Laurie has become one of the top wedding planners in Southern California. Laurie was recently showcased on the WE Channel’s “Platinum Weddings” where she coordinated Olympic Medalist Toby Dawson and Leah Gordon’s wedding at the Private Bighorn Golf Club in Palm Desert, California.

Laurie has been in the hospitality industry since 1981, and has been specializing in planning weddings and special events for the last sixteen years. Laurie is not only a member of the Association of Bridal Consultants; she has held the position of Co-Director of the Orange County Group for the last two years.
Having coordinated celebrations at such prestigious establishments as the Montage Resort, Ritz Carlton, Beverly Hills Hotel, and the St. Regis, she found it only fitting to name her company Five Star Weddings and Events. “It’s always been my philosophy that every bride and groom deserves the finest personal service I can give them.”
Laurie’s quickness and ability to anticipate is almost the stuff of legend among her peers. “She seems to be able to resolve problems before anyone else is aware that there is a potential problem,” says one videographer. She always tries to be one step ahead so that she can say, “its right here,” or “I’ve already taken care of it.” In fact, Laurie is so far ahead of the game she’s taken out the ultimate insurance: “I had myself ordained just in case the minister doesn’t show up,” she explains. “A professional coordinator must be open and ready for anything.”

Laurie and her team are absolutely incredible! I cannot imagine having planned my destination wedding without her expert advice and organization. She really went above and beyond and had many meetings with us to understand what we wanted and help us prioritize what was most important. She even attended our tasting to meet with us and the venue coordinator. The vendors she works with are top-notch and I knew I was in good hands after our first meeting. As we could only travel to California a few times before the wedding, Laurie scheduled all of our vendor meetings and meetings with her for the weekends that worked best for us. All we had to do was show up and say what we liked and Laurie would take care of everything else, including keeping track of all of our contracts and making sure that the vendors knew when to show up. She was available to talk by phone and responded to emails very quickly. We got great discounts on our vendors by going through Laurie. She was there for the rehearsal to make sure everyone knew what to do on the day-of and also worked with our DJ to secure A/V equipment.Sent on 11/05/2013
The day-of went so smoothly! Laurie and her team helped me and the groom prepare and showed us where we needed to be and when. Everything was set up perfectly. We are so glad we followed Laurie's advice to do a first sighting and photos beforehand so we could enjoy at least part of our cocktail hour with our guests. We were also so happy we got live music for the ceremony. Everything was on schedule and went without a hitch! Laurie and her team also decorated our suite beautifully. Overall, I couldn't be happier to have had Laurie work with me over the last year to make our dream wedding become a reality, and I highly recommend her services to any couple!

We recently got married at the St. Regis Monarch Beach in Dana Point, CA. Laurie made everything run seamlessly. Whenever we had any question at all, from big to small, she was there to answer it and execute it. She kept us on track and provided us with weekly checklists of things that needed to be done on our side (invitations, favors, venue deposits, etc.) and always provided us with a weekly report of what was being done on her side. She even provided us each with personal assistants on our wedding day (who were both excellent as well) to take care of our every little need. Whenever we needed to speak with her, she was always right there.
I honestly cannot say enough good things about Laurie and Five Star Weddings & Events. She really knows what she's doing and she will, without a doubt, plan an amazing wedding for you. We couldn't be happier with her services.

I feel that next to the man you will be married to at the end of the day, the second most important decision is your wedding planner! From the moment we found Laurie Davies, we knew that no one else could compare on a personal or professional level to what she had to offer as a wedding coordinator. She was wonderful to work with and truly great at what she does. She provided constant availability throughout planning to help us with decisions or any questions we had along the way. Laurie had a phenomenal group of vendors to refer as well, and the vendor team she helped us put together was absolutely spectacular - we couldn’t imagine having done anything differently! We were a couple wanting a small destination wedding in California, so especially since we were out of state, and I was only able to fly in twice before the wedding… (once to tour venues, and the second time to finalize everything with Laurie a month before, do food tastings, meet the other vendors in person, etc) she put us at complete ease and there was not one point where we had any concerns. She is one of the most organized people I have ever met and was so great about follow-ups throughout; whether it was following up with us, or a vendor. Our family and friends were also able to relax and enjoy the entire wedding day, rather than having to rush around completing last minute tasks or calling vendors before the ceremony. Everything was already done/scheduled/organized and confirmed by Laurie well in advance. All of our guests still talk about our wedding frequently and how it was one of the best if not THE BEST wedding they had ever been to because of how beautiful and flawless everything was!
