In the late 1600s, William Penn owned the land. In 1711, 50 acres were purchased by William Morgan, who built part of the farmhouse. After William Morgan's death, Joseph Ambler bought the land. It stayed within his family until John Roberts, who married an Ambler daughter, acquired the land in 1825. He added a living room and dining room to the farmhouse. In 1983, more than 100 years and many owners later, Richard Allman bought 12 acres of the property. He is the current owner of Joseph Ambler Inn.
Philadelphia is 40 minutes from the inn. It is 40 minutes from Philadelphia International Airport, 16 minutes from Doylestown and 26 minutes from King of Prussia.

Beautiful and charming buildings and grounds. We love photographing weddings here!
Every time we are asked to create flowers for an event at JAI -we jump at the chance. The incredibly lovely venue, coupled with the extraordinary staff members-make it one of our very favorite "field trips". Every season shines on their beautiful "oasis" in the middle of Montgomeryville- you're close to everything but feel as though you have taken a step back in time- to a place where the simple pleasures can be savored and enjoyed. We at An Enchanted Florist at Skippack Village highly endorse the Joseph Ambler Inn as one of the premier venues in our area and look forward to our next wedding there :) Jill and the entire Enchanted Team in Skippack
