This home once belonged to the McAlister family who had a reputation of having the most beautiful flowers in town. There once was over 1000 tulips in the gardens around this home. We have kept the name McAlister House in their honor. It was built in 1914 and had been long neglected when it was purchased by Joey and Wanda Stroupe one week before a planned controlled burn was to destroy the home.
The McAlister House was lovingly and meticulously restored under the direction of local contractors Casey Roberts Construction to the beautiful property it is today. Most of the hardwood floors throughout the home are original and new crown molding and chandeliers were replaced as well as the fireplaces and light fixtures. Much of the old world charm of this home remains. The landscaping was by ILM in Faulkner and is stunning from spring until fall. No matter which event you host here you will have a unique opportunity to enjoy the charm of this property as it was in the early 1900s.
