Communication was very poor to start with, so it set the stage for the rest of our relationship with our DJ. After asking him to be more prompt about responding to emails or phone calls, communication did get better and I thought we were headed in a new direction. Unfortunately, when it came to the after ceremony announcement to tell our extended family to stick around for pictures, that was not made. He then blamed it on me saying that I did not tell him to make this announcement, but it was on my schedule that I emailed to every vendor and wedding party participant. I know he saw the schedule, because he was using it to check things off during the day. Everyone else saw the bold red font to make the announcement, so I don't understand how he can blame that on me. I also had several requests for the reception as to playing a specific genre, a song dedicated to my sister and sister-in-law, and a song to do the Electric Slide to, all of which were not played. There were also NO slow songs played other than our last dance song. And after writing a negative Yelp review with all of this information, he emailed me to argue all the points, rather than just taking it as constructive criticism. I was not looking for an argument, as he already had our payment prior to the wedding and I was not asking for any type of refund or anything in return. He also mentioned that he was playing music that guests were requesting so that they would stay out on the dance floor (by which time we probably had about 20 people left because it was a Sunday evening wedding). Since when does guest requests come over the bride's? The only thing that was amazing was he put purple lights around the reception room. This did make me cry when I saw them and definitely enhanced the room. Still, I will not ever recommend this DJ to anyone.
