Taught by his father, a professional guitarist, Ken started playing guitar at the age of three. He was born in Columbia, MO and by his early teens he was playing rock and rhythm and blues and anything else that rebelled against his family’s old country / bluegrass roots.
During a stint in the military he embraced his bluegrass origins and began playing banjo and mandolin and established a weekly bluegrass jam session near Columbus, GA on the banks of the Chattahoochee River. During the years he continued to master his personal style of pseudo classical music, where he plays bass, rhythm, and lead at the same time (People have commented that, “it sounds like more than one instrument playing”).
In 1996 he settled in central Texas and became a weekend musician and solo artist and began teaching guitar. He continued to play with local groups in country, rock, blues, and bluegrass.
As a solo artist he has performed at weddings, graduations, for the Royal Caribbean Cruise Line, internationally (Czech Republic), Branson Mo., and at countless parties, dinners, and ceremonies.
Ken’s passion is music. He loves the energy and excitement that music brings to his life. He plays country music in the style of Chet Atkins. He plays rock music reminiscent of Stevie Ray Vaughn and he plays most everything in between. His pseudo classical style is a combination of country-rock-jazz-latin & blues.
