    This venue is truly a GEM. This is one of the most affordable wedding venues we found in all of Sonoma – and we did a lot of searching. We contacted / visited a total of approximately 15 venues before checking out Garden Pavilion – nearly all of which were significantly more expensive than Garden Pavilion. It is a private residence, with several housing structures and barn-esque buildings on the property. There are vineyards, flowers, wisteria…it is rich with natural beauty. Our favorite thing was that we could rent out the huge farm house on the property for 20 of our closest friends and family members. When you book the venue for a Saturday wedding, it is yours from Friday morning to Sunday afternoon at 3 pm. There is an additional fee to rent out the farm house, but for us, it was significantly cheaper than it would have been to put everyone up in hotels. There is a separate pool house suite where my husband and I stayed for the weekend – very elegant and private. We held our rehearsal dinner at the property, and we all got ready at the property on Saturday and took photos before the ceremony. Had we wanted to, we could have had a Sunday morning brunch (we opted not to because most of our guests had flights to catch). Elisabeth (the property owner) takes great pride in the space, and it shows! Elisabeth’s daughter, Katharina, was our main POC for the event. She is super responsive on her cell, and she quickly answered all of our questions. Some other key things to note about this venue: Elisabeth encouraged me NOT to hire a wedding planner because she prefers to take care of things herself – loved that! We were allowed to hire any vendor that we wanted for catering, DJ services, etc. – there was no “preferred vendor list.” We were able to provide our own alcohol and choose our vendors freely – this peace of mind and freedom of choice is honestly priceless. One hard rule for the venue – the event has a hard stop at 10:00 pm. Love this place!

    I couldn't believe all of the comments and compliments we received about our venue. A small place without a website, and the owner doesn't e-mail, it can feel like the best kept secret! Elizabeth Coleman has a great staff that maintain the property and help with a lot of the day of set-up. The property is absolutely beautiful and we had a wedding there that comfortably fit 185. There is also a house on the property that sleeps 16 and it was an amazing opportunity for all of our out of town wedding party to be together for 3 nights. The private pool house is perfect for the bride and groom for the wedding night. I could not have had a more magical and amazing experience!

    I had my May 2015 rehearsal dinner, wedding brunch & post-wedding dinner at Garden Pavilion in Sonoma.

    Elisabeth is darling to work with, as she cares very much for her property and her brides. As long as you understand that you are renting a private estate for the weekend and must respect the neighbors and ordinances, everything goes swimmingly.

    We had 17 people (immediate families + vendors) stay on the property with us, and Elisabeth did not bat an eye.

    She decorates the property with giant floral arrangements, does site set up and tear down, provides tables, chairs, full kitchen, bar, signage, vintage furniture and china as well as heat lamps as part of the fee.

    She also provides sheets, towels, and toiletries so all you really need to do is bring your decor, clothes and have fun with your family and friends all weekend!
