Between living in Boston, having a wedding in Tulsa, OK, and my mother living in Dallas, TX, figuring out wedding dress shopping was quite the task. I ended up deciding to go shopping in Dallas so my mom and aunt could come too. We started at a standalone dress shop in Fort Worth where the gowns all seemed generic, not to mention it felt a little like they were herding cattle. We found a couple of dresses that day, but something was telling me to keep looking, so the next day we went to the Nordstrom Wedding Suite.Sent on 12/06/2016
It was like night and day. The Nordstrom suite was elegant and calm, and I was the only person trying on dresses that day. Of course, the classier experience also carried heftier price tags, but the quality of dresses was so much better than those in the first store. I found a blush Bliss by Monique Lhuillier dress that we all adored, and we bought it that day.
After we purchased the dress, I went back for three fittings. We had the same consultant as our first visit, Cindy, and she remembered us each time, which was a nice touch. The fittings went smoothly, and while the alterations were steep ($700+) for hemming, bustle, and fitting the bodice, it was a tulle ballgown with many layers and a complicated bustle, so the price made sense.
All in all we had a great experience!
