About

On WeddingWire since 2014

Here at Candlelight Forest, we offer two unique wedding venues, The Homestead and Ridge Rose. While these two wedding venues are located on the same property, they are separated by the beautiful landscape at the foothill of Lookout Mountain. Privacy between these two venues is no problem and each venue offers a unique escape. We are located in Northwest Georgia in the Chattanooga Valley, just minutes from Downtown Chattanooga.

Ridge Rose

You and your guests will enjoy panoramic, breathtaking views of Lookout Mountain on this picturesque ridge and its landscaped green. A permanent gothic, high vaulted tent, referred to as Hickory Hall, is built using hickory oak trees that hold up the tent roof, and serves as the reception area. Hickory Hall's roof was handcrafted by the oldest tent makers in the US, originally circus tent makers in the 1800's. A fairy tale stone cottage finishes the collage of architectural wonder that sets this venue apart. For brides who love fairy tales, forests and beautiful views, this just might be the venue for you.

Facilities and Capacity

Hickory Hall accommodates up to 150 guests comfortably and includes a full catering kitchen and separate bathrooms for men and women.

The ceremony green is contiguous to the main entry of the hall and provides spectacular views over Candlelight Forest and upwards toward the highest point of famous Lookout Mountain. The view from the green is the choice site for the ceremony and is the number one reason couples choose Ridge Rose.

We believe a true commitment to the best wedding experience must also include a special and exclusive place for the bride and her bridesmaids to enjoy each other as they prepare throughout the day. As such, a most charming, storybook stone cottage sits off in the shade just a few steps from the green and is the perfect place for the bride to begin her memories. The stone cottage is an architectural backdrop that will beautify many photos taken as the bride exits the cottage and enters the green.

During the evening and on into the late night, sparkling lights hang over the green as well as from the highest points inside Hickory Hall, and are nothing short of magical.

Services Offered

Ridge Rose caters to all wedding events including bridal showers, rehearsal dinners, engagement parties, but mostly wedding ceremonies and receptions.

We have several trusted vendors who know the venue extremely well and can provide, at your option, a full package of all the remaining vendored services, including wedding coordination or wedding planning services.

The venue includes 5 handcrafted farm matching tables and an assortment of other items for you to enjoy at no cost. Included in the price of the rental are up to 150 chairs for both the ceremony and reception along with up to 15 round or rectangle tables.

The Homstead

The Homestead venue features a rural estate of three stately buildings: an Italianate estate home, a 150-year-old historic, hand-pegged Amish barn, and a carriage house. Lake Angela and Lookout Mountain's highest elevation are both focal points in panoramic views enjoyed from this historic estate. The Homestead is perfect for large and intimate weddings, and, with the most charming of accommodations, it is the site of many destination weddings.

Facilities and Capacity
The Homestead at Candlelight Forest offers a variety of lovely outdoor options for the outside ceremony. The celebration barn typically serves as the reception site, but the formal green is also used. The Amish barn's 150-year patina sets it apart from many barns. Its aged wood gives it a warm canvas for decor that can go in a more formal direction or in a more rustic one.

The capacity is 250, although 300 have been seated before. The Italianate farmhouse, known as Peacock Hall, serves as an exclusive bridal suite providing the bride with her very own preparation area and place to fellowship with her friends throughout the day. An additional large vaulted hall room provides a spacious preparation area for the bridesmaids as well as place to serve and enjoy food and drinks. The Peacock Hall also houses a full catering kitchen with its own separate entrance. The carriage house sits opposite the barn and net to Peacock Hall and includes a patio with a fire pit. All three buildings of the estate are formally set around a lovely green and bounded by an antique brick carriage path.

Services Offered
The Homestead at Candlelight Forest caters to all wedding events including bridal showers, rehearsal dinners, engagement parties, but mostly wedding ceremonies and receptions.

We have several trusted vendors who know the venue well and can provide a full package of all the remaining vendored services, including wedding coordination or wedding planning services, catering, bar services, music, decor, etc.

Fairytale Venue

This venue is an absolute dream! My dad's friend is the owner of this property, and I’ve been coming here regularly since I was a little girl. When the barn was built, I immediately knew that I wanted to get married there one day, so much so, that my husband and I took a trip to the property, and this is where he proposed to me! It is truly breathtakingly beautiful! Away from the hustle and bustle, it’s the perfect rustic wedding! My girls and I had fun getting ready in the beautiful peacock hall while the men got ready in the barn. I just love the full set of windows on the backside of the barn that let in lots of light, and it’s so spacious and rustic inside the barn! We chose to have the ceremony out in the courtyard and have the reception in the barn, and it was perfect! And there are so many places around the property to take beautiful pictures—it was a dream! As if the scenery and location weren’t enough to sell you, I can’t even begin to express my gratefulness for the kindness and flexibility shown by the staff. We had to move our wedding at the last minute due to the groom coming down with covid the week before our original wedding date, and they were so accommodating and helped me to change dates easily. Thank you to Rachel Bourdon (the venue director) and John Tatum (the owner) for sharing this beautiful space with us and making all my childhood dreams come true!

Beautiful Wedding Venue!

Booked this venue after an awesome tour with Rachel. She was so helpful and kind throughout my entire wedding planning process. The venue itself is gorgeous, and I would definitely recommend this venue.
