  Wonderful photographer and person

  We hired Clarence for our wedding lunch reception at a small-mid-size restaurant in NYC. After our initial calls to discuss, we immediately felt relief because we knew he'd be a great and easygoing photographer to work with. It also helped that he had scouted out the venue and surroundings in advance of the day.
  
  When we arrived at the venue on the big day, he had already befriended all of our close friends and family who had already arrived for setup. Things only got better from there, as he quickly put both of us at ease during our shoot in the city and back inside the venue once everyone had arrived. He had the same effect on all of our guests, of all ages, and we were actually a little sad when he went home.
  
  Anyway ... Clarence happens to be a great photographer in addition to a fun person to work with. We were very pleased with the photos he sent, which were a mix of couple and family portraiture as well as candid party shots. He's obviously a very seasoned photographer who is used to juggling cameras, people, environmental situations, and ideas in his head without showing any of that effort in the moment. We highly recommend him!

  Incredible Experience

  Clarence immediately felt like our friend, not our wedding photographer. From our engagement photos to our wedding, we were so at ease working with Clarence and couldn't have asked for a better experience. He really knows how to capture emotion and it shows in all of our photos. Clarence went above and beyond our expectations - he spent hours with us for our engagement session, and he was with us on our wedding day right up until the very end of the night. Our wedding coordinator said he was the hardest working photographer she's ever seen - and I think that speaks volumes. Everything is personal with Clarence - all the way down to Facetiming us when we received our photos. You can tell he loves what he does, and it shows in his photos. We feel so lucky to have worked with him.

  Clarence is the best!

  We were SO lucky to have Clarence as our wedding photographer! Clarence truly cares about capturing your wedding and it shows in his photos and the way he works. His fun and energetic personality makes everyone feel at ease. We are not super comfortable in front of the camera, but Clarence made our engagement shoot feel like we were just hanging out with him. At our rehearsal dinner, our wedding party even thought he was just one of our friends until he pulled out his camera! Not only was shooting with him so much fun, but the resulting photos were incredible. What stands out about his photography style is that he's able to capture the emotions of how our day felt. When we look at our photos, we can relive our memories and cherish them for years. He also went out of his way to scout out the locations with the best light ahead of time, taking into account details such as how we wanted greenery in our first look. To top it off, he delivered our final album with a beautiful boxed set of printed photos that were absolutely breathtaking. We completely trust his eye for photography and can't recommend him enough. We've already had several friends ask about our photographer after seeing our pictures. You can't go wrong with booking Clarence!!

We had first hired him for our wedding and rehearsal dinner, and then had asked him for recommendations for a photographer in another area four hours away (where my partner's family wanted to also do a ceremony near home), Clarence instead said that he would like to be our photographer for that event and didn't mind making the 4 hour trip from NYC.
  His ability to connect with both our families before the first event was remarkable, and he continued to charm everyone throughout. Months after the wedding, my family still fondly asks about Clarence, a testament to the lasting impression he made.
  Navigating a wedding can be overwhelming, but hiring Clarence proved to be our best decision. He brought a refreshing, happy, and calm demeanor to the entire process.
  And finally the pictures themselves were breathtaking, Clarence carefully considered our preferences, avoiding black and white photos and capturing candid family moments. His thoughtful approach and impeccable execution left us thrilled, and we wholeheartedly recommend him.

  Best experience EVER

  Clarence is the best photographer ever!!! He is extremely passionate about his work! Both my husband and I are photo-shy, but Clarence really helps make you forget you’re even taking photos! He’s really personable and made our engagement photo shoot so fun and effortless! Picking a photographer for our wedding was so important because photos is what we’ll go back to to remember the day. I’m so grateful that we had Clarence be part of our special day and can’t thank him enough for the memories he has given us! He has really made us feel special on our wedding day and was so professional throughout the whole experience! He’s really patient and sits down with you to really understand what’s important to you and if there’s any detail photos you want.   Amazing Person and Photographer

  When my husband and I looked at Clarence's photos on his Instagram page, we knew right away that we wanted to work with him. His photos are absolutely beautiful. Not only is he talented, but he is also such a pleasure to work with. He was by my side the entire day and made me feel so relaxed even though I was not used to being in front of a camera. He also made everything so fun. I cannot recommend him enough and would love to work with him again!

