Fern Hall was truly an exceptional place for an outdoor wedding. We were allowed to do whatever we wanted. We had our rehearsal there and the rehearsal dinner in the boathouse overlooking Crystal Lake. Nice for a small gathering. We had both the ceremony there as well as the reception. The staff at Fern Hall catered to our every need. I was able to choose the craft beer that I wanted served to my guests. I also requested Dave Matthews wine served to my guests during dinner and Fern Hall came through and had Dreaming Tree wine at our event.

Guys, unless your dream wedding is to be stuck between a rock and a hard place during the entire leadup to your big day, don't select this venue. Management professionalism? Appalling. Responsiveness to inquiries? Negatory. Overall experience? Bad. Just, so bad. If you like spending months having to take off days of work to come meet administration in-person because there is almost no getting through to staff otherwise (who then backtrack on quotes/information), love receiving minimal communication about the organization for your wedding, or truly enjoy utter disjointed chaos in wedding planning, then by all means, this is the place for you. But if you're like us and appreciate communication and transparency, as well as being treated with even a hint of respect, don't bother with Fern Hall. To everyone there, the biggest day of your life is a hassle and a half, and they will not bother to hide it. After trying to make it work for almost a quarter of a year there, our family is giving up and moving on. Two thumbs waaaay down.
