Lorrie and Joe Latchford founded LJ Crafts fourteen years ago (2004). Our accountant contacted Lorrie and felt that since she had radical mastectomy fourteen years ago it would be good therapy for her to make soap.
Lorrie educated in Catholic elementary and High School in Silver Spring, Maryland. She graduated from Montgomery Blair High School in Silver Spring, Maryland. She worked in private industry, then Government and back in Private industry. In 1980 Lorrie assisted her husband in forming the U.S. Naval Academy Parents and Sponsors Club. This organization closed down in 2005. We brought midshipmen to our house from 1975 to 1985. We gave them a home away from home.
Joseph Latchford was educated in Catholic Elementary Schools and graduated from Mount Saint Joseph High School an all boy’s Catholic School, located in Baltimore, Maryland. He studied at University of Baltimore Business School, American University in Washington, DC and LaSalle Correspondance School and between the three earned two year degree, in Traffic & Transportation. In the 70’s, Joe served three years on the Board of Directors at Catonsville Community College, in the field of Traffic and Transportation. While living near Baltimore, MD, Joe worked in private industry in management area for 37 years in Field of Traffic & Transportation with Koppers Company & EEC. Both companies have since closed.