  The best photographer…ever!

  Clarence is seriously one of the best photographers you could have to shoot your wedding. Both my wife and I are extremely particular when it comes to photos, but when we came across Clarence’s portfolio, we instantly fell in love with his work. We were amazed at the great shots he was able to take of all of the couples he has worked with. He’s personable, friendly, and extremely accommodating. As someone who is pretty camera-shy, he did a wonderful job making it easy to be in front of one. We highly recommend him if you’re looking for a photographer!

  The best part of our wedding

  My husband and I tell everyone we know that hiring Clarence was the best decision we made in planning our wedding!
  
  Choosing a wedding photographer is a super important decision—not only because the photos are how you’ll remember the day, but because your photographer is a huge part of your wedding day experience and someone that you’ll spend a lot of time with. This was even more true for us, as we were planning a tiny COVID-friendly wedding with only 20 guests.
  
  When we first met Clarence for our engagement photos, we already knew we loved his photography, but we were so happy to find that we instantly hit it off with him–he is incredibly warm and friendly and we felt comfortable with him right away. At every step in planning, Clarence was helpful, responsive, and thoughtful (all while juggling the craziest wedding season ever). And when our wedding day rolled around, Clarence went above and beyond. He arrived early and stayed late, had an incredible eye for lighting, set up photo opportunities beautifully and naturally, and captured every detail while also keeping things light, fun, and natural. He captured some great candids when the hotel fire alarm got pulled while we were getting ready, and he even drove us from our first look to the ceremony. We were thrilled to have him at our wedding and he was a welcome addition at our dinner table at the reception with our guests! The next day, everyone asked how we knew Clarence–they just assumed that we must have been friends with him from college. I can’t think of any higher praise than that.
  
  Clarence captured our simple, joyful wedding perfectly. We are so grateful and feel so lucky to have had him at our wedding. You’re the best, Clarence!

  Very supportive and fun. Great pictures as well!

  We are very glad to have Clarence as our photographer. Not only was he good at taking pictures but he was such a great person to have with us on our wedding day when the pressure was on. Very fun and supportive. He is also very creative with his background and uses his surroundings and lighting in a fantastic perspective that we would not have imagined. Would highly recommend Clarence as your photographer!

  We are very glad to have Clarence as our photographer. Not only was he good at taking pictures but he was such a great person to have with us on our wedding day when the pressure was on.   This guy is the best!

  Clarence was and is a great photographer and we are so glad to have had him shoot us for our engagement and wedding! He is accommodating and very cordial; we felt really comfortable with him and it almost feels like we've made a friend! He's very attentive to our ideas but really we leaned on his expertise to frame up and pose for photos. Don't think twice, this is the guy to shoot you for your Engagement shoot, wedding, or both!

  Stunning engagement & wedding photos!

  Finding a photographer whose photographs are beautiful and who you as a couple are comfortable working with is so important for your wedding day. My husband and I are a bit camera shy and while we of course wanted photographs of our wedding, we were nervous about what it would be like to be followed around all day by a photographer. Clarence is so genuine, honest, kind, and easy to work with that he immediately put us at ease. He truly wants you to have the best photos possible. He patiently answered all our questions (including a lot of technical questions about his equipment and how he stores and backs up photos). Clarence did an engagement session with us in the East Village of NYC and went around to all our favorite spots. He was great at capturing both shots on the go as well as gently cueing us on poses (something we thought would be awkward but was not with Clarence). It was great to do an engagement session because then on the day of the wedding, we already knew each other well. Everything was seamless - he was so excited that it was snowing and captured so many beautiful outdoor snowy photos! I can’t wait for my sister to plan a wedding so that we can work with Clarence again!!!

