Our reception was amazing!
We used Lake Acorn Pavillion for our reception area, and I could not have asked for anything better. Rachel is beyond amazing and will help to make your day as perfect as she can. The food was great! We got so many compliments on the fajita buffet! And it is affordable with any budget! Thank you!!!Sent on 09/26/2019

Everything was set up in a timely manner, as I had discussed with the event coordinator. The food was excellent! We had pot roast and grilled chicken and it was delicious. The servers were friendly and prompt with their service. It was a great place to accomodate a bigger wedding reception!Sent on 10/04/2011

Do you want a BEAUTIFULSent on 01/03/2019
wedding, but you don't have $10,000+ or even just $5,000 for it?
Here's how we had our beautiful wedding at Montgomery bell state park for less than $3,000.
Montgomeryy bell was PERFECT for our small (and BUDGET) winter wedding. I cannot praise them enough! We had the wedding of our DREAMS and people kept telling us it was one of the best weddings they had ever been to!
✓guest lodging for 2 nights
✓food for 60 people
✓alcohol and bartender
✓tips for service
We only paid $2, 717.08!!
Helpful throughout the whole process. Rachel was our event coordinator on site and she made sure everything was how we wanted it. She was quick to respond to emails and phone calls and knew exactly what questions to ask to make sure I didn't forget anything about our big day. They had several meal options for us to choose from at a very affordable price. Everything from a simple soup and salad bar to exquisite plated dishes brought to the table.
We opted for a 2 meat and 4 sides option buffet and it was a hit. I promise you will find SOMETHING on their catering menu that will work for you. We went with pork chops, and smoked chicken.( Everyone loved these!) Baked potatoes with all the toppings, Mac and cheese, green beans, rolls and black eyed peas. They also served lemonade and tea with coffee on request. The banquet food was the priciest thing in our budget and
it only cost us $1,067.
Our bar tender for the reception was excellent. He not only served drinks, but he had a pleasant and fun attitude. Dirty plates were cleared, empty glasses were refilled, and anytime we needed something extra( like hot water to cut the cake,) it was available and ready in a flash. We gave our guests free drink coupons and then did a cash bar so overall for the bar we spent less than $300. ( They had tons of options for bar set up as well!)
The Parlor room option at their inn was perfect for meeting up,and getting everyone ready with a kitchenette, living area, balconies and bedrooms. Each room at the inn looks over the gorgeous acorn lake. The single rooms were available for guests looking for more privacy. They also have really modern cabins at the park that sleep 8 with full kitchens and patios.( PS, if you're a state employee( like a teacher) you can get a room for 50%off!!) The inn is dated, but you can tell the staff does an excellent job of upkeep and cleanliness. Places were repainted, rooms were kept, and Everyone we met there really seemed to care about the park, their work, and us. We were congratulated several times throughout our stay without even saying we were the couple getting married. The inn is connected to the restaurant which was open for anyone who wanted to head downstairs for a bite to eat after unpacking.
The ceremony: MB has several options for ceremonies. They have a darling little chapel with stained glass windows, and an outdoor park pavillion. ( It is historic and There is not electricity in the chapel) They have several "camping" style areas and of course the conference center. We decided to stay indoors for our ceremony. The conference room can be sized according to your needs. We only had about 50 people so we kept the conference room small. But they have a huge option if you're having a lot of people. The walls are pretty bare, so that leaves decorating open. We built our own arch with pvc pipe, string lights and drapes for less than $50. We rented a microphone from MB for $30 and we're able to play music from the built -in speakers in the conference hall Using a laptop with Spotify logged in.(You can have the reception in the conference halls as well and they will set up round tables for you complete with all tablecloths, colored napkins, plates/silver etc.)
We held our reception at the Forge restaurant in the same building. We booked the whole restaurant for less than $400! It easily seats 100+ but we only needed room for 60. The windows in the restaurant are huge and overlook the lake. The fireplace is burning as you walk into the restaurant. The lights give a rustic state park feel while at the same time giving a sense of class. The restaurant is already decorated for the season and most times they have cute wooden lanterns, pine trees, and other state park/cabin style decor already set up. We added centerpieces and candles, but really we didn't have to decorate much at all. (Which saves tons of money!!) We used our own speakers in the restaurant because there is no sound available there, but it worked out perfectly.
We were able to book the rooms/venues early and actually made several payments over time to our wedding account. They kept everything on our file so that on the day of our wedding we didn't have to think about it. Every paycheck, we could call up and make a $200-$300 payment depending on how the month was going/ what other bills we needed to pay that week.
Tips were all included when booking and checking out, so it made it incredibly easy to pay the final bill and leave. We didn't have to worry with leaving envelopes with certain people to make sure everyone was paid/tipped.
Our wedding was exactly what we were looking for. We didn't want to spend an extravagant amount on anything. We wanted casual, but not cheap. We wanted rustic, but not a barn. We wanted gorgeous views and good food. We didn't want to have to worry about anything on the big day. And we got it all with Montgomery Bell state park.
