For any event, the experience is high on the list for your event, from the cuisine to the ballroom ambiance, crafted cocktails and event service, every touch for your event should be an elevated experience for you and your guests. With that in mind, we personalize everything from the event minimum to the event menu and package and work with you one-on-one to ensure its truly YOUR wedding....not one that fits every bride...... but catered to YOU.
The Surety event experience includes event minimums to suit your budget, event rentals only for those spaces that don’t include dinner and bar menus that can include signature cocktails, hosted, beer, wine and liquor or all cash options as well.
For initial thoughts, many Surety packages start at $70.00 per person and that includes hors'd oevures during the cocktail hour, dinner service from Mulberry Street Tavern and one hour of hosted cocktails for your guests. Some packages are lower based on date preference and some are higher based on additional hours of beverages, elevated dinner options including beef and late-night snack options. No matter the budget, we are familiar in working with all couples at the Surety Hotel.
Facilities and capacity
Surety Hotel’s owners have brought one of the city’s most beloved landmarks back to dazzling life. The Hippie Building dates back to the early 20th century and is a stunning example of an early skyscraper. Its classic facade hides a newly renovated, design-orientated interior that provides a modern twist on classic, luxury decor. Rich materials of dark wood and gold combine with elements such as stately columns and marble fireplaces to tell a tale of the building’s past. The interior designers have introduced modern elements harmoniously, with clean-cut lines and minimalist touches seen throughout. The result is a setting that is impressive in tone and lends a tone of grandeur to any celebration it hosts. The Surety Ballroom is a welcoming setting for a party of up to 135 friends and family. Here, exposed brickwork meets decorative plaster-molding and creative light-fixtures to create a tone of upscale industrial chic. An adaptable venue, it can be arranged to suit couples’ needs and includes furniture rental such as table and chairs. After a night of dancing and dining, guests can retire to one of the hotel’s many fashionable rooms or suites. These feature comfortable beds for a good night’s sleep, as well as stunning views of Des Moines to wake up to.
The staff of Surety Hotel offers a range of services to those celebrating their big day. The management is happy to help couples organize their event, and can recommend outside vendors from the area. They can also offer block-booking services for wedding parties, as well as suite accommodation for those exchanging vows.
The catering team proposes a menu that features classic dishes with a modern twist. Guests can dine on creations such as pan-seared salmon accompanied by baby fennel and lemon aioli, or rich grilled eggplant served with crisp summer vegetables. There is also an extensive bar service available including gourmet coffee for after dinner.