  A few years ago, I was a bridesmaid at a wedding that Clarence shot – the photos were amazing and working with Clarence was great. He had an ability to put people at ease in front of the camera, and I knew I wanted to book him as my wedding photographer whenever I got my married.
  
  As soon as I got engaged, Clarence was the first wedding vendor I reached out to. Clarence did both our engagement shoot and our wedding, and we can't recommend him enough. We were worried about being uncomfortable in front of the camera, but Clarence helped us relax and it felt like we were hanging out with a friend the entire time. It was super easy working with him, getting to know him, and having fun. He's super down-to-earth and easy to talk to.
  
  Clarence went above and beyond, arriving earlier than expected on our wedding and staying until the very end. He even lent the ladies a special light for makeup in the morning to make sure our makeup looked great in natural light! Clarence has such a creative eye – he hadn't been to our venue before, but he could quickly formulate the shots, and the photographs are stunning. The light is so natural, and he captured so many great candid moments at our wedding.

  Versatile, kind, professional, and SO TALENTED

  We hired Clarence to shoot multiple wedding-related events: (1) a traditional Chinese dinner reception; (2) a multi-day wedding weekend at a remote summer camp (in and outdoor - with changing weather conditions). His flexibility and willingness to work with us across multiple locations and days was great during the planning process. During the events themselves, Clarence was positive, kind, and accommodating of people requesting photos, small changes to the schedule, etc. He stayed relaxed and encouraging, even when the weather turned cold and cloudy.
  
  In terms of the photo quality, we gave Clarence a tall order: to capture formal & casual portrait shots (as a couple and with family/friends), candids during the outdoor ceremony & indoor reception (toasts, dancing, etc), and outdoor action/sport shots (for flag football and various water sports). He delivered in all three categories - his composition and timing resulted in crisp and beautiful photos; he made us (and our friends) look like professional football players on the one hand and supermodels on the other. We'd recommend him in a heartbeat.

During the events themselves, Clarence was positive, kind, and accommodating of people requesting photos, small changes to the schedule, etc. He stayed relaxed and encouraging, even when the weather turned cold and cloudy.
  
  In terms of the photo quality, we gave Clarence a tall order: to capture formal & casual portrait shots (as a couple and with family/friends), candids during the outdoor ceremony & indoor reception (toasts, dancing, etc), and outdoor action/sport shots (for flag football and various water sports). He delivered in all three categories - his composition and timing resulted in crisp and beautiful photos; he made us (and our friends) look like professional football players on the one hand and supermodels on the other. We'd recommend him in a heartbeat.

  Wonderful Wedding Photographer

  Clarence was one of the most genuine people we've met. During the midst of finding vendors, it was super hectic but Clarence was the one vendor we knew we had to have.   Phenomenal experience with this guy

  Clarence shot our city hall wedding in NYC and at several locations after our short but sweet ceremony. We met in person once before our big day, and we showed some examples of the mood we were aiming for that day: relaxed, authentic and a little bit of whimsy-- Clarence knocked it out of the park, capturing us and our families in the concrete jungle we call home. He caught us in sweet tearful moments in City Hall on a misty day, Wes-Andersen-like shots in our favorite park & bar in the Lower East Side, intimate & creative compositions in the glamorous NoMad hotel and tied the bow on our special day by capturing a romantic reception in a small restaurant. We couldn't be happier with Clarence's work and service and wholeheartedly recommend him to any couple anywhere. Thank you Clarence!!

  Clarence did our wedding and engagement photos. Clarence was very easy to work with. He is fun, energetic and easy going. He made us laugh and was great at helping us relax in front of the camera. He is patient and lets us have our moments while he captures them. If you don't have any photo ideas, he will lead you through it and makes your life easy! Our photos came out beautiful!

