  Magic in Every Shot: Our Wedding Photographer's Phenomenal Work

  We were fortunate enough to have Shaun as our wedding photographer, and we simply cannot find enough words to express our gratitude for the truly exceptional experience he provided us with.
  
  Throug the wedding planning process, Shaun was a source of support and guidance and he took the time to get to know us as a couple, our personalities, and our vision for the day. On the wedding day itself, he was a calming presence and made everyone comfortable amidst the whirlwind of emotions and activity. He was capturing not just the events but also the emotions, the laughter, the tears, and the love that filled the air. His ability to blend into the background and capture candid moments was truly remarkable.
  
  The final result – the photographs – were beyond our wildest dreams. Every image was a work of art, a testament to Shaun's incredible talent and dedication to his craft. The way he played with light, shadows, and colors in each shot was nothing short of magical. Looking through the photos felt like reliving the day, and the depth of emotion they conveyed left us in awe.

  Excellent choice

  We chose 88 Love Stories after they photographed a friend's wedding. Shaun is so easy-going and great to work with, especially in the early planning stages. He was able to guide us and help shape our day because of his vast experience in the industry. He and his team made our big day so fun and took a lot of stress away. Very professional, very organized. Highly recommend!

  Can my husband and I have a second wedding so we can have James again as our photographer?! He was absolutely amazing to work with! My husband was skeptical about "staged" photos, but from the second he met James during engagement pictures, he was put to ease. James was so fun to work with from our first call to engagement photos to the wedding. Then of course there are the pictures, which are incredible. All of the pictures are (quickly) posted for you to access and share the link to anyone you'd like with no watermark (this is important to mention as some of my friends were surprised by this from the photographers they used). We picked the album package and we were blown away by the quality and well it turned out. It's easy to tell the pride and enjoyment James takes from his work and I couldn't recommend any vendor more highly. He made our wedding so special and something we'll be able to remember for forever.

  The BEST Photographer!

  We hired 88 Love Stories for our wedding and working with them was one of the best decisions we could have made! Shaun has such a calming presence and is essentially the big brother you never knew you needed. We experienced many unfortunate events during our engagement session and wedding that Shaun had the pleasure of being a part of - yet he remained composed, adaptable, and was quick to help resolve whatever issue was before us. He truly surpassed his photographer duties. I honestly don't know what we would have done without him and his ability to tackle anything. Just one example: during the reception I realized I had somehow lost a very special diamond bracelet that was my grandmothers and everyone was panicking that we would never find it at an outdoor venue. Shaun ended up finding it in no time at all. I'm pretty sure he may have been Superman in another life. He also got our pictures back to us in less than a month and we are absolutely blown away with how he captured everything. We aren't very comfortable being in front of a camera, but Shaun was able to help coach us and make it an enjoyable experience which is evident in our album. We are so happy with our choice to work with 88 Love Stories and cannot thank Shaun enough for everything he has done for us!

  I really cannot say enough good things about our experiences working with Shaun and 88 Love Stories. He was kind, professional, fun, always on top of everything, and worked seamlessly into the whole wedding day. We could not have been happier with the final products too! Shaun was personable and felt like he was a buddy from the moment we met him. His expertise, professional knowledge, and experince resulted in sparkling photoraphs that so wonderfully capture our special day! Our wedding was a bicultural ceremony and Shaun captured all the events in a supportive, flexible, and organized manner. He far exceeded all of our expectations and all the people can't stop talking about our photos of our wedding that we will cherish for a lifetime. You have one wedding, and I can think of better person to entrust the one shot of capturing your special day to then Shaun!

  Such a joy!

  We haven't gotten our photos but I will update once we do! We just had our wedding on Saturday, but Shaun was AMAZING to work with and such an organized and calm presence in our wedding! We loved loved loved his energy and he was very easy to work with. I cannot wait to see the pictures and will update then but wanted to write something today :)

  88 Loves Stories is fantastic!

  Shaun and the whole 88 Love Stories team were fantastic to work with. They were so kind, responsive, and thorough as we planned our wedding. And so flexible with our plans as we navigated COVID. They were a treat to work with on our wedding day and engagement shoot. Cannot recommend Shaun and the 88 team enough!

  Fantastic Photographer

  Shaun from 88 Love Stories is a fantastic photographer. We love ALL of our pictures. It was difficult to narrow down for an album since they were all beautiful. He captured all of the perfect moments. He setup the first look with my dad and husband perfectly, making the moments even more special. Shaun made us feel comfortable and listened to our vision from engagement photos to wedding day.

  James was our photographer from 88lovestories. He took great portrait photos of us and our family, candids, and captured our wedding weekend seamlessly. He captured great details of my dress, getting ready photos, table decor, and some more artistic style photos. All of our guests loved his energy and professionalism. Our photos turned out AMAZING!! We couldn't be happier with the quality of work. We would definitely recommend him!

  Shaun is a dream

  Shaun is the BEST photographer. We selected a package that included engagement photos, the day-of photos (with 2 photographers), and 2 printed "Parent" albums. Throughout the entire business relationship, Shaun was professional, timely, kind, and actively wanted to work with us. He drove out to Charlottesville, VA in the early AM to shoot our engagement photos on UVA Grounds. He even had a spare belt in his car when my husband had forgotten to pack his. 
  
