The New River Inn was the first inn in Fort Lauderdale and is one of our oldest buildings. It is right on the New River and is absolutely gorgeous. We were married in the back yard with our guests looking out towards the river (can't wait to see the photos). Linda stayed with us until the last photos were taken and was so helpful. Alot of the historical buildings in Florida have taken to charging ridiculous prices for holding your ceremony there, lucky the New River Inn is not one of them. They were reasonably priced and completely worth every penny and more. And they are convienently placed less than a block from down town Ft Lauderdale so if I had had the whole ceremony and reception there, we could have just walked a block to keep the party going :) Instead I walked from the coffee shop to my wedding - what a great way to start things offSent on 12/01/2009

It is not private. We actually had our wedding here and random people were allowed to walk through the wedding. We were told that they would be only allowed to walk AROUND the venue. Not only were people walking through the area that was the dance floor, we had a homeless man on a wheelchair get pushed through, tourists that actually came up to our table to wish us a happy wedding and a Ft Lauderdale bicycle tour rode through. That being said, the place was cheap compared to most places, and BEAUTIFUL. We have some of the most gorgeous photos.Sent on 01/04/2013
