History
Irishman and stonemason Bernard McGough (later, Gough) traveled to Illinois in 1850 with his son Peter to seek a better life for his family. While his wife and remaining five children stayed in their home country of Ireland, Bernard and Peter worked to pay for the family's passage and lay the foundation for the family in the US. In the 1860s, the Gough Family Farm was finally underway in Darlington, WI. Throughout the generations, the barn has transformed from a dairy farm to a place for festivities. Bernard's great-great-granddaughter, Mary, is the current owner of the farm and the events are managed by her niece, Caitlin.
