The food was to die for. The place was gorgeous! I loved how my husband and I plus our party had beautiful rooms to get ready in. Everything was organized with no hitches. Everything was explained very well and easy. A little pricy but in this case you get what you pay for.Sent on 01/08/2013

Five stars for the Stimson-Green Mansion and their staff! Finding the right venue for our small, vintage wedding was critical and the Stimson-Green fit the bill perfectly. Not only is the historical home beautiful, but the catering was exceptional - many of our other vendors told us the Stimson-Green had the best wedding food available in the city and we can safely agree with them. The only hiccup we had with our experience at the mansion was the pricing for beverages wasn't clearly stated as a charge separate from the food pricing; therefore, we were surprised by a 2K invoice - which also included the servers' gratuity - after the wedding.Sent on 03/21/2008
Everything else was superb. We worked with Gillian and she was the most delightful person. We host several events in our home throughout the year and, thus, are well versed in how many and which types of hors doeuvres to serve. It was clear, however, that Gillian was equally as well versed on this topic, too, and would have been able to offer expert advice to couples without that experience. The mansion offers two upstairs rooms in which to get ready, which was convenient and provided a romantic escape post ceremony.
The servers made our guests feel like kings and queens. There is something extra special about have passed hors doeuvres and an attentive serving staff who clears your plates and readies the tables for the next round of goodies; oh, and having champagne appear magically for toasts wasn't too shabby either! The staff even packed up goody boxes with a little bit of everything so we could have our leftovers in the days that followed the wedding.
And then, there was the food! Simply delicious. So delicious, in fact, that a few of the dishes were eaten up completely and no leftovers were available! We hired a sommelier and offered a wine tasting bar on the veranda during the cocktail hour and dinner. With our cake, the staff set out a tableau of fruits and cheeses and our sommelier served three of our favorite ports, as well. Both were a big hit and a fun bit of pampering for us and our guests.
So, all in all, our experience at the Stimson-Green was magical. We can't wait to attend Murder Mysteries and Roaring 1920's balls there in the future; oh, and maybe an anniversary party or two!

The venue is beautiful and really made for a unique wedding experience for our guests. Everything came out even better than I imagined and all the guests raved about the food. If you are having a small-ish wedding you should definitely consider this venue.Sent on 03/21/2017
