Your celebrations can kick start with a memorable rehearsal dinner at the terrace. This quaint patio is complete with garden furnishings, stunning views, and complimentary lawn games. Ceremonies can take place in a variety of indoor and outdoor spaces. The property lawns are well maintained and can play host to both small and large ceremonies. With views of the white-washed house and rolling hills, you and your loved one can exchange vows in the great outdoors surrounded by family and nature. As you take your first steps as a newlywed couple, you and your guests can gather and mingle at the garden greenhouse for a splendid cocktail hour. This enchanting space provides a tranquil area to relax before the reception and many photo opportunities. You can take cherished images next to the sugar maples, the bridge, or in front of three fireplaces. Your reception can take place in the great outdoors or under a large tent, depending on the time of year. An adjacent large car park provides an easy drop-off and pickup space for party buses and taxis. Inside the property is a cozy beamed dining room. This intimate space is great for micro-weddings of just a few close friends and family members. The rest of the house features several accommodations and living quarters. You and your wedding party can relax in the library, lobby, and tavern before starting to get ready ahead of your sacred day.
The Horse & Hound is an event venue with no on-site staff, so our couples can bring in all of their own vendors, including catering, bar service and decor to make their wedding celebration unique. The Horse & Hound can provide reception items for indoor weddings, including chairs, tables, dishware, glassware, and flatware. The couple also has the option of using the on-site hand crafted birch ceremony arch; all outdoor wedding items must be rented.

Best venue ever!
We had our wedding at Horse & Hound on Saturday of Memorial day weekend. It was absolutely perfect for our 55 person outdoor wedding (although there is room for plenty more in their beautiful outdoor space). Katy was very helpful along the way and always available to answer questions while planning. All our guests loved the space and couldn't stop talking about how perfect it was for a wedding. I was obsessed with the horse trailer bar, the perfect addition for the "backyard" space. I would 100% recommend the Horse & Hound for your wedding day!Sent on 06/07/2021
Team of Horse and Hound
The Horse & Hound is lovingly owned by three childhood friends and their families. We enjoy the property together, especially skiing at neighboring Cannon mountain in the winter. But we truly love to open the doors of the historic, and once exclusive, Horse & Hound to all for their special day!
The Horse & Hound began as a farmhouse in the 1830s. In the 1940s, wealthy Wall Street financier transformed the property into an inn using an English fox hunting estate as inspiration. The Horse & Hound catered to an exclusive A-list crowd from Boston, New York and Philadelphia and was marketed as “a country inn with a country club atmosphere.” The dazzle continued through the 1960s and the après ski parties at the Horse & Hound were legendary.
After passing through a number of owners and iterations, the Horse & Hound was recently renovated and restored to resemble the original 1940s New England lodge. As current owners, although we appreciate the history of the Horse & Hound, our goal as a wedding venue is to be the opposite of exclusive. We hope that couples of all types will consider the Horse & Hound as a wedding venue. Anyone who will appreciate the rich history of the Horse & Hound, love the craftsmanship and quality of property, or take advantage of the amazing outdoor activities of the area.
