The name Bienville Social comes from the story of Jean-Baptiste Le Moyne de Bienville who was one of the original colonizers of New Orleans. As Louisiana’s governor in the early 1700s, Bienville was responsible for the organization of the famous French Quarter, or Vieux Carre.
