We had our wedding in downtown Chicago, but we live in Lawrence, KS. So, my veil was originally purchased, along with my dress and accessories, through a bridal store in Kansas City. However, I do I do was the one that saved my wedding day! Late the night before my wedding, I had finally settled into my hotel room and un-wrapped my dress to hang it up and release some of the wrinkles from the 9 hour drive to Chicago. To my horror, the bridal store in Kansas City had failed to wrap up and give me my custom made veil with my wedding dress. (This is despite the fact that I had gone back into the store to double check I did indeed have my veil before I left Kansas City and they assured me it was wrapped up with my dress). I was in tears the night before my wedding and woke up the morning of my wedding feeling like I didn't want to leave the hotel room. Then I Do, I do came to the rescue!

My mom was also staying at the same hotel with me, so at 8 a.m. she went down to the concierge and they helped her find I Do, I Do. My mom called and thankfully reached the owner! My mom explained to her that I didn't have my custom made veil from Kansas City and that it was the morning of my wedding. She let my mom come over right away and even spoke with the bridal store in Kansas City to help me find a veil closest to the one I had custom made for me. The veil was as close of a match as I could have asked for at the last minute. Furthermore, it was a designer veil - well made and a good price! It matched my ivory colored dress perfectly and it even had a metal comb (which stays put much better than the cheap plastic ones!) If you're looking for a well-made and beautiful veil, I would highly recommend I Do, I Do!

As an added bonus, the owner was the nicest person! She helped my mom call a cab to take her back to the hotel, and she even went to a coffee shop with my mom and had a cup of coffee with her while they waited for the cab to arrive! Talk about service!

All of my experiences with I DO I DO were AWFUL!!!

I attempted to set up an appointment to see and then order a garter that they have online and the woman I spoke to ont he phone was rude and told me to just order it online (I could return it if I didn't like it). When the garter finally arrived I didn't like it and I wanted to return it (this is why I prefer to order things in person and actually see them before I order them). It took over 3 months to get my refund. After about 4 weeks a called to store to ask what had happened. They (again rudely) told me 1) they don't issue refunds (despite assurances on their website that they DO refund), 2) they had already sent me an email (they had not), and 3) that they had already bend over backwards and sent me a certificate for exchange (ie they wouldn't refund, but would let me "exchange" for something of equal value). Then several weeks later I received an appoligetic email saying that 1) they confused me for someone with a similar order (I thought they used order numbers to assure that this kind of mix-up didn't happen!), 2) were issuing a refund (which I FINALLY did receive a few weeks after that).

In a totally un-related incidence (which occurred soon after I'd returned the garter above) I went to the store to see if I could find a head-piece that I desperately needed (I was having issues with the bridal shop that sold me my first one). 1) the shore was creepy and over packed with stuff. 2) I was not aloud to touch ANYTHING or try on any of the pieces. 3) I was told that if I bought something that day I WOULD NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES be permitted to return it... I MIGHT be able to exchange it for something, but NOT get my money back. 4) No, I could NOT put it on hold (even for a day)... so I had better buy it RIGHT NOW, otherwise it might be gone.

About the only positive thing I can say is that they do have a LARGE selection of items (non-dress, but all other wedding accessories/favors etc). But given my experiences with them I WOULD NOT recommend this store to anyone. If you're DESPERATE for something (like maybe your veil got destroyed when you were getting into the taxi on your way to the church and you need to swing by the shop to get a replacement same day), MAYBE I would consider going there.
