Chesapeake Beach Resort is the perfect place to have a wedding ceremony. Very romantic, very clean and neat, and the tiki hut just adds that extra special touch. The resort is a peaceful and beautiful place to relax and unwind. In addition, it is an excellent location for a lovely waterfront wedding ceremony! The resort is a peaceful and beautiful place to relax and unwind. In addition, it is an excellent location for a lovely waterfront wedding ceremony! -

Our wedding could not have been more perfect! Chesapeake made for such an amazing backdrop in all of our wedding photos. Thad was so easy to work with, he had tons of suggestions for other vendors, and was always quick to respond to emails. The price of having your wedding at Chesapeake is also very low (I looked at a few other places & they by far had a lower rate to use the property) I couldn't be happier with how the day turned out.Our wedding could not have been more perfect! This location is BEAUTIFUL for a beach wedding. The site fee is reasonable, but it doesn't include any food or anything (which I liked because I could bring it whatever I wanted). The staff is super friendly and the rooms are newly updated. The only I didn't like was having to shut the music off at 10.This location is BEAUTIFUL for a beach wedding. We liked the Chesapeake because it was large enough to hold all of our friends and family, which really simplified our wedding planning. We coordinated all of our vendors through Debbie from Caribbean Catering and initially our day went so smoothly. Everyone was having a great time, it turned out beautiful. Unfortunately, we ran into problems with the resort later in the evening. In the contract we signed with the Chesapeake, the only time restriction was the 11 pm Islamorada noise ordinance. We had booked our band to play until 11 pm, stocked the bar & hired bartenders to work until 11 pm. At 10 pm we were told by the hotel we needed to shut down. We were given no warning and no explanation, our band had played for 45 minutes, taken a set break and returned to play for about 15-30 minutes before they were told to stop. My husband ended up in the front office arguing with the night staff instead of enjoying our wedding. The managers were off for the night and no one could get in touch with them, so there was no one there to help us. Our guests began to disperse, that had pretty much ended our wedding. We moved those who were still up to the Tiki Hut where the band was going to play acoustic while Debbie kept the bar going, but security shut us down AGAIN. Our remaining guests helped us carry what was left of the bar out to the beach peninsula, and the band played acoustic out on the beach for a few hours. Luckily, we ended up with good memories of our acoustic session, but the Chesapeake is not on our list of favorite places anymore. They violated their contract, didn't give us warning of their new noise policies, and wasted a lot of our money we had spent on the band and bar. We weren't loud or obnoxious, it was just a normal wedding with a live band. The 2 previous nights people had stayed up later on the main beach than our actual wedding night. The wedding was beautiful, but I would be very careful when it comes to the contract. Ending a wedding at 10 pm is one thing, having your wedding shut down an hour earlier than what's in your contract - that's not good.We liked the Chesapeake because it was large enough to hold all of our friends and family, which really simplified our wedding planning.
