The Phillips Event Center is available seven days a week for rentals; please contact us to schedule a personal tour. We are centrally located near major highways, just 20 minutes from the airport and close to hotels and downtown Austin. We can accommodate up to 350 guests in our spacious, 4,800 square foot ballroom. Your guests will also enjoy our 1,200 square foot outdoor patio.

    Would I use this venue again? Yes. The ballroom is a beautiful room with hardwood floors. No wacky carpet patterns to worry about. You can put the dancefloor anywhere you want. You can use any caterer/bartender you wish. Ample free parking. Tables, chairs, and linens are included in the rental which makes it relatively easy for you. (Though, I had a lot of trouble getting a response from their linen vendor.)

    So the pros outweigh the cons. But it's helpful to know the cons before you begin working with them. The coordinator changed twice during our planning year. The woman we dealt with the most loves to tell about every horror story she's had to deal with. And you'll hear those stories more than once. I find her unprofessional and not very enthusiastic for her customers. Some vendors do a great job of focusing on the couple and how the vendor can make the day special for them and their friends/family. This vendor will let you have a special day as long as you don't do X Y Z to their venue. It's a warped view and not customer-friendly.

    Also note that they are stingy with their AC on the day of the event. We had sweaty guests at the end of the dancing, which will happen no matter what but I think it was warmer than it should have been for the amount paid for the rental.

    Don't ask for any flexibility... or if you do, make sure you have thick skin.

    We had our reception here. Beautiful wood floors for dancing. Practice lighting before your reception. Make sure you have everything you want in your contract or they will screw you over. They agreed to let us bring the cake in and keep it in the fridge the night before, then they said they rented out the kitchen and we could no longer do that. And we also had to have everything set up and out by 6PM the night before the wedding. Again, a beautiful venue but make sure you get it all in writing
