    Ugh, so disappointing....

Alright so 2 months in advance we ordered the cake we wanted, picked up the cake and it was wonderful. Ordered the same cake again in October and placed the order to give them plenty of advance notice. Spent half an hour speaking with the staff on the day I placed the order to confirm there would be no issues and provided the picture of what was wanted, a semi-naked white frosted cake. I received a call 2 days prior to our wedding from the bakery manager, Xaiver saying he wouldn't complete our order as it was not in their product book. After a lengthy conversation, I settled for a fully white frosted 3-tier cake that then we would scrap the extra frosting off ourselves. The day of our wedding when we showed up at the stated and confirmed time of pickup to be told the cake was not ready. Told them to give us the cake "as-is" and we would do the rest that it needed to be picked up. Then was told they hadn't even started to assemble our cake, so there was nothing to hold the layers together. We requested they apply enough frosting to hold the cake together and then give us the cake and icing for us to finish they process of which they did not. However, after all that once we got the cake from them, we received a semi-naked white frosted cake. Needless to say, the extra frosting went to the trash and I don't believe I'll be ordering any other items from this bakery again.

We chose Sam's Club for our reception because when we first went to the bakery, the woman who helped us was very friendly and helpful. She let us sample the various icings/frostings and gave us recommendations for flavor and colors. The prices were very affordable and we were still able to do a tiered cake. We placed our order in advance per their recommendations. We verified the pick up time for a cake in a week multiple times before we left. When we went to pick up our cakes the evening before the reception, the cakes were not ready. They had been placed in the wrong day and were set to be baked the day of our reception. The evening before our wedding we had to scramble and rearrange our schedule so that we could pick up our cakes the morning of our wedding. My husband had to pick up the cakes at 7 am the day of our reception. We asked for purple decorations, and the flowers on the cake looked black and blue, depending on who you asked at the reception. The cake tasted good, this is the only positive I can say about our experience with Sam's Club Bakery in Friendswood, TX.
