Generations of couples have been married at this treasured family home. On the National Register of Historic Places, a wedding at one of the North Carolina’s oldest former peanut plantations is an opportunity to create your vision upon a blank canvas, whether you’re planning a rehearsal dinner, wedding and/or reception.
With a stunning view of the Manor House's double piazzas, wedding ceremonies at Poplar Grove provide an intimate and natural setting for any occasion. Catering to couples who favor rustic elegance, Poplar Grove is an amazing backdrop for your fall, winter, spring or summer wedding.
Each couple has the opportunity to share their special day unique to their personality and style by choosing their own caterer, band, photographer, event planner, florist, and tent rentals. We have on site tables and chairs included with your package.
Additionally, there are more than one place to stage your wedding ceremony, such as the gazebo, back courtyard of the Manor House, or under the Red Oak tree. Poplar Grove can accommodate the most ceremonial or most informal weddings.
Unique to your experience is the Manor House bridal suite. For an additional fee you and your wedding party can dress and prepare all the final touches before descending down the main staircase of the Manor House. There is also a gentlemen’s morning room.
For a dramatic reveal, choose to exit from the front or back porches to meet your family and friends who have come to celebrate your special day.

AMAZING! Chrissy was so very nice!
Chrissy was so very nice, showed us around and gave us a ton of options, and she even gave us some history on the whole place! She even showed us preveious weddings there, to give us an idea of where we could have a ceremony and what it would look like!Sent on 06/11/2019

If you are looking to have a dream wedding, Poplar Grove is your place! The property and everything on it is beautiful and so well kept. They were so flexible with letting us decorate, which really took away a lot of the stress from our big day. Another stress reliever is that they not only have multiple places for you to have your ceremony, they also have the perfect place for your reception. Being able to utilize the same venue for both made everything so much easier on everyone. They even have a backup barn that can be utilized in the event that it rains on your special day (and the barns are so beautiful so I wouldn't have even been sad if we had to do our ceremony in the barn versus outside due to rain). One of the BEST features of Poplar Grove is Chrissy. She is the most sweet, helpful, and supportive person you will ever meet. She was there to assist us every step of the way and did everything in her power to make our day less stressful and oh so perfect. She was simply the best! If you want a beautiful, affordable, convenient, and all around perfect place for your wedding, Poplar Grove is definitely for you!Sent on 06/09/2018
We LOVE performing weddings at Poplar Grove Plantation. Chrissy and her team are amazing and make it simple! With a gorgeous barn for the reception, beautiful outdoor grounds and a lovely historic home, you'll be pleased!
Poplar Grove is a beautiful venue both inside and out! The historic house is a wonderful backdrop to great indoor or outdoor weddings that provides a great experience for the wedding clients as well as great imagery for photographers. Sometimes the peacocks will even pop through for a photo op! Highly recommended venue in the Wilmington area.
A beautiful, southern-style plantation home and estate! Everywhere I turned I saw a photo op. The popular vintage-style of photography and editing today pairs perfectly with this type of venue. You will not be disappointed!
