The Avery House is a beautiful historic landmark in Fort Collins. It's very near to Old Town. We loved the location and look of the venue. Having the historic house in the background to our outdoor wedding (that took place on the lawn) was stunning. The venue's natural landscape in wonderful, and the gazebo adds a lovely spot to exchange vows.

There were a few tricky things about this venue that made it a little more challenging than your average wedding spot:

1. Since this is a city owned property, we had to be completely packed out by 10pm. Luckily, this wasn't a problem for us, but did require a bit of help from guests to make it happen.

2. All services must be contracted and dealt with separately, which meant hiring, organizing, and directing all set up on the day. I would recommend hiring a wedding planner, or at least a day-of planner, to alleviate the stress on the couple.

3. Since it is a city property, we were not allowed to have kegs or hard alcohol. This was fine, but is something worth noting.

4. Due to the historic property, no fire was allowed - no mosquito torches, no candles. Not a big deal, but worth noting.

We really enjoyed the location and got a lot of compliments from our guests. As long as the things above aren't a deterrent to you, we would recommend this venue.