  Clarence was a pleasure to work with, we had lots of fun, he made us feel relaxed and comfortable in front of the camera and he was discreet whilst also being authoritative when he needed to be. The time leading up to our wedding was already stressful enough but Clarence made it a seamless and smooth experience for us during this time. His understanding of what we wanted was very intuitive. During the wedding, Clarence was energetic, confident and a welcome relief from the hustle and bustle of the day itself. He had no issue pulling us to one side to get shots when he could see light conditions were at their best. We both really enjoyed his company and it was a pleasure to have him around.   Clarence was by far one of our vendor rock stars. From the moment we saw Clarence's work we knew that we wanted him to be part of our day. He is phenomenal to work with and made us feel so comfortable even though we're not camera people- during our engagement shoot it honestly just felt like we were hanging out with a friend (full disclosure: we did drag him to our favorite bar for our e-shoot so maybe that was it?). During our wedding he was a calming, familiar presence that made my then-fiance and I feel so much better. From the beginning Clarence was a joy to work with; he took the time to get to know us and really helped to make our photos natural with a beautiful artistic touch. I cannot say enough good things about working with him; he was always extremely responsive, proactive, flexible and professional. Clarence was able to beautifully capture all of the precious moments of our wedding day; he truly went above and beyond to make sure we have stunning photos of our guests too.   Picking a photographer was a source of anxiety for me before the wedding. The photography of the event was an important aspect for me, and I looked through a lot of photographers' portfolios before choosing one. In the end, my husband and I are so glad we decided to go with Clarence for our engagement and wedding photos. The photos came out beautifully. He's got a great eye for picking out locations, the right angles, and figuring out the perfect amount of lighting (an absolute must in every good photographer). He's very easy to work with and met with us before our engagement shoot and wedding to discuss what we were looking for. Before our wedding Clarence had scoped out our venue so he had an idea of where to shoot. And on our wedding day I'm so grateful that he was there to guide us - making sure he got all the photos we wanted before the ceremony, grabbing us to get some sunset shots before it was dark, and even sticking around after the reception so we got some night shots in the garden. (He was actually the last person to leave the wedding.) Not only is he a very talented photographer, he also goes out of his way to make sure your day goes smoothly. I seriously can't recommend him enough for any photography services you need.

  Clarence was one of our wedding MVPs!!! Clarence has been such a joy to work with from our initial consultation and he is IMMENSELY talented as a photographer. Clarence's wedding portfolios are a show stopper and you can easily see why he's booked almost every weekend for weddings! Clarence met with us a few months before our wedding and heard our vision and shared some suggestions with us. Our theme was a rustic farm wedding in Maryland and he had worked at the venue before, which was our deciding factor. Clarence was so accommodating and went out of his way to make sure we felt comfortable with the photography options being presented to us. Clarence met with us again a week before our wedding and reviewed our shot list. On the day of the wedding, Clarence was on time and brought an assistant, free of charge to us. They were patient with us and worked on the detail shots first (shoes, belt, wedding programs, etc.) while my fiancee was getting ready. He went and spent time with the ladies as they were prepping and then came and spent time with the gents. Clarence arranged our 1st look and every one said it looked so beautiful. He had such creative ideas to capture tasteful moments of us before our wedding. During our reception, Clarence and his assistant kept moving around to capture different angles. They worked AMAZINGLY with our videographer - it was such a pleasure to watch them at work. Clarence took charge in arranging our family shots and made sure to execute our shot list. During the reception, Clarence even got up on chairs to capture different angles and it was AMAZING to see him so active and engaged on our wedding day. Clarence stayed until the very end (10 hours!) and made sure not to miss a single important shot. WOW is all I can say! Clarence exceeded our expectations and I'm so appreciative of how he made us feel taken care of. I STRONGLY recommend Clarence Chan Photography to future married couples!!!