  Shaun has an amazing way of working with people during the photography sessions to get exactly the right pose and best photos out of them. He suggested poses and places, but often his directions were non-technical. Like "now look at each other, now laugh, now serious". He did not pose us like mannequins, he captured our love and how we naturally looked at, touched, or held each other. 
  
  Even after postponing and downsizing our wedding, Shaun remained flexible. He accommodated our new date quickly, and made himself very available to us in case of any last minute planning or changes. On the day of, he made sure to capture the casual and candid moments just as much as the posed and framed ones. During the ceremony, Shaun was unobtrusive. He quietly and accurately captured our ceremony, which allowed us to enjoy ourselves without worry. He arrived at our dinner venue early for some final pictures, and stayed long enough to capture us cutting the cake. 
  
   After the wedding, we received our digital photos in 2 weeks. They had great variety and looking through them it felt like we got to relive the special day.
  
  All in all, we could not have asked for a better experience.

  Amazing Day and Amazing Photos to show!

  Shaun and his team were so much fun to have during our engagement shoot and during our wedding. They got right in and started taking photos of every detail they could see and nothing was missed. They even thought of taking shots that I hadn't thought of and they are some of my favorite photos! I'm so happy with how all the photos turned out and so happy with the experience they all brought to the wedding day. They helped keep the party and happy day vibes all day long and I couldn't have asked for a better photographer!

We found his ability to capture special moments nothing short of fascinating, as he was able to bring our big day to life and get amazing photos of both posed and candid situations. Shaun was somehow able to get photos of all the big moments of our wedding day while never being seen, as he never disturbed any guests but was always at the right place at the exact right time.

  Favorite vendor of our wedding!

  I can’t say enough great things about Stephanie and Jess from 88 Love Stories! Stephanie spent a lot of time speaking with us about ideas for pictures and locations for the engagement shoot and then drove more than an hour out of her way for our dream location; to say she was accommodating is an understatement! On the day of, Stephanie and Jess handled our (sometimes difficult) families perfectly, and by the end of the day, it felt like we were talking to friends and wedding guests more than vendors. Most importantly, the pictures are amazing and arrived only a few weeks after our wedding. We definitely recommend them!

  I can’t say enough great things about Stephanie and Jess from 88 Love Stories! Stephanie spent a lot of time speaking with us about ideas for pictures and locations for the engagement shoot and then drove more than an hour out of her way for our dream location; to say she was accommodating is an understatement!   Funny, cool, talented

  James is so great! We knew the moment we met with him to take our engagement pictures that he would be amazing. He got my, now husband, to enjoy taking pictures haha. James makes you laugh so the pictures turn out so amazing because you have fun doing it. Highly recommend him! Can not express enough how much we appreciate him!

  Awesome Experience!

  Our photos turned out beautifully! Shaun did both our engagement photos and our wedding photos. He is kind and professional and really helps you to feel comfortable while getting your photo taken. We are very happy with our choice to use 88 Love Stories and would highly recommend them!

  Wonderful people and gorgeous pictures!

  We couldn't be happier with 88 Love stories! Shaun was our photographer and he was kind, easy to talk to you and so professional! Both my husband and I are shy and Shaun made us feel so at ease and comfortable in front of the camera! Our pictures are stunning and perfect and we couldn't be happier!

  James is incredible!

  88 Love Stories came highly recommended to me by a friend. She was good friends with the owner, and knew that he did phenomenal work. After having my Maid of Honor speak with James Lee, we knew that he was going to be the photographer for us. James spent 45+ minutes on the phone with her, discussing life, dogs, and video games. We met him for brunch at our favorite brunch place and discussed us as a couple, how we met, our values, our hobbies, and James seemed genuinely enamored. The way he talked about his work was inspiring, and we knew that we wouldn’t be making a mistake going with him and his team. The prices were a little on the higher side, but the service we received was worth every single penny and then some.
  
  The first time we worked with James was for our engagement session. He was incredibly patient with us while we had to juggle the date around several times. When the time finally came, he worked with us in a way that made us happy and comfortable - being the total nerds that we are. Because he knew that dog rescue was a big part of who we are, he took special care to include our dogs in the shoot, making them a focal point in many ways. He listened to our ideas and accommodated us in every way. He even tolerated 95 degree weather in Deep Run Park in order to get us the shots we wanted.
  
  When the time came for the wedding, James showed up to our rehearsal the day before. He took beautiful photos of our wedding party, and took the time to make sure everyone was comfortable working with him before the big day. The morning of, he showed up on time and eager to work. His ideas were amazing, and he did most of his work without stressing out the bride or the wedding party. He was sociable and easy to talk to, and made everyone feel at ease, despite wielding a giant camera. He worked through our getting ready process, taking amazing photos of me, my girls, and the dogs. He and his partner took great pictures of our decor, and even got some really awesome shots of the groom and groomsmen while they got ready. Because of his personal friendship with hour videographer (Adam Samuelson at Memories), he allowed Adam to use his drone in order to get some awesome footage of the venue for our video.
  
  Honestly, I could go on all day about the incredible service James and 88LS provided. He is passionate about his work, super creative, and incredibly professional and talented. The quality of our photos is everything I could have dreamed of. He let us - and encouraged us to - be our silly and goofy selves, and still managed to get beautiful shots of us in addition to the silly ones. He paid close attention to our dogs because he knew it was important to us. I cannot sing 88LS’s praises enough. If you are planning to get married, you should absolutely at least have a conversation with James and/or his team.
