This was the last thing that I booked—three weeks before the wedding! I called up and made a trial appointment. Nicole was super nice and very talented. I brought in a couple photos I’d found on theknot.com and she picked one she thought would match our ceremony. She curled my hair and then sewed it up! With a needle and thread! I’d never heard of it before. It worked swimmingly—it was really secure without feeling tight, painful, or uncomfortable. I love how my hair looks in all my photos!

Soon Beauty Lab West (Manhattan W 22nd street location) was recommended to me by our wedding planner- Polka Dot Events. Lauren Grummel did my hair and Mikaila Hutchens did my make up. They are both very talented and I loved the way I looked for the wedding. Lauren was amazing and listened to what I wanted and was really adaptable and was able to alter the style as we went along during my hair trials (I ended up having two trials before we fully decided on the style). On the wedding day everything was perfect. Soon Beauty Lab opened early on the day of the wedding to do hair an make up for my bridal party as well (10 people not including me). They were fast and efficient and everyone looked amazing! We ended up finishing everything ahead of schedule. It was stress free and fun. Soon Beauty Lab also will send stylists to a private location for day-of hair and make up if that is what you're looking for, we initially considered this option but given the large size of our bridal party it made more sense logistically to go to the salon. They let us bring food and champagne and we basically took over the place, it ended up feeling like a party!

My hairstylist at Soon Beauty Lab (Connie) did exactly what I wanted. I didn't have her do anything on the DAY OF the wedding, but she styled and colored my hair the day before, and it held up beautifully (I was not wearing an UPDO, so I didn't have to worry about sleeping on it).

I recommend Connie specifically or Soon Beauty Lab in general for hairstyling, cutting, and coloring. They might have recommendations for makeup as well. They have two locations in Manhattan, so it's convenient, too.
