Painted Lakes Venue is a wedding venue specializing in rustic ranch weddings in the country located about an hour West of Fort Worth. The venue offers stunning views and a 1920's climate controlled barn that’s perfect for receptions. The barn also offers an adjoining 3,000 sq ft covered patio that makes a magnificent dance floor or an alternative location for an outdoor reception in the event of inclement weather. The Texas Tumbleweed Barn is located on a hill and overlooks a pond and array of oak trees. Regardless of the weather conditions, you can have your dream wedding at this venue, as your ceremony can be held at any location on the property including outside, in the barn or outside on the covered patio. Officially opened as a venue in 2017, Painted Lakes is a great location for a private, serene, country wedding. The property is also home to horses, jackrabbits, ducks, and cattle. Antique props that the venue offers help you capture the romance and environment of your outdoor, sunset or country-themed wedding.
Facilities and Capacity
When you rent Painted Lakes Venue, you have the opportunity to use various outdoor spaces in addition to the Texas Tumbleweed Barn. The venue can accommodate up to 200 guests, and the barn’s attached covered patio is spacious and makes room for additional guests. Use this space for dancing, mingling or having your ceremony in case of rain.
In addition to services such as cleanup and access to a bridal suite, Painted Lakes offers some unique options, including a horse-drawn carriage that can escort you to your ceremony, a bounce house with a sitter for the kids, an ice cream wagon, antique double white doors, and more. There are also plenty of fun photo opportunities on-site, including a rustic swing in an old oak tree, a doctor’s buggy, a antique couches, rustic chairs and an old iron wheel tractor. We also offer some cabin rentals, skeet shooting and a pony express service that picks up guests at local hotels and provides a round trip in the event they require a driver.
The chuck wagon can also serve your catered meal, plus biscuits, beans and peach cobbler. We can also cater from the chuck wagon for you. Looking for a tasty dessert to serve? The ice cream wagon can provide homemade ice cream for you and your guests.
Overnight accommodations are also available. The property offers a bunk house (sleeps 8), a 2 bedroom cabin (sleeps 4-7) with a full kitchen that adjoins the bunkhouse, the Bath House cabin (or honeymoon cabin), and some other cabins.
Built in 1927, the Texas Tumbleweed Barn was an oil field supply store until the oil boom ended. It was then purchased by Joe Clayton to use as a local feed store and a holding station for cattle who were loaded on railroad cars and shipped to the Fort Worth Stockyards to sale. After the feed store closed, the barn was vacant for many years until Wade and Susan had Randy Martin (star on Texas Flip and Move) relocate the barn to their home place just down the road on the top of a hill, and it became the Texas Tumbleweed Barn at Painted Lakes.

Best Venue Ever!
The Painted Lakes Venue is breathtaking! We were in love with the venue from the moment we saw it. Susan and Wade (owners) are a God send..always so helpful, accommodating, generous and friendly. They make you feel like family and are there to help in anyway they can. I found myself needing a preacher with only a week till our wedding and Susan immediately started tracking people down for me. Wade took alot of gorgeous pictures for us and they both did everything they could to make our day as magical as possible! Everyone had a blast thanks to these two and their wonderful venue, you couldn't ask for more on your big day! Thank you Susan and Wade, Marcus and I are truly grateful!Sent on 10/31/2019
