The Twelve Oaks Bed & Breakfast, LLC was built in 1836 (before Atlanta was established as a town) and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It is considered to be one of the best examples of antebellum architecture in the South and has been featured in numerous books, newspapers, and even in movies and tv shows such as Vampire Diaries and In the Heat of the Night! Cindy Crawford recently chose it to film a commercial and Tyler Perry chose it to film a movie. Margaret Mitchell was so intrigued by this home that she sent a photograph of it to the producers of Gone with the Wind along with a note that said, "I like this for Ashley’s home". Fox 5 Atlanta recently featured us on their morning show as a great getaway!
The mansion was completely renovated in 2012 and updated with every modern convenience including WIFI, remote control fireplaces in every room, and all new heating and air conditioning. There is plenty of room outside and inside to accommodate events up to 200! With over 11,000 square feet in the mansion and over 3 acres of grounds with a pergola and a gazebo, a pool, a pond, huge oak trees, and a huge deck, it is perfect for your next event.
The property is conveniently located only 30 miles from downtown in historic Covington, Georgia, which is also known as The Hollywood of the South. It may look familiar to you as it has been in many movies and served as the hometown in many hit television shows such as Dukes of Hazzard, Sweet Home Alabama, Footloose (the recent remake), Vampire Diaries, Remember the Titans, American Reunion and many more. The property is located within walking distance of the charming historic downtown Covington square with wonderful shops and restaurants such as the local ice cream parlor, Scoops, that overlooks the square.
Some of the unique benefits of a wedding at The Twelve Oaks:
Plenty of space outside and inside for your event. Want to have a beautiful outdoor ceremony but have an indoor location in case of rain? We’ve got you covered! You have use of the entire property (outside and inside) exclusively for your event.
We NEVER allow more than one wedding per day so you have plenty of time and never feel rushed. In fact, you can have all of your wedding festivities at The Twelve Oaks from your rehearsal and dinner on Friday to the ceremony and reception on Saturday and then enjoy a full breakfast sendoff in the morning before leaving for your honeymoon! Save money on transportation, hotel costs, etc. Have all your bridesmaids stay at the same location the night before the wedding!
Choose your own vendors! Do you have a florist or caterer that you want to use? We let you use the vendors YOU want so that your wedding can be uniquely you! This can also save you money if you want to do the flowers yourself or if you have someone in your family that wants to make your cake!
We allow you to bring in your own alcohol, which can save you money!
We don’t book rooms to people outside of your wedding party on the day of your event so everyone at the property will be your family and friends!
The Twelve Oaks is gorgeous! If you have your event at a place that is already beautiful, you won’t need to spend a fortune on flowers to make it memorable.

We had our daughter's wedding at The Twelve Oaks on June 13, 2015. Nicole and her staff walked us through the whole process early on, kept in touch with us through the months of planning, and made certain everything was to our liking for our daughter's special day. We can't thank them enough!Sent on 06/18/2015
We had the whole place to ourselves for the weekend, starting Friday at 3pm through Sunday morning. The rehearsal dinner was Friday evening out by the pool, and it was magical! The mansion itself is 3 stories, with 2 guest rooms on the first floor, 2 guest rooms on the second floor, and 4 guest rooms on the third floor. The third floor was where the bride and her bridesmaids stayed Friday night before the wedding. Did I hear someone say lingerie shower?
The wedding day (Saturday) began with everyone gathered around the huge dining room table for a wonderful breakfast. Vendors began arriving around mid day, in preparation for the 5pm wedding. Lots of hustle and bustle! The attention to detail by Nicole and her staff is great! Nothing is left to chance. The wedding package at The Twelve Oaks comes with ample chairs and reception tables. Of course, you can rent additional chairs and tables for very large weddings. Nicole has a list of recommended vendors such as catering, flowers, cakes, wedding coordinators, etc. that she has experience with, but you can use other vendors as well.
The Twelve Oaks is one of the finest examples of an Antebellum Mansion in Georgia, and probably in the South! It was an honor to have our daughter's wedding there, and get to stay there for the weekend! The bedrooms are decorated in period furniture, but very comfortable. The bathrooms are spectacular! The common areas are full of antiques, but are very inviting like your own living room.
By the way, after the rehearsal dinner, we sat on the expansive front porch in the wood rocking chairs and enjoyed a summer evening rocking away on an almost 180 year old front porch!

Having our wedding at The Twelve Oaks was by far the easiest, and best decision we made!! Our wedding was the weekend of May 16th, and Nicole, her fiance John, and all of the staff, worked so hard to make our weekend totally perfect! The house is BEAUTIFUL and immaculately maintained. All of our guests were completely amazed, and everyone said it was the most elegant wedding they had ever attended - which is exactly what we were going for! We were coming from out-of-state but even working long-distance Nicole made the entire process so easy. I would 100% recommend Nicole and The Twelve Oaks to EVERYONE, and I wish I could get married every weekend!! Thank you Nicole & team for the best weekend of our lives! :)Sent on 06/08/2015
