for and we felt at home and relaxed there. For the lunch we moved into the barn which is a historic property that we were able to decorate to our taste to complement the structure and history of the building. John and Nancie allowed us to decorate and have access to the barn from Thursday which made planning and coordination so much easier than having one day to decorate! The dance floor was nice and big and we had 150 people attend and there was plenty of dancing. We had the cake cutting on an upper level so that everyone could see that special moment. John's staff managed the bar beautifully and they served excellent beer and wine selections. Nancie and John made so many helpful suggestions that we feel their assistance made the event a success! We have had a lot of people comment on what a beautiful venue it was and how much they relaxed and enjoyed the venue. Before we left I told Nancie do not be surprised if we hold all future family events here. Thank you John and Nancie- you made this event a wonderful family event that we will be talking about for years!

I had the most wonderful wedding at Colonel Williams Inn! They went above and beyond for me and our family and friends.

Victoria was amazing and was not only a wonderful host, but also acted as my wedding coordinator/planner. They have an awesome package deal where flowers, cake, decor, food, etc are all included which makes everything so much easier and less stressful. They have a beautiful venue and Inn, and go above and beyond to make your day so special for you! I had zero stress on my wedding day and everything went so smoothly. I can't say enough good things... Thank you!!!

My fiance and I are thrilled about how are wedding turned out at the Colonel Williams Inn. It was in a very beautiful setting in a pretty old colonial inn. We took over the entire inn with our wedding party and family from out of town for the weekend. Our ceremony was on the front lawn of the inn and our reception was held in an old, renovated barn on the property. Everyone was very happy with the inn's surroundings and accomodations. Nancie, one of the inn's owners, was great to work with and was very professional. Her husband, John, is a bit of a character - he is quite taken with the history of the inn. Although he may not be quite as amicable as Nancie, he definitely worked hard to make the wedding an overall success. The food was good (a buffet with waitstaff) and the wedding schedule flowed along nicely with Nancie's guidance. The really amazing part was the value for the cost we received by having at the Colonel Williams. We couldn't have asked for a more perfect day and all within a reasonable budget! We had many compliments from guests about our wedding being the best wedding they had attended in a long, long time.

If you're looking for a beautiful setting for a rustic wedding but so-so customer service then the Colonel Williams Inn is your venue. We knew we wanted a barn reception so when we found the barn at the Colonel Williams Inn we were blown away. The inn is set up on a beautiful landscape and it was perfect for our fall wedding. All of our guests loved the scenery and the barn and for the price you really can't beat it. We had read the reviews on the Inn and saw that customer service was not really their forte so we went into it knowing there would be some issues. The rooms are quaint and adorable and we were happy with them. Nancie is so nice and helpful and really makes sure you know all of the details for your day. John has his quirks but we found him to respond very quickly to our emails, etc. We had read about the included breakfasts and how they left something to be desired. We found that the food tasted great but everyone was right when they said your portions were small (yes you only get one piece of bacon) and they used our leftover potatoes that we paid for at the reception to make home fries the next morning and told us we could not have toast if we had the home fries. They also were rude to one of our guests that paid a quite hefty tab at the bar for shots and filled a shot glass up with the contents of the bottom of a beer and said "buy fourteen, fifteenths on us" in a condescending tone. We had paid $750 to block off the rooms and were told we would have the inn all to ourselves but that didn't stop john from doing a tour to a couple WHILE WE WERE SETTING UP during our special weekend so we were really upset by that. We paid 21% gratuity on our open bar but they still had tip jars out which we found was extremely rude and unnecessary. And some of the servers at our buffet style table were rude to some of my family regarding getting more of a helping of one of the dishes because she couldn't eat the other one. Other than those few issues it was perfect.
